I grew up a couple of blocks away from there. We called it The Tinley park Funny Farm. You would go crazy in the round building because you couldn't find a corner to piss in!
@@riiiiiiiiiiiii4369kinda can’t go anymore, they are abt to demolish it and completely locked it down now. cut the grass, more security, fenced off the entire place
I went there like two years ago, and didn't encounter a single security guard. Now that they're actively deconstructing the buildings, I assume that it's more on guard.
i was there a week ago. they're really serious about security and that truck goes FAST along the roads. hiding in the woods is a pain because there is SO much poison ivy
Because there is no heat inside of this structure, there has been an abundance of people who have gotten in who have turned water on, and when it freezes or as it dries out that parquet floor will shrink or swell, and that's why it buckled like that! I went into my elementary. School back in 2010 on Detroit's West side. And there were classrooms with parquet floors in them where they looked like waves. Rolling into a shore , and that was because the windows were ripped out of the structure by scrap guys who broke the glass but only took the metal framing! There weren't even lockers in the hallways of the school anymore. Yeah , it's not uncommon for warped floors like that , especially when they're wood inside of a gymnasium to buckle up like that!
this place is a classic, i would only go at night to keep running from security easy. but they cut all of the grass down now and plan to demolish it...sadly
Years ago, there were military vehicles parked along the fencing, which surrounded it. There isn't much around the building, especially going east. Just open fields now with deer. Across the street of the entrance, there's a dark, lonely bus stop. Always creeped me out.
From all of your experiences, I'm convinced you have nerves of steel... and/or ice water running through your veins. Having worked in health care before, I have heard of the papoose. Traumatic for children and controversial in its use. Disturbing to even see it there! Glad you escaped without being seen...
The blue board that you asked about.... Usually they would be for a swimming pool rescue. That part of that hospital you were in was most likely the therapy ward. It is an older hospital. By the looks of the bathroom and the stalls with plumbing fixtures, it was built sometime in the late 40's early 50's. Which would explain the gym floor . By the way.... That little grate you and your girl ducked down on when you were trying to lesve.... Those are tunnels used to enclose the water and heating pipes for the hospital. Any hospital of that age did that with their pipes to create direct route to get the heat , water, gas and electric directly to each structure.
the place I was in during my teen years had one we called the flying green burrito. basically a papoose board with green canvas straps and a green canvas wrap with velcro to pick you up and take you to the "time out room"
You have to remember- in daylight the people outside CANNOT see inside through the windows due to reflection of the existing light. He could not see you, unless you were in direct sunlight. Same applies at night to people inside a lit room- cannot see outside if there is no external illumination due to reflection.

Asbestos is all in that place. It’s one of the reasons it’s closed. You guys need respirators on. Looking out for you.
