Yeah, Defender's definitely scales with all the named heroes, and you also keep getting more ultra ranged bows. It's probably better at high points compared to low. Great job on the win! -Richard
@@intothewestpodcast Agreed. At lower points there is also strong competition - Helm’s Guard LL. It is similar in many ways - you ain’t getting many heroes anyway at 500 and below, you still get F5, - one is mostly trading elf-bows for a combat monster and access to cavalry.
Don't forget my huscarl heavy variant list for dunland I brought to Clash ;). Still newer with it but did manage 11th. I designed it specifically as an 800-1000 point version. It does have glaring weaknesses of shooting and has problems with elves, but against terror, high defense, even spam armies, it does exceptionally well. It requires some pretty precise planning to get it to work properly, and obviously costs a ton with huscarls being expensive, but it works better than people read it on paper. The rohan conundrum is annoying. Hatred is nice, but between throwing Spear spam, and RRG spam for mounted, it tends to fall short. Fighting them. You get bonuses, but the normal issues isengard has with Rohan is still present.
Hey Scott! I remember talking to you at Clash, you indeed do very well. Good points but I also like to think in MESBG a lot of times the player skill comes above the list, so your placing might have been due to the former reason :) It's definitely not a bad list but I just think the weaknesses are big enough take it down from a top tier army! But that is just purely our opinion, happy to be proven wrong haha. -Richard
As someone who played cirith ungol. I personally dont like mordor urukhai and urukai scouts. Def5 max is kinda trash. Like you guys said animosity takes abit to much effort imo to be worth it. Regular orcs are also kinda bad.
At the time of recording, we didn’t get the ballista reroll changed to reroll 1s only yet. While unfavourable, you still had a chance to reroll every shot into a 6. How they are now is much worse against blinding light.
@@intothewestpodcast I don't agree with you lol I play dunland competively and I'm on a 85% winrate with them. People just don't know how to play them :) They sit on the higher end of A tier.
DoHD scales reasonably well into 800 with Strider.
Won a tournament recently with it at that points.

Good points! Helm's and Theodred's Legion are both really strong at low points.
Sharku and his boys! Meme Tier!!! Challenge excepted!
Hahaha! Goodluck, let us know how you fair with them!

46:00 I think Jermey from the Green Dragon podcast won the Conquest Champions legue with the Dunland LL army?

Also it's the only list in the game ive seen consistently be able to wound on 1s ;). (MESBG doesn't have an auto-fail mechanic like other GW games).

Won’t blinding light counter assault om Helm’s deep pretty hard?

Also got shot off the board as dunland against theorededs guard against a certain host 😆 was a fun game just got massacred
It's brutal, and by it I mean Ian!

@@intothewestpodcast he says it's all evens out but it just doesn't
Lol!
So sad with dunland, love playing them just wish they had something more like more options to fight 4 or letting the horseman take bows
They definitely would be more competitive with more options. Right now they still are good, just only at a few points levels.

Fair enough! Maybe we just haven't seen it yet in the hands of a player that knows what they are doing with it!

Host a 300 point tournament to prove the wolves are bad
Paths of the durdain is powerful at good versus evil. Woses with poison and hatred is powerful.
