Then after i t hit, suge night held him out the the window by his ankles from a 13th floor high rise till he agreed to sign his royalties So he picked up where he left off. Hes a multi million dollar designer & builder of super custom homes and commercial bldgs. He gots stacks.👍
Man,I just love your reactions. Good stuff! This song came out right around the time I was graduating from high school. I remember it was played on my senior class’ Grad Night on a cruise around SF Bay, where a bunch of us were doing the running man dance (don’t laugh, it was really big back then. The song was a huge hit. Most of us that lived through that time can still sing all the words. Anyway, keep up the great reaction videos.
The bass like is from Queen/Bowie "under pressure," you should check it out. He went broke. Suge Knight went to his hotel room, held him upside down by his ankle over the railing & forced him to sign over the rights to ice ice baby or they were going to take him out. He went into hiding until Suge went to jail then told the story on 60 mins. This song sold more than Michael Jackson thriller making it the most sold album of all time. I'm shocked you've never heard it. It's played all the time. When it came out it was on the radio 3 times every hour, at every house party, I even memorized the dance moves to it with a buddy & we'd break it out at parties. Skinny girls are way more attractive. No big boots Judy's, skinny Minnies only. This song was a crossover that was played both on urban stations & pop.
I think most of us saw the video on MTV before the radio~ it was an instant success. He only had a few big hits before he got robbed and run out of town by Shug Knight . He didn't walk away with much, I don't think. He went back to Miami and became a VERY talented and successful contractor. I still love this song. Great reaction!!

This song changed the industry. He went before congress on a copyright situation because the groove was sampled from Queen. He argued that he changed it enough to qualify as his own work. The precedent set the groundwork for decades of free use sampling and copyright payments for 35 years now.
Vanilla Ice made a movie called Cool As Ice. Saw him at a supercross race years ago. They had a celebrity race that he raced in that was in between the pro races.
No that song was first performed by the band Wild Cherry. Also the songs title is 'Play That Funky Music'. That song has no relation to Vanilla Ice. The song came out in the 1970's.
Listen, the song hits. The song, on its own, hits. Would it hit this well without the "Under Pressure" bassline? Nope. He should've gave Queen and Bowie credit from the get go.
He was great. I'm 57, and I was in the service stationed overseas when this came out. We all loved it, danced to it, played over and over. Deny it if you must; you're just lying to your self. This is a classic.

We're Tigra and Bunny and we love the boom😍
He just did this as a offer from suge night. He got rivh dedigning & building custom houses. Very famous builder. This was a one & out deal. Then after i t hit, suge night held him out the the window by his ankles from a 13th floor high rise till he agreed to sign his royalties
So he picked up where he left off. Hes a multi million dollar designer & builder of super custom homes and commercial bldgs. He gots stacks.👍
Love some Rob Van Winkle! He was a BMX pro before this, now he remodels homes.
We saw him on MTV before radio played it. His name gave it away too..
Still listen to this song today!!
Slow your roll bruh
im glad i stumbled across your page ..... your reactions are priceless and its a trip down memory lane being a 53 yr old male
The name gave it away directly to us as names normally at that time held clues
Love your animated expressions and enthusiasm - this indeed was a bangin' tune back in the day. Still sounds good. Didja notice the 5.0 on the side of the white convertible? that was a Mustang 5.0, hot car back then
I first heard him on MTV… the birth of music videos!
Now you have to check out "Informer" by Snow.
why?
why would you ever wish that on someone.
I’m sure he’s never heard snow and hopefully he never does,
unlike this song he’s heard his whole life and pretends like this is the first time he heard it
Nah Im good.lol
@@msabccbscnnoanfoxnewsThe man is 25 years old. I'm guessing no one in his peer group is crankin' Vanilla Ice. smh
@ I never mentioned anyone in his pear groups I mentioned the radio TV shows movies clubs dances elevators restaurants coffee bars you hear this song for the last 35 years which is why he’s listening to it today presumably for the first time which again I highly doubt
lol that dude was a dork
Loved your reaction! So fun to see someone experiencing this for the first time. It is a classic!
Kool Moe Dee- Wild, Wild West!
How can you have lived this long and not heard this song
He’s made his mark on history and should be respected. The 90’s were a special time.
This song changed the industry. He went before congress on a copyright situation because the groove was sampled from Queen. He argued that he changed it enough to qualify as his own work. The precedent set the groundwork for decades of free use sampling and copyright payments for 35 years now.
This song was legendary in the day
"Spinning smoother than Michael Jackson" is a huge compliment on his dance skills.
Vanilla Ice made a movie called Cool As Ice. Saw him at a supercross race years ago. They had a celebrity race that he raced in that was in between the pro races.
Bro, I have missed your reactions so much!!
Great to see you back!
Same energy, but you look healthier!
Happy to hang in the hood. As long as we are having a great time location (and sound quality😊) are less important.❤
Haven't heard that tune in quite a while. I really had a blast watching this reaction. 👍🏻
He had a song, " Play that funky music white boy!" That was another good song of his, too !
No that song was first performed by the band Wild Cherry. Also the songs title is 'Play That Funky Music'. That song has no relation to Vanilla Ice. The song came out in the 1970's.
@@andrewweldy7508 So many haters of Wild Cherry in the day. :)
I love your facial expressions! Makes me feel the music for the 1st time once again :D
I believe he wrote these lyrics when he was 16 years old.❤
15 years old
@@randywells4583 He told that he was 16. Just watch his reaction to his own video.
Loved MTV back in the days ❤
I love seeing "Collaborate and Listen" stickers on STOP signs.
One of my favorite songs of all time
I still to this day rock with one of my all time favs
🤗 🤓 😎
ICE ICE BABY
Your reaction was fantastic, and you've earned a new subscriber here1
back in the day we just liked the music we didn't equate race . that's sht started 2009
I still listen to this to this day. It’s a great track and his flow is fire.
Listen, the song hits. The song, on its own, hits. Would it hit this well without the "Under Pressure" bassline? Nope. He should've gave Queen and Bowie credit from the get go.
This.
He was great. I'm 57, and I was in the service stationed overseas when this came out. We all loved it, danced to it, played over and over. Deny it if you must; you're just lying to your self. This is a classic.
Rob ( Vanilla Ice) owns all the rights to all his music, boughr the righrs to David Bowie and Queen. He is balling in the real estate and remodeling business in South Florida.
