So lovely to see how young filipinos are embracing the filipino kubo design. Enough of the western influence designs which is not applicable to our hot, humid weather. Such a dreamy house.
when I was a kid I was obsessed with american style houses you see in movies. but later I realized they don't belong here any more than a cherry blossom belongs in our parks
@@rodrigoduterte853yeah thats only the problem. The rain will come inside the house. This is one of my dream house too but considering the typhoon.. This is amazing but thinking about how to protect your furniture and stuff..
Their story is very inspiring! We all know what Ukraine had experienced against Russia and for a Filipina married to a Ukrainian, their story is really something worth sharing. Now, her husband is experiencing life in the Philippines where everything is not perfect but when it comes to family ties, this country is one of the unbeatable out there! I hope that their kiddo will grow as a great person just like his parents where love really matters. God bless their family. :) PS: This Bahay Kubo is really aesthetically pleasing to the eyes!
there is nothing wrong in adopting certain architectural or building construction elements from the west. Concrete comes from the west but we use it as a building material. The Spanish or ancestral houses that were built has elements from the bahay kubo.
Kudos for sticking to your husband thru thick and thin! Kaya di mo maiiwasan mababa ang tingin sa ibang Pilipina na para lang makaamgat sa buhay kaya nagaasawa ng foreigner. Kudos to u madamme!
Goodness! This is exactly what I have been dreaming of building. A two-story bahay-kubo. Yong pwede lang mag-chill-chill sa ibaba. But I would want to have bedrooms dowstairs for my folks.
@@fitzroy6970 I think he meant the walls and the roof. The intense wind during monsoon season was definitely a concern. Ideally, the house should have been surrounded by large trees, at least five meters tall, to act as a windbreak during the monsoon season.
It's time that we put our traditional filipino house in a pedestal like this it's Amazing, I will probably build similar but more sturdy am worried about moonsoon or storm.this house it's unique well done to you guys
Spot on. The lower house will be useless if there is a typhoon. Pero maganda sya. Dream house ko rin ang ganito. After ko mapatapos mga anak ko sa pag aaral pack up na ako from Australia back to Philippines again.
Aahhhh!!! This is what i've been dreaming of for our rest house in our province! A modern bahay kubo, with open space under, then a spacious balcony. So dreamy!!! 😍
Wow! This is the kind of bahay kubo in my mind I really wanted it for a short staycation, planning to build like a kitchen with open living room on the main floor. But the thing is during the storm or typhoon I was thinking to put a cover that you can roll up and down just to avoid the rain coming inside. I love your bahay kubo so peaceful and relax! God bless to your journey!
In design, it's not always about how beautiful the structure is, it's about how it will work efficiently. The bahay kubo is a manifestation of how beautiful our culture and traditions are. Back then, the design of the structure may have worked; But as time changes (whatever technology we have) it may not work in the current times because the needs of the people changed too. There are also environmental changes that need to be addressed. In my humble opinion, what these beautiful structure need is protection from the rainy season especially the "silong" part of the house. It may be a challenge for the owner on how to address that, but I believe it will be worth it in the long run for them to save more money because of the humongous cost of repairs and renovation. 😊
I can see the flies on the kitchen area augh glass windows would be pretty cool to add there, still gives you that open space and privacy at the same time
Concept and theme is so lovely and amazing. I hope the architect considered some protections from cyclones and earthquake. It's for the protection of the family.
Treated bamboo ang ginagamit for most modern home builds like this. There are bamboo treatment plants in Batangas and other areas. Treated bamboo doesn't rot for at least 20 years or more. It's the same principle for outdoor bamboo furniture. The cement bamboo frame is also typhoon tested. DOST tested cement bamboo frame houses and they withstood severe typhoons (cyclone signal 4).
Kahit pa treated yan anak bukbukin din yan pinsan ko pinsan ko may ari pa ng mapecon yong bakasyonan Nila ganyan up n down inanay pa pag Nabasa yan pagtumagal dun magsimula
I believe its a temporary house for them na nagbubudget. Malaki pa space ng lupa nila pwede sila gumawa ng isang bahay na malaki laki pag may budget na sila.
I’m not being epal but from a modern bahay kubo enthusiast, here’s my point of view: Looks nice and relaxing but I’m not sure if the owners considered the forces of nature when building this house. Very open yung space sa baba, paano mga lamok at mga insekto, not to mention mga daga. I suggest planting some trees around the house to shield you from elements. Masyadong open, for sure salo nyo lahat ng alikabok, init, at ulan.
Such a beautiful home. Loved the living area and kitchen ,open on all 4 sides to welcome the breeze and natural light. The room upstairs commands such a sweeping view. Loved it. Just sitting there by the window and looking out at the endless greenery outside is so soothing. Only doubt ....what happens during the rainy season. Wont the kitchen and living area get completely wet? How strong is its bamboo exterior? Can the cane work resist the fury of the monsoons? Except for this aspect, this house is like paradise. Thank you for this home tour. Enjoyed it so much.
I like it very much ♥️♥️♥️ love that they built the house in only a small portion of the lot. The design is 🔥✨✨✨.. very simple yet relaxing, green-friendly house ♥️
I like the coziness of your modern Bahay Kubo.,.. infact I'm planning to have my own by October this year. I would appreciate if you can share with me your contractor... Thanks and good luck to both of you.
Nice house surrounded with nature and fresh air clean environment. When the strong windy storm comes, what would you do? No place to hide. Grow small trees around and another structure to cover the open area.
A dream house !!! Very cool place to relax.. however I think during storm or continuous rainy days the ground floor will be messy with rainwater as it is an open space..
This is a very nice house. Looks very airy with the open design and lots of trees nearby. I am not sure though how hot it gets or how humid it can be during the peak summer months there in San Juan. Or how fierce the storms can get during the stormy months. It looks very open to me. How is the protection from the strong rains and very strong winds given the very open space and lots of trees nearby?
I don't call this a "bahay kubo". Actually it's a two story house, very nice inside, very spacious and comfortable. Bahay kubo is sometimes called "nipa hut" built with dry and matured nipa leaves with bamboo.
Bahay kubo is only a temporary house and is good only in summer. During rainy season if it's windy and with typhoon your balcony and the ground floor will become wet. Hence the bamboo will rot easily.
The open Kitchen and living area is good only during summer. but not suitable during rainy seanson and typhoon. P800K-1M cost for this house is too much :} It cost P28,571 per sqm @ 35 sqn floor area.
yeah i agree with you. the cost of this house is too much plus the fact that some of the materials are bamboo which is cheap to buy in the province like batangas.
What a wonderful house. My question is, what happens in strong winds? I am glad you built that bathroom on the main floor. I think that will stabilize it in winds. God bless you both, as well as your family.
I like your kubo and its beautiful. San Juan is not far from San Jose, and have some relatives there,I once live there before my primary school in my uncle``s family.
A lovely SUMMER house but problematic during typhoon. There should be a mechanism to protect at least the kitchen from typhoon.. otherwise, they will starve during calamities

Are the bamboos treated to withstand the weather and termites? How do they maintain the open ground floor during the wet season especially when there’s a typhoon?
Maganda Ang concept nila along with the nature pero Hindi nila naisip na every 6months or every year ehh... ,, kailangan talaga Ang maintenance para maintain Ang ichura Ng bahay Nayan at staka 300k - 400k Kayang Kaya na mag patayo Ng ganyan will they said in the video Hindi sila prepared dahil nga nag risk sila Kasi Kung prepared sila at pinagplanuhan talaga Hindi aabot sa 1M Ang magagastos nila kahit pa Sabihin NATIN na nagmahal Ang materialis Hindi padin aabot sa 1M yan Kung pinag isipan talaga Yun lang

Beautiful! Looks expensive for 1M..but the inside part most probably made expensive. 👍🇧🇭🇵🇭 I hope you consider the rainy season! It looks too open for wind and rain. Maybe planting trees later can help. Good luck in Philippines life!
This is not expensive. it's only 20,000 in dollars . It's a house, Here in Toronto your 1 M pesos or 20,000 dollars you can build only a garages for car.

Are there any updates or feedback po how the house withstand storm or heavy rain ?? Im really interested... i love this design. Im just not sure how you cope with bad weather.
Hi. This is also what I want to built but I cannot fine a structural Engr. to provide a structural analysis for a wooden two story house. Can you refer me to your architect maybe they can design a similar house for me complete with structural analysis. Thanks.
I love it don't get me wrong. My only issue is if rains or worst if there is a Typhoon. What happens then? Flooding isn't gonna be so bad because I see that the house is quite elevated.

The open lounge is nice and refreshing until storm comes😮
It actually won’t get damaged the winds will pass right thru, plus it’s easier to repair, they will be aight,
