Lot of people that dont listen to metal think its aggressive or melancholic music. Nightwish is a great antithesis for that, since most of their songs make you feel happy rather than angry or sad. Btw. Did you know Floor had to learn the setlist (15 songs) in 2012 in just 48 hours when she was asked to replace Annette Olzon during Nightwish's Tour in te USA. She was contacted on her sister's (Irene) weddingday and the next day she sat on a plane to the USA. Note: Floor and her sister Irene sometimes sing together in AYREON's Projects. Irene mostly sings as a backing vocalist.
I absolutely love Floor with Nightwish. She took the band to another level in so many ways. She also took the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers (the one reaction you did) to another level and became an overnight sensation over here in the Netherlands. She shines very, very brightly on her own, and also in her bands before Nightwish. Cheers from Amsterdam!

Nothing will match Wacken 2013 for me. It was my very first introduction to Nightwish ever, 2.75 years ago. These other concerts are pretty good, but I like the song set and the whole atmosphere of Wacken 2013. All the other concerts are missing 2 things, Jukka ( the drummer), and Floor without tattoos. LOL And now all the newer stuff is missing Marko, starting with the virtual reality show. That's my take, and I'm Floored by all of Floor's solo stuff starting in 2019. She is the best. On a side note, the stage at Hellfest was so huge, it looked almost like Floor was doing a solo show.
i get so damn jealous that i cant see NIGHTWISH for the 1st time anymore. you two look like kids on christmas eve or morning. this is my favorite song it just gets into me from head to toe
I agree with Dominika's thought on Floor. She is so good in her solo projects and TV show appearances; but she shines so much brighter with Nightwish. With this group of musicians and songs she is "in her element". More so than any other singer I can remember. Great reaction again.

Nightwish is like a bunch of fantasy movies - without the movie.. Someone compared them to Lord of the Rings. In my mind Storytime+Song of myself + Ghost River is a ride to a childhood tales with scary and strange vibes combined with utter angelic beauty. Plus much more in their later music - almost religious, spiritual view to the universum / sensual, intimate humanity ( How's Your Heart) +++ Tuomas Holopainen is a genius

Until the Breakdown hits you with a 10 ton hammer it is all fun and games. But then the slow chugging monster with the machine gun riffing takes over. And for every Metal Head this lights up the day. Awesome….Imho one of the best songs ever. Sometimes the sky is piano black…. Floor Jansen, First of Her Name, Queen of the Valkyries and Stonehenge, Lady of Nightwish and Protector of our Metal Realm. Long may she reign. Bow, mortal !

Floor and Nightwish are a match made in heaven and why Floor has said that Nightwish will always be her priority but her solo stuff allows her to stretch herself artistically and creatively the same as Tuomas's side projects like Auri and Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck. You should at least checkout Floor's version of Shallow and Phantom of the Opera from Beste Zangers to see some of her top solo performances.

Ann Waychoff (R.I.P. 28-06-2020), mother of all NW fans would loved you two. This is the song she loved so much and is dedicated to hear. She was a lovely Lady and did welcome all new reactors. After she passed away Gabriel Bardac took over the torch and he is doing a great job too imho.
Ah my No 2. I'll enjoy this... There's much to say. The title is taken from Walt Whitman's Poem. Everything about the song is superb and this performance adds more - the pauses, pyro and Floor's positioning at the end. And Emppu holding that long sustained note with one hand while drinking a Corona beer with the other - showman as usual. Notice the dissonant pizzicato strings before the final section. This contains the best description of depression I have seen - Sometimes the within is piano black - about as deep as black can get. Note the personal reference again - "the same old Dead Boy's song". Marco's second entry, that rising gliss, is so good I have extracted it as my ringtone. Watch Floor doing Shallow on Beste Zangers, and singing her own song, Fire, on a TV show live. Your English is not at fault - there just aren't the words.
I'm surprised one of the Nightwish Army hasn't brought this up before: if you stop a video to give your thoughts or whatever, please roll your tape back 5 to 10 seconds back. Your excitement totally made me cry! I pay my respects to Ann W...and share her love for this song! When you go back and check the lyrics, you will read the spoken word poem at the end of this song. If you rewatch the video, you will see that poem on the big screen behind the band. It's hard to believe Floor had only been with the band about 10mos at this concert...all of the songs were written for prior female leads, but she totally commanded them all! Favorite song of the late Ann Waychoff, Mother of the Nightwish Army. This was song #14 of 15, right after Ghost Love Score. Andrei, you could always have the lyrics pulled up beforehand and have them beside you for the videos that don't have captioning.
Excellent reaction! This is an ingenious composition and I only figured out after many times through it that I'm always edge in the last section because of the interesting time signatures. Tuomas is a genius. Also, it's interesting to note that this song immediately followed Ghost Love Score in the Wacken setlist. Floor obviously still have a lot of lung power left! Thanks! This is actually one of my favourite Nightwish songs. My favourite is "The Poet and The Pendulum", but this one is very high on my list! It has so many cool things that are happening musically, like changing rhythms between 7 and 8, changing accents, all that stuff, but most importantly: it has SO MANY emotions! God, it's one of the most emotional songs for me. Thank you for this great reaction and keep going!
You guys being established fans now should just consider reacting to the new full concert they posted a few days ago at Hellfest 2022, just go in cold and react to 2 or 3 songs at a time. To me Wacken 13 stays unmatched. Every concert has its highlights, but if a song is played on Wacken, I'd vote for that one. With a few exceptions, for example the ending of Nemo from the Wembley concert gets me everytime. But I have to admit, that Hellfest 22 has some really great moments. And it was cool to hear, that Troy's voice kinda evolved. It fits now much better than on the online "concert".

Lovely reaction guys. Floor and Nightwish are a match made in heaven and why Floor has said that Nightwish will always be her priority but her solo stuff allows her to stretch herself artistically and creatively the same as Tuomas's side projects like Auri and Life and Time of Scrooge McDuck. You should at least checkout Floor's version of Shallow and Phantom of the Opera from Beste Zangers to see some of her top solo performances.
You should listen to Floor singing euphoria. Her voice is beautiful in that song.

Ann Waychoff (R.I.P. 28-06-2020), mother of all NW fans would loved you two. This is the song she loved so much and is dedicated to hear. She was a lovely Lady and did welcome all new reactors. After she passed away Gabriel Bardac took over the torch and he is doing a great job too imho.

Everything about the song is superb and this performance adds more - the pauses, pyro and Floor's positioning at the end.
And Emppu holding that long sustained note with one hand while drinking a Corona beer with the other - showman as usual.
Notice the dissonant pizzicato strings before the final section.
This contains the best description of depression I have seen - Sometimes the within is piano black - about as deep as black can get.
Note the personal reference again - "the same old Dead Boy's song".

I'm surprised one of the Nightwish Army hasn't brought this up before: if you stop a video to give your thoughts or whatever, please roll your tape back 5 to 10 seconds back. It's hard to believe Floor had only been with the band about 10mos at this concert...all of the songs were written for prior female leads, but she totally commanded them all!

Excellent reaction! This is an ingenious composition and I only figured out after many times through it that I'm always edge in the last section because of the interesting time signatures. Tuomas is a genius. Also, it's interesting to note that this song immediately followed Ghost Love Score in the Wacken setlist. Floor obviously still have a lot of lung power left! Thanks! Love you two! Don’t think you’ve done the opener from this concert, Dark Chest of Wonders? It’s the moment that most of the European fan base got to see Floor fronting Nightwish for the first time. It’s an epic tune and one of the best openers for any band ever!

This is actually one of my favourite Nightwish songs. My favourite is "The Poet and The Pendulum", but this one is very high on my list! It has so many cool things that are happening musically, like changing rhythms between 7 and 8, changing accents, all that stuff, but most importantly: it has SO MANY emotions! God, it's one of the most emotional songs for me. Thank you for this great reaction and keep going!
You guys being established fans now should just consider reacting to the new full concert they posted a few days ago at Hellfest 2022, just go in cold and react to 2 or 3 songs at a time. It's crazy good and in a lot of people's opinions (including mine) it is almost as good (if not better in some places) than the Wacken 2013 show. 😃🤘🥰

To me Wacken 13 stays unmatched. Every concert has its highlights, but if a song is played on Wacken, I'd vote for that one. With a few exceptions, for example the ending of Nemo from the Wembley concert gets me everytime.
But I have to admit, that Hellfest 22 has some really great moments. And it was cool to hear, that Troy's voice kinda evolved. It fits now much better than on the online "concert".
yeah, that was 14th of 15 songs from that concert, Ghost love score was 13th, I suggest you to watch entire concert Wacken 2013, it is amazing
