None of us expect you to share all details about your job/life. That would be unreasonable. But maybe a desk tour or fit of the day... You and Daniel are doing GREAT with Nora. She is so special!

You’re doing great! I’m sure you’re killing it at work. While it was hard to leave my kids at daycare, it was important for my mental health.
If you have small cross stitch you could frame it and make it into a magnet.

So I do embroidery and although I definitely have finished project that are just doing nothing, I usually stitch them onto a cream colored canvas reusable bag. Everyone needs a few of those. I just finished a large one for a friend that’s just starting chemo. I call it her chemo bag because it’s large enough for her to pack food and books in to occupy her while in the chair. She loves it!

I understand how you feel. My kids are 20 years apart. My son is 29 and my daughter is 9. I was a young single working mom and my parents took care of my son while i worked. My daughter i worked 1 month after my postpartum check up and have been home since. I regret not having the time for my son. There are alot of things i missed since i was so tired all the time. With my daughter we have been together 24/7 and home schooled her for the first 3 years and now she is in inperson learning at 3rd grade and i feel like i dont have enough time in the day to get everything done before i have to pick her up . Its hard but its worth it.

You’re such an inspiration and I appreciate your honesty and transparency through the years. You’ve gotten me through so many rough times and I just want to thank you for continuing to put out content in this super stressful time of transition for Americans and for yourself. It’s kind of weird to tell someone you’ve never met you love them but you do mean a lot to me and I’m grateful for you!

I used to cross-stitch as kid in middle school. I did it for a few years with my aunts. I eventually stopped because I didn't know what to do with them once they're completed. I ended up preferring needlepoint over cross-stich because I could make anything with needlepoint (coasters, tissue box covers, hand puppets, bookmarks, fridge magnets, doll/stuffed animal furniture, etc.). 🤷‍♀ You can cross-stich wall art (like, have it framed) for your daughter's room and/or your plant studio.... or wall art for any room in your place. 😅 Pixel art make great patterns for cross-stitch and needlepoint.

I keep my embroidery in the cheaper bamboo hoops and just hang them with a tack or nail, I also gift them like that!

When my girls were both still in diapers I had a full blown(I’m not joking here) mental breakdown. It was so damn hard-plus I lost my mom unexpectedly three days prior to the birth of my second girl(and my first was only 11 months old)..anyways-it was so so hard I literally cannot remember most of it. I try to, and I cannot. It is no joke staying home-it’s exhausting.. and I felt work almost was a reprieve from the massive stress of home. Then you feel terrible for feeling that way. It’s so hard, and yes fathers are wonderful, but they aren’t us and they won’t get it.

You could put the cross-stitching stuff into a quilt or on a bag. My grandmother used to frame all of hers and she put them up in her craft area... really, she put them everywhere. LOL. (She made an apple for each of her grandkids and had a grandkid wall with a big tree that had the family name on it... I may be remembering that a bit wrong, but it was something like that) You could get one of those frames that is for kids art and rotate them or maybe make an album (like scrapbook) with all the little ones.
Holding my sleeping babies was so wonderful when they were little. I loved soaking that in and held them as much as I could. I knew motherhood would change me, but I didn't realize all the different ways. It is crazy how motherhood is so different for everyone, but we are all together in that journey! I know what you mean by saying that you feel accomplished. I have been working for about a year after being a SAHM for nearly 10 years. It was such a change. I told my husband it is like my brain is totally different. I do feel a different sort of accomplishment by working. It isn't my dream job or anything (not even close), but I do other things to fill that cup. I tell my kids often "I was a person before you were born and one day you will be an adult on your own. I will still be a person then too. It is wonderful to be together, but it ok for us to have interests outside of each other." I feel like that is an important example to show our kids.

On cross stitch- I personally have never finished any that I’ve started- but - I’ve received many beautiful cross stitched gifts that have been framed behind glass. I’ve also heard of people make pillows. That’s all I got !

I use a dremel on my dogs nails because he’s afraid of clippers but also because with clippers you risk splitting a nail. It can take some time to acclimate them to the dremel but it’s sooooo worth it. I use my dogs food when we do his nails. He gets a few pieces of kibble for each nail and we no longer dread those days 🙌 We started out very slowly just doing one nail every day and worked up to doing every nail every other week or so

I totally know how you feel about going back to work and having a child aswell. I was like that too. I took one year off maternity leave. Only came home in the evening just to only spend so little time with them. Is even harder when they are so little and young. I am one of those Mum’s don’t like having a Nanny and child minders. I got my mother in law took care of my kid. When they start Primary School is alot easier not feeling so emotional about leaving them as they are more older to understand. Now i just work while my kid is in school and remotely which is so much better.

I hate cutting my 3dogs nails and I agree it is worth the price to have someone else do it for me lol but I do take mine to the vet, the at home people I have near me sometimes cut the quick and don't seem to be as caring as the vet techs at my vet so ya - the constant grooming for my shihtzu also is a lot but I commend you for doing it yourself!! mine go to the salon but I rarely do, maybe once a year HAHA

I think the thing is that you sort of can’t do both properly, you cant be 100% present with your child while also being 100% present in your career. Balance is key obviously but so hard to find it 😅 All we can do is try our best ❤
