I've always been a massive Rohan fan and I have 60 of the Riders of Rohan waiting for the horns to bring them to battle. From his release, I've been a big Erkenbrand supporter. I wish he was listed as a Hero of Valour though - even if he had his own list to make it so.
A lot of these models were in the original Legions of Middle Earth supplement but never released. Hopefully there's a few more sculpts lurking about.
Isn't Helm Hammerhand 3 attacks? I believe he's the only Rohan model to get that special treatment.

Yeah Helm is 3, so is Eomer and Dernhelm, but Helm is a beast!
Long- time watcher, first time commenter, love the videos and enthusiasm and craft on display.
In addition to the SBG, I also run a LOTR DnD campaign, and the weirdest thing happened. My girlfriend's sister joined the campaign and wanted to play a female Dunlending, so I started to unsuccesfully hunt for a sutiable model to represent that. A few days later, and the Dunland Heroes with Frida Tallspear models was announced on Forgeworld.

Once Christmas is done and dusted I’m grabbing some of this Rohan love for sure. The two towers book was always my favourite part of the trilogy.

Helm Hammerhand getting a free heroic combat plus mighty hero is crazy good when you consider he already has S5 AND burly. He's going to cleave through entire shieldwalls by himself and I can't wait to try him out
Like you I have a large collection of scratch built Rohan buildings but the book and those beautiful New Dunlending figures will soon be in my collection.

Congratulations on getting a lot of predictions right!!! I feel that the battle on fords of isen needed more scenarios. Maybe not the full 8 but at least one more with Erkenbrand. Dunland is looking awesome!!! I believe that their heroes will provide more variety to the forces of Isengard. Big heroes will lack but there are no other characters that they can add. And if they add a named Uruk that is better than Lurtz people might complain. Love the Uruk hai berserker captain idea!! Something that might help to balance the lack of great heroes would be an Eorl the young upgrade to the berserkers, maybe 3 inches and it's provided by a new hero (berserker captain)!! That would mean that Lurtz can strike and also have loads of attacks to guarantee the kill. The new Helm Hammerhand model is superb!! I wish his sons would also get profiles. Then there could be something like Elladan and Ellohir special rule to Helm. Great video and hoping to see the new live stream!!

Excited for the defenders of helm Deep and Theodred's Guard ! Haleth affecting all Rohan infantry heroes is soo fluffy while fords of isen scenarios and list is Awesome! Evil wise im excited for the Scouts list... a more cheap army to get into rather than dunland.

I'm super excited for this release. I only got back into the game earlier this year, after Gondor at War was released and Scouring of the Shire seemed to come in under the radar, so I'm excited to get my teeth into this game. The new Dunlendings look fantastic and I can't wait to build an army with them!
I'm just super exited to see what kinda Helms Deep board you're gonna build, I can already see its going to be epic.

One small little annoyance, I really wish the books came out first then the releases as some items sell out before the book even arrives
GW sell practises more or less caters to second hand scammers nowadays, the fact that pre-orders can be 'sold out' is pretty stupid. Shouldn't the pre-order be used to gauge how many kits GW have to make?
@@Yurt_enthusiast7 Aare you under the impression those models have a turnaround of a week..? Bought Knights of Dol Amroth at WHF EU, couple months before general sale and they went through QA in May. That was 3,5 month to sell them as preview, general release end of September I believe. I understand what you're implying, but it doesn't work like that. At all.
And nothing sold out before the book that you can't get later on (dice & stronghold are gone, don't need those). Dunland, new in the book, coming in a couple weeks/months.
It's all about lead time unfortunately. The GW machine can be a bit slow sometimes.
Great stuff! I was planning on skipping the book as i dont own any Rohan or Isengard but the Dunlendings are probably way too tempting to resist 😀 and will definitely buy the terrain as it looks absolutely amazing!❤️

Given that the Uruk on the rock seems to be more of a commander than a charge leader a profile with master of battle could have been good. I think you could justify it by the tactical method seen in the battle and the fact Saruman would have trained them for the job. Maybe even give them an extended range on it. That would make for a very interesting dynamic against a hero heavy force like the defenders of Helm's Deep.

Hello (sry for the constant comments) I originally didn’t like Rohan because everybody seemed to have it but this video really got me into Rohan! The Rohan terrain also seemed pretty great and I was wondering how many inches long one of the palisades is, because I don’t think I can create the insane terrain you do! Can’t wait for battle companies season 2 (maybe Dunland?) Thanks!

Mighty Hero is the rule Aragorn has where he gets a free point of might each turn
Eorl the Young has Legendary Hero which is on a 4+ the point of might doesn't deplete the might store

Isengard will be my next army to paint, absolutely fantastic mate good review, i predict they hopefully do war of the ring at war, with all the battles outside of the movies, giving lothlorien rivendell , dale and erebor forces time to shine with all the battles that went on there during the war of the ring , keep it up 👍🏽

Hi Lach! Amazing review as always! I think you misunderstand the rule that Helm Hammerhand gets in his legendary legion! Mighty Hero is the rule of Aragorn(1 free point of might each turn!!)...Eorl's rule is Legendary Hero, that makes him recover the first point of might spent in a turn at 4+! however fantastic review, i get the book yesterday...little disappointed like you are for the lack(again sigh!) of big hitting heroes for Isengard, but i'm really excited for the campaign and the legendary legions!! Cheers!!!

But I dont like the look of the thatch roofs so I think some sort of hybrid with teddy bear fur would finish them off.

I wish they could do a Rohan version of Pellenor Fields box, that way you don’t need to go bankrupt trying to get the Uruk hai… just pellenor fields is like 350 USD or something… alll of that Isengard would surely go over at least 3000 USD
I have the old rule book from several years ago and a bunch of models. This supplement looks awesome. In order to play with it would I need the new rule book and the new codex (Armies of Lord of the Rings)? Or would the Armies section included in this book replace the codex if I was only running Rohan and one of the evil forces included in this supplement? Thanks!!

And did I understand this right? Helm Hammerhand could be allied with other armies (as a yellow/green alliance) as long as you don't take a second named Rohan hero?
He get's Aragorn's rule I misread it while filming but the amazing buffs only come in the legion not his base profile to stop exactly that kind of alliance wroughting :)

Maybe Lurtz should just be better. It'd be weird if they gave them a more powerful hero than Lurtz but if they adjusted the power level of all of them starting at the top that would've helped a bit. Still a great army

They are SO GOOD
Isengard got the cool Ugluks Scouts and wolves but the Helms Deep is a big disappointment. I get that captains and mass crossbows or whatever isnt bad but I challenge you this: why would you ever take that LL instead of running Orc Captains/Orcs out of the regular list to up your crossbow count? You get just about no benefit from it. A much more creative rule wouldve been something like, that same LL but you roll for uruks when they die and on a 6 they come in on a predetermined board edge. Couldve been so much more. The lack of a new named captain is also a huge disappointment

I think the huscarls are very disappointing. 11 points I think is very over priced for a unit that can sometimes be F4. If you look at other units around that price costs I think they should’ve been F4 base. But they look super cool
I think they pay a premium because of how valuable they are to the Dunland list, often flat unit comparisons aren't the best because cost can change based on what else is available. Dunland have soooo much cheap F3, you need to be forced to take a fair bit of that to make the F4 cost effective.
