      Консервативная реставрация воздействует на предмет мебели только с помощью работ по консолидации существующей конструкции; там, где это возможно, сохраняются следы и «повреждения», приобретенные с течением времени. Все его части сохраняются консолидированными и склеенными, даже если они изъедены червями, деградировали, ничего не добавляя и не удаляя.

      I restore antique oil paintings and frames myself in the classical way with original materials. You did everything right. 👍The patina, signs of using, the destroying from the woodworms and the grown demage is incredible. It's a conservation not a restauration, but it looks amazing. Well done. 👌

    For anyone watching this video... this is a restoration! A restoration is not changing the use of the piece, it is not painting the piece to cover up damage. A restoration is returning the piece to its original functionality, to its original appearance, as much as possible. Absolutely wonderful work done here! Beautiful and high quality crafts!

      actually, id argue that this is a conservation rather then a restoration. the fabric of the chair has be stabilised and preserved, be it has been done in a way as to keep a sense of artifact rather then returning it to its functionality as a chair. a restoration on this project would have been to replace any damaged wood and to make it strong enough to act as a chair. that said, doing so in this instance would have meant replacing nearly all the wood. so a conservation was a better approach.

    • @leewood729
      @leewood729 9 месяцев назад

      True - I'd be quite leery of trying to sit in that chair. But being conserved as an historical artefact, this is it well-done.

      It is not restoration! It is a commerical advertisment of wet & dry cacuum only!
      According to the our knowledge, restoration is the act or process of returning something to its earlier good condition.
      Put a rotten chair in a display cabinet & finish a so-called restoration, honestly speaking, will you dare to sit on this rotten & restorated chair?

    Superb video and excellent technique--10-for-10. I find that pulling out nails vertically, helps reduce splintering. So I tend to use the nippers in small bites (over a solid shield, like you do), while keeping the nail as vertical as is practical for a clean extraction. The use of oxalic acid for surface brightening and paraloid for resin stabilization is head and shoulders above nearly all other restorers on RUclips. Note that paraloid can also be infused under vacuum, for maximal penetration.

    • @IlMakerstauratore
      @IlMakerstauratore  9 месяцев назад +2

    Anyone expecting this to be brought back to looking new is totally missing the point of this excellent conservation. The wood is hardened & stabilized, the joint strength is re-established... all the while retaining its original look. Now this little chair can safely take pride of place in the shop window, offering the aesthetic the shopowner desired. Well done!

      Шеллак - природная смола животного происхождения, получаемая из секрета насекомых отряда полужесткокрылых Kerria lacca, обитающих в лесах Ассама и Таиланда; его получают из выделений самок полужесткокрылых, собранных с коры деревьев, на которых он откладывается, чтобы прочно закрепиться на дереве. После очистки вещество принимает форму желтых/коричневых гранул или хлопьев.

    I found this video frustrating. Is there a reason it had to be completely silent? I would have liked to have heard the history of the chair - how old is it? why is it important? why does it need to be preserved? - as well as what the person was doing and what materials they were using as they did it.

    50% of the video is watching you mix products or assemble tools. Get to the work and not the shots of opening cabinets, adding water, adding cleaner, mixing the cleaner etc.

      I hate to be harsh bro. I like the work but the filler stuff makes me speed through at 2x or skip most parts.@@IlMakerstauratore

    Bel lavoro, le sedie sono sempre un grattacapo da restaurare! Premetto che non sono un professionista,pero credo di poter dire con certezza che il restauro è stato ottimo fino all utilizzo della carteggiatrice elettrica e il vinavil...... Forse con una leggera passata a mano (con carta fine) e l utilizzo di colla animale al posto del vinavil lo avrebbero reso un restauro (quasi) da museo! Complimenti comunque bel lavoro!!
