- Ever since my dad's first visit in 1995, He instantly fell in love with Siquijor Island.
He saved up and slowly built a beach house from scratch.
I remember so much childhood memories visiting Siquijor during the summer and I am so fortunate to be able to call Siquijor Island my second home.

Siquijor is indeed a very beautiful place. My mother and family is from Lazi, Siquijor, I visit Siquijor every time I visit the Philippines from Florida to spend time with my relatives. The people are very nice and hospitable. Siquijor has a special place in my heart. I love Siquijor. Thank you for sharing.

What a beautiful place for all of you to enjoy. Looks like it could be complicated to get to Siquijor but once your there it is great.

Your dad I consider a modern day French explorer, settling in the Philippines with very little knowledge about the land and its people. I admire people like him. Unlike me, I’m a native born Filipino, spent most of my younger life in the Philippines, but still there is a war raging within me, if I should settle back to my home country in retirement. I need some inspirations like him.

At the end of the day, that will really depend on you. Do not be pressure by others around you and help them influence your decision. Choosing a country to retire is a major decision and although you are Filipino by blood, you should follow what you feel. For now, you may visit the Philippines and see if you feel like this is the perfect place for your to retire.

For me my dream when I was young I wanted to go to 🇺🇸America but now I’m old and wanna retire in my hometown in the Philippines 🇵🇭 It’s really much more Fun in the Summer by the white sand beaches! So peaceful and relaxing ❤🙏✅I love the water sports swimming, scuba diving 🤿 windsurfing ❤ 🙏eating freshly caught fish and fresh vegetables organically grown 😄❤️

Siquijor is such a beautiful island. Almost developed compared to my visit there and Dumaguete in 1977.

It really is! 🙌🏻❤️ but that’s true. Siquijor is booming and does not look like the Siquijor I knew back when I was a kid.
This was truly my father’s greatest investment! He feels at peace here and couldn’t ask for more 🙌🏻❤️

Sorry took so long to reply. Just moved from Muntinlupa to Los Banos, Laguna. I seem to be the only expat around here. I would like to have a place to rent near the beach somewhere. Sunshine shoulders had a video some time ago, whereby he did an airbnb for $400? Would love to explore and see. I want to have access to a small boat to putt around on or sail around.

I'm a Taiwanese American ready to see the Philippines with my Filipina wife. We met in the US and now our kids are grown, we're going to explore the world starting in PH before the end of the year, and probably make our base there with so many lovely people and of course the culture. I am very inspired and happy to find your channel. I'd look into building or buying a property near the beach, but probably not right on it :) I like a blend of water and mountains.

My wife is from Luzon. She's mentioned a few places we must go visit like Cebu and Boracay. This will be my first time to visit so I'm completely open to suggestions and like your dad said, I intend to learn from the locals. I work for a large US based company and have colleagues who work from Manila. My wife and I will start a business in Manila or surrounding areas. One thing I will insist on is to go to a class once I land, to learn the local language, probably Tagalog.

Its very easy to learn tagalog,all you have to do is buy books written in tagalog or watch CD's movies in tagalog hope this can help you.
That’s amazing Kaby! Yes you should definitely visit Cebu the Queen city of the South and is also the oldest city in the Philippines.
Although if you want a more laid back area that still gives you a great city vibe, you guys should visit Iloilo. You can check out some Iloilo videos on our playlist. Very clean and the food were delicious!
If you want to avoid the city and enjoy the simple island life, there’s Camiguin and Siquijor which is less touristy. Boracay, Panglao Bohol and Siargao are also beautiful but they are becoming very touristy almost having the same vibes as the beaches in Thailand 😅

Sequijor is just northwest of Camiguin Island my native province. The two island has similar characteristics but Sequijor is more bigger in land area and population. Soon Godwilling building our retirement house there next year. Enjoy your beach house. Watching from the USA.
