This demo in particular meant a lot to me and this is the first HQ video that I've seen of it. Love the crowd right perspective. Thanks for documenting it. I've always enjoyed your content. FEMA
FEMA is an incredible pilot and guy. I’ve met him a couple of times, including at this Oshkosh and he is so kind. He signed my F-16 50th anniversary shirt and I’ve got a couple pictures with him. I met him again last weekend at the Reno Airshow and he actually recognized me and my mom. Super sweet guy.
I will NEVER forget playing with my little model airplanes on the way to Andrews AFB airshow in the back of a 1984 Isuzu trooper… that’s exactly what the F-16 looked like, it was probably early 1990s and I was 8yo or so. Damn that brings back memories. Back when the B-1B was doing full afterburner passes. Loudest thing on earth lol. Also - the min-radius turn makes me want to throw up, we flew a WWII warbird into NAS JAX airshow a while ago and I finally got to grab some food after baking on the wing all morning… got to a food vendor right as the Viper demo dean started their run. I absolutely couldn’t believe the full AB min turn radius of that thing (and again, I’ve been watching the viper since I was a kid.) Such a cool and iconic aircraft. It’s pretty much “the” jet fighter.
Exactly the same here, on scale 1:72. Sometimes I wired it on the roof above my bed, like it was flying😄 . There was also a towtruck and weaponlift included, that I painted in orange.. great times.
The 1/48 Monogram kit was in this scheme, as was the Revell 1/72 kit. Revell's kit came with all sorts of accessories, something that. Models do not come with now.
hay ,, spencerhughes another great video , ,i been seeing photo of this paint scheme and finally search for a video to see .. how about some tips on how to keep plane/jet centered on a video ,, it is not easy but hard real hard ,, and i suck at it ,,, even using a tripod ..
1. Fighter pilots are gifted in that they can handle more Gs than the general population, 2. Trained to handle higher Gs, 3. Possibly G suit, although not sure if they wear them for airshow, I know Blue Angels dont
@@andrewpulda7969 Thanks - guys...I know most of this stuff...i just mean even with all of that, those Gs take practice to handle and its tough on the body...I am just saying that its impressive to be able to do it
MY FATHER GAVE ME AN F 16 GENERAL DINAMIC PLANE AT 1:15 SCALE WHEN I WAS A CHILD, THE SAME COLOR OF THE TEST PLANE WHEN SEEING THIS PLANE IN REAL, IT IS A NICE FEELING.
When the pilot taxied in the very beginning of the video, he held his right hand on the dashboard, rather than the stick, but the elevators were moving up and down as the plane rolled. Can someone explain why that was happening? Is it some kind of self stabilization, because the plan was rocking during taxi?
@@BillGordon-mj6qx oh, I know that it's fly by wire, which means the control stick is just a joystick and it sends requests to the computer that controls the surfaces. But my question is why do the elevators move when the pilot's right hand is clearly off the stick. And if there's a self stabilization mode, why is it on and on the ground. And even in flight, it feels like something like that would interfere with your control inputs. I've just never seen anything like that, so I'm curious.
Whoever decided to celebrate the F-16's 50th anniversary by painting this one like the original YF-16 prototype should get a raise.
And the one who didn't paint the radome, fired! 😅
@MrBen527 I love the prototype paint, and love the gray radome. Makes it look like it's still front line, combat capable. Because it is
@@barrymccockiner6641 All white radome would be perfect.
It was FEMA the demo pilot🤟
I just hope we haven’t seen the final days of the snakeskin livery they had been running. Both are stunning

FEMA
Thanks FEMA. Means a lot! One of the better Viper demos I’ve seen. See you in London!
I built this model back in 1980 and still have it! Watching this F-16 fly brings back childhood memories!
Does yours have the yellow tractor with the engine cart and the yellow access ladder to hang on the side of the plane? I've got that same model.
Built models of the F-16 with that livery when I was a kid. Great look.
Yep same here!
Sweet! I'm diggin the 1976 bicentennial paint!
It's not a 1976 bicentennial paint scheme, it's a replica of the F-16 prototype paint scheme from 1974

I love the throwback F-16 paint scheme because it is iconic! :)
Great work on the paint team, phenomenal flight performance by the airman, great coverage on event, well done!❤
Gorgeous! It's great to see this paint scheme honored by the current team!
NICE! HGU-55P WITH VISOR COVER 80's 0:25
I don't think I've ever seen vapor come off an F-16 like that and I live in South Florida. Great video!

The high speed fly-by was astounding!
This is the one they sell in museum stores..iconic
F-16 rocks ! 50 years and still one of the best fighter ever made! amazing livery and great agillity ! 👍
Great to see it in the YF-16 collors; only thing’s missing are the flags and white nose. Beautiful badass bird still!👌🏼
That liverie is just awesome 👌 👏
wowwowowow i really hope this is the same pilot and plane at Abbotsford Airshow in a few days
Nice paint colors on the plane. Cool.😊❤
This is peak F-16 livery. I will die on this hill.
That looks like the YF-16 Prototype
Same color✈️✨
Very good camera work!
The pilot is even using the old school, when it was a prototype helmet.
Well done.
Had this model back in, had to be somewhere between 85 and 90, great to see it in real life!

i remembered that livery in a model airplane kit growing up in the early 80s.
He also had a great ear. I talked to him a few times in the early 2000's. He had a high end audio company, Mapleshade. Interesting guy.

Man, that's a sweet little ship. Pierre Spray really knew what he was doing, huh? ;)
Still a great looking and performing aircraft
crazy to the the old paint job in the modern day

What a patriotic paint scheme it almost reminds me of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds
Lets get this man to 1M
*Spectacular 👏🏻*
How does that pilot handle those Gs ????
1. Fighter pilots are gifted in that they can handle more Gs than the general population, 2. Trained to handle higher Gs, 3. Possibly G suit, although not sure if they wear them for airshow, I know Blue Angels dont
In addition to what vince said the F-16 seat is reclined to reduce "felt Gs" on the pilot.

1 shot. 1 kill. F35 from a hundred miles away. Old skool.

Full time fly by wire flight controls.

@@XfilerDcould be due to the connection between the rudder and elevator
@@XfilerD Because the plane is bouncing up and down while taxiing and the fbw flight controls are still trying to level it.
Painted as it was for the 1976 Bicentennial. 👍
Thats a beautiful bird!!
Hey young people, you too can fly these. Apply yourself.
Just spitballing here, but think of an F16 with just a little thrust vectoring.
Do not get in a knife fight with an F-16 Falcon with an experienced pilot as it will end badly for you . . .
Train video when
Should have painted the radome as well 😅
I think it's got a rubberized coating on it that won't take paint, unfortunately.

Vapology right here
As a former crew chief who spent 10 years on Vipers, I can say we have the most boring air shows ever. So many better Viper routines than this.
