@@Harbringe Your opinion is your own mind you. Chris is famous for his voice and will always be remembered that way. Sinead is remembered for her hair style.
I saw other people mention that this was a cover. This version was made as a tribute to Prince when he died. I would never in a million years have thought that Chris Cornell would commit suicide only a short time later. It was devastating. He was such a powerful musical influence growing up. Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and his solo work were always in the musical rotation in my youth. He inspired so many musicians in his life to make wonderful music. Your reaction made my eyes water up too. Always a pleasure to have these experiences with you.
I still can't believe we won't get to see any new songs or covers from him. He was a huge musical influence for me growing up as well. My dad introduced me to Soundgarden and TEmple of the Dog and that was it, I was hooked.
@@BDHuson I used to think about how these musicians were more than human when I was growing up. I never imagined a world without Chris Cornell, Prince, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, Lemmy, Bowie... These musicians were all staples of my youth. As I've gotten older and seen them all pass away, I just realize that no person of any fame or fortune can avoid death. Their music will however remain as their legacy. And covers will continue to pay tribute over the years.
@@justincowan7486 Nailed it but I'd like to throw 1 more name in the ring, at least for me and my high school days and being a beach bum... The late great Bradley Nowell! Sublime as well as all names above are still on my heavy rotation playlist and most have been since 91-94ish!
Unfortunately/fortunately? He must have been in a lot of pain during this performance; probably generating the honesty of his delivery. I have to take it as his swan song for taking his life only a few weeks later.
This song was not made as a tribute to Prince. If you watch the full show he said that they were singing it because he heard Prince say that he hates when people cover his songs. That is why you hear everyone laughing when this song begins. He begins talking about Prince around the 54 minute mark. ruclips.net/video/M-nDWbOBmZE/видео.html
Depression sucks. To this day I still think about ending it. Chris was a very talented guy who left way too soon but his music will live on. Play it in heaven
Prince was a poetic, lyrical, musical genius...To put a name on a small portion of his brilliance!. Sadly enough this came with some of the demons that many like him (Chris Cornell, Chester Bennington, Robin williams....). Prince was/is a true legend and I hope one day I’ll meet him at the great party in the sky, may he REST IN PEACE!
Here's a little fun fact. Prince is responsible for Chris Cornell's suicide. Because this song blew up bigger than any song he ever wrote before. And it was just a cover. And he was singing a concert One Night in Minneapolis and everybody was screaming for him to play Nothing compares to you. And an hour later he killed himself. Coincidence or fact? So either Prince is responsible for Chris Cornell's death or the crowd at the Minneapolis is. Either way it's purple
Chris is like dude! I've been in the business for 20 years and it took a Prince song to make me famous?. Forget about it...I think I'll just hang myself
Chris always gets you.!!! He can get anyone.. The right song will get anyone, no one is safe from it!!!! If your looking, he'll make your eyes melt. Audioslave -Exploder, will make your head explode.
Written by the late great Prince ❤ Made famous by Sinead O'Connor ❤❤ Hearts & Souls touched by Chris Cornell ❤❤❤ RIP Chris Cornell, Sinead O'Connor & Prince, you are all sadly missed ❤❤❤❤
Every time i hear Chris sing this song i cant help but to cry inside for his wife. Obviously an irreplaceable gaping hole in her heart for the rest of her days. RIP Chris....
Chris has had that effect on everyone who has the privilege of hearing his beautiful voice. He was know as " THE VOICE" by his peers. Not too many voices that capture a person like his does. He is so missed.
Chris passing really got to me. I graduated in 91 so I grew up with him and Eddie Vedder. Chris's voice was unbelievable,, could go from as smooth as this song to strip the paint off metal rock star.
You gave the most honest, raw, emotionally invested reaction to this man and 1 song he totally took control of......that I've seen. Besides myself. Thank you ....and that's what makes you special.
Chris' music transcended all boundaries...grew up in India listening to Soundgarden, Alice In Chains , Pearl Jam , STP... cried my heart out when I heard the tragic news, it was as if a part of my childhood had been taken away..RIP Genius...we were privileged to have heard you sing.
He did a version with his daughter too. His voice was insane. After Chester Bennington died, Chris’s daughter did a version of Hallelujah with one republic that gives me chills. Her eyes are so haunted. So much talent and so much pain in those two. RIP Chris and Chester.
People with big hearts and open minds pick up emotions and feeling imprints than most. He did a great job of making you feel his heart ache for his missed lover. Good reaction.
I’d never knew of this cover & performance done by Chris until I saw this reaction vid. You’re reaction is so REAL & Honest & you don’t over shadow it & I honestly appreciate that in this reaction you let it touch you & move you & that’s Beautiful.
You are amazing. Thank you for allowing us to share this experience together. Music transcends any barriers and brings people together. Music is love. Love is music. We are one when we share. A beautiful thing. Thank you. 🤟🏽 R.I.P. Chris.
Wow, one of the absolute best covers of this song that I've ever heard. One of Prince's masterworks on display as the blues song that it obviously is lyrically.
It's good to see somebody knows music!! you're correct Prince was amazing...But another voice that everybody lost to soon and cherished in chris Cornell😔
If you want more Chris goosebumps these r sure to deliver. He is sooo good live. Fell on Black Days live @ SiriusXM When I’m Down live at the Troubadour Seasons Studio Jam version Billie Jean live at MSN
One of my favorite lyrics in this song "It's been so lonely without you here, Like a bird without a song" and Chris just pours on the pain. Great cover.
So miss Chris. And all those that left us to early. Their music touched me soul and helped me get through sind really tuff times. Thank you for your reacton.
Such a beautiful and real reaction. I cried watching and listening to it! It wasn't just his voice, but Chris was a very cool dude that was always from the heart. Thank you.
Beautiful reaction! RIP Chris,,..he had a very cool voice. Prince wrote this for his side project, The Family, He then released it after Sinead O'Connor. Rosie Gaines and himself singing. Great song!
You need to listen to, fell on black days, it was one of Chris's own song and very emotional. He sang it live at this same sirus recoding session. Well worth the watch
RIP Chris! You are missed. That voice is amazing. So sorry you had to leave us. I hope you found peace in the arms of the angels. 💔 Sorry folks, Chris recorded this in 1989 and it was released 1990, well before Prince passed away. After Prince died, this became very popular!
Oh, you did it. Wow. Okay, getting ready to watch...excited. *edit* There was truly no one like Chris. Someone recommended Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike, and I agree. He teams up with Eddie Vedder on that one.
You are the perfect reactor for sad songs. I love your reactions to them :):) On that note, here's a few more sad songs that you might enjoy: Kelly Clarkson - "Piece by Piece" (American Idol Farewell Live edition only... the studio version is complete crap) Sugarland - "Stay" Tim McGraw - "Don't Take the Girl" Martina McBride - "Concrete Angel" And a few fun ones to counteract the deep feels: Toby Keith - "Trailerhood" Craig Morgan - "International Harvester" The Chicks - "Goodbye Earl" Sugarland - "Stuck Like Glue"
Prince wrote it, Sinead sang it and Chris owned it.
