Yeah, and the car eats the clutch for lunch. If you shift fast enough you have the clutch re engaged by the time the BOV is closed and the engine is already back into the power range and half way up to building full boost
Umm, a properly built turbocharged car, the BOV opens the very second a vacuum signal isseen by it. Which in that instant dumps boost, To say you can react fast enough.. well, to that I wish you luck.. because, it's not going to happen. Unless your driving something where 5psi is HIGH boost.. come talk to the folks that are in the 30+ range..
Nosfurato2 That's very true on cars with BOV's. However, on cars that aren't running crazy boost levels, they shouldn't have a BOV in the first place. If they're like me and running just under 19psi on stock turbo, they should keep their BPV. Shifting like that on on cars like mine will do more damage to the car than will ever make up for less than tenth of a second in the quarter mile (assuming they know how to shift properly).
