This was a true restoration of a great piece of MCM furniture. This sideboard deserved Raphael and I am so glad he got it instead of a furniture "flipper" who would have ruined it.
Your attention to detail is incredible, another fantastic piece. Also how lovely that you take the time to reply to everyone who has commented on your work.
The sideboard/dresser looks beautiful Raphael. No matter how many years pass well designed mid-century furniture is timeless. It fills my heart and eyes with joy watching a mid-century piece restored to it's original glory. Thank you
Love seeing you restore the base and back of the cabinet and the underneath of the drawers. Many folks forget about, or disregard these areas. It makes the job look cheap when they do.
This is so satisfying to watch and for so many reasons. One major one is the craftsmanship awe -- the knowledge of tools, techniques and finishes. Another is showing us the many things that still possess a beauty and function. You are my hero most of all because you save items from being trashed and therefore show us that we don't have to waste. Thank You.
I don't care if it's authentic or reproduction...the fact that you are taking pieces and giving them new life is beautiful! People are buying "new" furniture hand over fist these days, and the old stuff is so much better quality. Saved another piece from going in a landfill! Your work is incredible and I love the color. People question artists' decision in colors etc...but you have close up experience and know what the piece needs. Thank you for sharing!
In the midst of this consumer era, seeing how you give a piece of furniture a second life is truly enjoyable. Thanks for sharing, I always follow you. SL
What a lovely piece this is, very unique with its curves and so glad there was another leg and draw that had been saved, and think what's really great is that you put the same handles back on and not put brass on as some youngsters are tending to do at the moment. Your the king off wood restoration. 🤩👍🤟
I'm not into furniture refinishing, but I can't stop watching your videos when it's pop app on my computer. It's telling how good you are, at what you doing. GREAT MASTER
Ive never seen anyone spray on stain before. Well done! Im happy you wear a mask. It looks like a good one. All those chemicals stay in the air for hours. We tested it. Beautiful results!
I love your work ethic. Your way is organized, methodical, precise and the attention to detail is incredible. It has been years since I have refinished a piece and watching you brings back the passion for me. Thanks for showing us true master craftsmanship.
Just about to go to bed after watching RUclips and noticed your new post so had to stay up and watch. I have to say that this is not my style of furniture but that in no way takes away your artistry and attention to the smallest details. I loved the the colour that you put on this. Make id look so much richer. I have a carpenter friend that i have been talking to about your 'hobby' and will try to get him over this week to watch all of your amazing things you have done. I think the Shou Sugi Ban has to be my favorite so far as it is the first one i watched. Keep on trucking and working at your hobby. #genious.
Well done well done and top of creativity. I like your dedication to your work and converting old pieces of furniture into very beautiful pieces of art. Thank you for sharing this creativity with us
First I thought, the sideboard was a danish design and made by a brand like Dyrlund. But it`s british made! A high quality product and an even higher quality restoration, wonderful done.
Loved what you did with your project, also I can't help noticed your background. What a cool vibe you did to your workshop~perhaps you will give us a tour to your workshop in future video?
That was a major work of art, Raphael 🙌 So meticulous in every way! It's lovely. Did you catch the run away screw driver in time? 😉 .. 😍 Thanks for sharing. Love watching!
P A W. (Perfectionist At Work.) Always a pleasure to see you transform each piece. The preparation work you put in every time shows in the finished product. You are a legend and you never disappoint. 👍😎👍
My dad worked for Meredew in the forties, and I worked there in the offices in the sixties:) It is in England, in Letchworth (the world's first garden city). It was an upscale furniture store. I had several pieces but unfortunately got rid of them. Small world.
Barbara, I purchased a similar piece as this in Arizona USA. They are rare here. Do you know what wood the legs are? I’m working on a restoration as it’s in rough shape.
Love the care you've put into this piece, however, I don't understand why you stained the wood? The colour was beautiful, when you wiped it with with white spirits, which is the effect a clear varnish would have given. Aside from that, it's gorgeous.
I was so happy to see that the legs and handles of the dresser were kept, they are so beautiful!
Thank you so much Brenda👍😁

Thank you very much for kind words Robyn👌👍
This workshop is neat and organized. Part of the reason I watch the videos is that the guy takes care of the space too.
Thanks for your feedback 😊👍😊

Wow, I can't believe the loving care you put into the pieces that looks hopeless. Kudos. You're a preservationist and a recycler
Thank you very much 😊👍😊
Absolutely stunning. You are the first person I have seen to spray stain on the piece. Such quality work.
Thank you very much 😊👍😊
Such care and patience when restoring. It shows in the finished product. Another absolutely beautiful piece of furniture!
So glad to hear that 😃😃 Many thanks 😀
Not really restoration when you smother it in stain, but up until that point I was very impressed. No idea why you'd stain teak.
! A
I appreciate when you speed up the longer processes, but yet slow it down when working on the details. This was lovely. Thank you.
Ok😁😁 Thank you so much for your feedback 😁👍
It's easy to understand the contemporary opinion on mcm sideboards as 'coffins on legs' . Great work. There will be a scramble for this & rightly so
Thanks for your feedback 😊👍😊
В этом видео прекрасно всё. И фактура дерева, и монтаж, и кадр, и звук, и свет и сама работа мастера 👍
I love what you did with the wax. I never thought of heating it like that. Beautiful work on that piece. Well done.

Probably teak. A lot of the furniture was at that time as the Scandinavian look was popular.
I see this piece of furniture in my house in my mind. I loooove it ! You are a Master 👏🎗🎗
Thank you very much 😊👍😊
Just found your vlog, you do exceptional work... a new subscriber!

Thank you for not ruining this with paint.

New to woodworking; what is the name of the orange sanding "wheel" used on end grains, and the name of the tiny sanding accessory used on the handles?
Can't remember exactly but kind of sanding wheel drill attachment 😀
Great job!! Couple of questions. What did you use to paint the furniture legs? Why did you use the heat gun?
Você é maravilhoso no seu trabalho! Parabéns...pelo cuidado e capricho!
Beautiful ‼️ as always ♥️
Nice work,You are eminently gifted 💖😘
Thank you so much 😊👌😊

When did Phillips heads start being used in furniture building? I have some 1950’s furniture and it all flathead.
That is certainly one very high end finish.👍
Thank you so much 😉😀
