Mr Rogers had such a calm, sensible demeanor and there are many, many examples of how he taught little kids the importance of learning good traits like why you should be nice to people. He never mentioned religion, just good values. This is one example (from Google but I'd heard it before): After a 5-year-old blind girl wrote a letter to Mr. Rogers asking him to tell her when he fed his fish so she doesn't worry about them going hungry, he began narrating the feeding of his goldfish in every episode. How simple it often is to be a more compassionate friend.

Thank you for this fascinating transition journey, Cash! I didn't realize he had testified before Congress to support PBS, which is virtually the only live TV channel I watch. I owe him a debt of gratitude. I didn't watch his show (maybe it wasn't carried where I live?), but I did appreciate him. We need more people like him, except that they need to take care of themselves as well. 💜☮️

Mr. Rogers came out of retirement, to do public service videos to calm children, after 911 happened. He would always volunteer to do whatever he could to help. Such a lovely crossing. Thank you, Cash. You really convey that love through my screen, and I am sure you aren't aware that you are doing it.

Mr Rogers helped my wife and I raise our two sons, now aged 41 and 38. They could be playing at a fevered pitch as young boys do, but would instantly descend into an almost hypnotic, peaceful trance in front of the TV when his show came on. Knowing what I’ve now come to know, I’m sure Fred’s energy was able to be transmitted through television from his heart to those of millions of children, as well as to the hearts of adults. I worked with a colleague who was on Fred’s staff in the 60’s and who testified that he was as genuine and authentic as he was portrayed to the public.

As an adult, watching his show it would seem odd. Mr Rogers was even-keeled, spoke kind words and his show had a routine. Imagine all the children in homes where parents had outbursts and their lives were chaotic. Mr. Rogers was always kind, always quiet. It made it easier for children to hear his message.

For years I watched Fred Roger's with my children and just to enjoy his programs by myself when they became less interested in preschool programs. Much better than Gumby and Howdy Doody in the mid 1950s.
His attitude as he translates is no surprise to me. Fits his personality perfectly. He was a very spiritual man.

I grew up poor and we had no TV. We did finally get a phone but it was a party line, and someone was always leaving their phone off the hook, so everyone on the party line was unable to use it and no one could call them. One weekend after days of someone's off the hook phone depriving us all of phone service, a woman on the party line called my parents. She was furious. (We had a big family) She was sure we were the inconsiderate low-lifes who left their phone off the hook for days. She told daddy, "I KNOW it was you cause your kids were watching Captain Kangaroo!" Daddy just told her, "We don't even HAVE a damn TV." She was tripping all over herself apologizing. She was a good friend to our family after that. But my own kids watched Mr. Rogers, and then Sesame Street. Public TV has been a Godsend for so many.

What a gift, thank you for sharing. I am 62 and can, like millions of others, sing every last word to many of Mr. Rogers’ songs. I watched with a much younger brother and then my own children. Songs such as
It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood
A beautiful day for a neighbor would you be mine, could you be mine?
I have always wanted have a neighbor just like you,
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with You,
So, let’s make the most of this beautiful day.
When we’re together we might as well say, would you be mine, could you be mine, won’t you be my neighbor. Won’t you please, won’t you please, please won’t you be my neighbor.
    And
You are my friend you are special , special to me you’re special
Tomorrow, tomorrow there soon will be tomorrow and be our day, we will say a very happy tomorrow to you!
    And of course ....
    It’s such a good feeling
    To know you're alive
    It's such a happy feeling
    You're growing inside
And when you wake up ready to say
"I'll make a snappy new day."
    (Snap snap)
    It's such a good feeling
    A very good feeling
    The feeling you know
That I'll be back when the day is new
And I'll have more ideas for you
And you'll have things you'll want to talk about
    I will, too
    (Spoken)
You always make each day such a special day. You know how: by just your being you. There's only one person in the whole world exactly like you, and that's you yourself, and people can like you exactly as you are

Fred Rogers was part of my motherhood. My three children watched his program and loved his mini-stories, filed trips, songs and neighbors. He was such a lovely man. He wanted little ones to understand and welcome new experiences, growing older and things that they didn’t quite understand unless a trusted adult accompanied them. He had songs that they related to, such as “You can Never Go Down the Drain”...never had I, as a Mom, guessed that this was a child’s fear. I miss him. 🥰

  • @DeannaAKADeanna
    @DeannaAKADeanna 3 года назад +5

Oh, this was lovely and not surprising at all. As I've mentioned, I was friends with Koko the gorilla who used sign language for her last 14 years. She had the good fortune to meet him. She was very excited because she loved watching his show (she understood a fair bit of spoken English). Watch the interaction by searching youtube. They had a wonderful visit. Rogers used some of the footage of their interaction for his show (she was also on Reading Rainbow once briefly). He may have been her favorite celebrity (she got to meet quite a few & really liked Betty White, Robin Williams whom she recognized from her Mrs. Doubtfire DVD, & more), one of his favorite people, probably. They were both extraordinary.
Seriously, sit back for just a moment and imagine her transition pictures. More than a few psychics have told me she was more than what she seemed. She was/is definitely full of love.
    Thanks, Cash. XO

What a gift to have been a friend of Koko’s! I am not certain but I believe animals retain their essence and memory of their true connection with the Divine, and have no trouble transitioning. There’s no hesitancy or doubt. One of my dog’s passed away in my arms. I was sitting on a couch and she was in my lap. As soon as she passed over, I stood up to carry her and almost threw her over my shoulders. Her 65 pound body felt like it was 3 ounces. That was a gift to me to let me know that she had moved on. She later came back to visit for about three months - my other dog wouldn’t go into certain rooms when she came to visit. She was letting me know she was ok and still alive in her new form.

    • @DeannaAKADeanna
      @DeannaAKADeanna 3 года назад

@@kimariokiji Yes! I had a Siamese cat who has been gone nearly 7 years and when I ask my 11 year old dog if she's around, she looks to a certain place in the room.
My regular medium & mentor tells me that Koko is still busy on the other side. Actually, she also said that Koko is the oldest, most powerful entity she has come across and that I've known her for billions of years (and we've worked together in past lives, but that at this point, I don't take a body as often as most people) & there's more. Pretty trippy.

Both of my in laws remember him as a beautiful, genuine person. I’ve personally been living in Pittsburgh since the late 80s and he is beyond a hero here. When the protests on trump immigration were happening, many of the signs here said “What would Mr. Rodgers do?” I suspect his stomach cancer may have been related to difficulties ‘stomaching’ so much of the cruelty of this world, particularly with children. He was truly a man who embraced Christ Consciousness. This was lovely. Thank you!💕

He empowered all ages of people who were bullied and politically empowered the disenfranchised and those with no voice. Yes, as a child, he was my safe place to fall. He always reminded to look for the "helpers" when facing struggles or fears. His heart and courage inspired me to become a " helper" as an adult.

No one was more accepting, in awe of life's wonders, or genuinely kind. How I miss that man.
For your viewing pleasure, "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" is a wonderful film. "The Guardian" gave it high marks for its screenplay & the lead actor; it has a 98% positive on Rotten Tomatoes; and Tom Hanks got rave reviews, rightfully so. I blubbed all the way through it on Disney+ but it's also on Hulu, Amazon Prime, RUclips Subscription and several others, but not Netflix. Take care! Thanks again. You are an 👼

I would be just like him walking along talking to myself. "Oh, look at that!" "Wow, that's what it's like." I love that he wanted to run back and tell everyone what he had discovered. He wanted so badly to help others he would have delayed his own joyous joining with the one mind. If only people understood we're all one and internalized it. It made me tear up thinking about how we are torn apart on Earth by superficial differences. We are learning though. I have seen progress during my own lifetime. We don't have our Indigenous children locked away in Residential Schools anymore like we did until the 1990s in Canada. The generous Mr. Rogers's of the world (like you) make this growth possible. 🌹💖

For someone that didn’t know who Mr. Rogers was, you described his personality perfectly. The noting of his commentary throughout the whole process, his need to absorb every detail, and his want to share it with others so they wouldn’t be scared is the epitome of who he was. He was such a big part of my childhood. Thank you for sharing his transition pictures!

My husband passed away as a result of undiagnosed stomach cancer. For years he was prescribed anti-acid medication and that was it. On his 50th birthday he collapsed and rushed to surgery where 60% of his stomach was removed. He lasted 2 month & 12 days in intense suffering. It was 9 months after our wedding when he passed. I could not be by his side when he passed, so for a moment there I hoped this was how his transition went, as it relates to the pain.
    Thank you Cash.

How utterly fitting that Mr. Rogers would want to go back and share what he had seen with "his children." Narrating each bit of the journey, too- so like him on his show. I was three when his show first aired, and I feel a bit sorry that Little Cash didn't get to enjoy The Neighborhood.
    Best to you, Cash.

That was absolutely Beautiful. I wondered if when he turned around on the dome if he was overwhelmed by all of the unconditional Love he felt. Even George Harrison was shocked by the enormity of it all. For somone living that shut off from his own feelings at first might have overwhelming. Then when he became part of Collective and splintered it lessoned the intensity and then he was back home. Free. Mr Rogers helped so many kids get in touch with their emotions. To find in themselves what he never really allowed himself to touch. Something happened to put him on this course of putting his neck out to speak to anything that helped kids. To save them his pain. You said he had hidden parts, like he learned what expression to wear through his life. My brother in law does this.He too will put himself last. Watching my bro in law I realized how shut down he was in many ways. Also another very good man. Mr Roger's was the first one to speak to kids about divorce, death, bullying, etc. He taught them that talking about their feelings was good for them. A man truly before his time. This was during the 60s &70s. He reminded and informed parents that kids had feelings that were valid and needed to be heard. I always felt like he was as very good man that wanted to help children through things that he had walked through himself. Like loneliness, fear, anger or not feeling heard. He kept reminding adults that alot of things can effect kids. He talked about children's feelings when most didn't think about them. I watched the documentary about the man that was his neighbor. The documentarian knew him from the time this boy's parents were going through a divorce. He spent summers literally living in Mr Rogers neighborhood. He said Mr Rogers was the only person that asked how he was feeling about the turmoil of the divorce. Its a great and informative documentary but also a really sweet story about a very sweet man.Thank you yet again for all you do. Take Care of yourself please. StaySafe&BlessingsMyDarlingCash🦋
