      @@aronsgarage834 you wouldn’t happen to know if my Accelerator pumps diaphragm being torn would be the cause of why my bike was leaking gas out the carb?

    • @aronsgarage834
      @aronsgarage834  2 года назад

      Not really. If you got a carb, it would be due to your float needle valve being stuck open because of debris or valve being worn out.

      @@aronsgarage834 ok man. I found the rubber on the needle was split/ coming apart.
      Previous owner had it sit for a long time. Here in the state of California our gasoline has 10% ethanol which eats up seals etc

      It’s always a good idea to change needle and gaskets when you get a new bike. Highly recommend getting a good quality rebuild set and you needle will last many years.

    Thank you for your wonderful videos. My CV 40 is very dirty in the body and piston ,with smoke depoists for the back flame return. I would ask if you recommended to use a ultrasonic bath with hot water and detergent, or it can be dangerous because much aggressive solution? Excuse me for my poor english, regards, Stefano

      Hi Stefano, thanks for your feedback!
      Yes, you can use an ultrasonic cleaner. You just need ultrasonic carb cleaning solution. I use it all the time.
      Or you can just use a carb cleaner spray. It works great too.

      @@aronsgarage834 thank you. Do you think that can be dangerous (for the plastic parts )wash the body of the carburetor in a hot ultrasonic bath? I think to the inlet fuel and the ring over the depression valve. Thanks !

      @@aronsgarage834 I find the beta 9881u alcaline solution , I think that can be right for the carburetor

      Do you still have the plastic fuel inlet? If so, the ultrasonic cleaner is not the best bet. If you do, you might want to change it to brass while you’re at it, cause the stock plastic ones break sooner or later.

    Hey what size bolts did you say we need to replace those screws?? And Great video BTW, my dad and I both Referred to your video in helping us both rebuilding are CV 40..

      Thanks, appreciate that.
      They are all 4mm bolts.3x8mm long for the accelerator pump housing, 4x 14mm for the float bowl, 4x16mm for the top cover. Well, I’d say 3x16mm and 1x20mm where you attach the throttle bracket. Plus you need one 5mm bolt which is 10mm long for securing the bracket on the side. Hope it helps

    Hello. Is normal that when I rotate it of 180 degree my float bowl ( with anything attached to it), I listen that something move inside? Thanks a lot. In the last, for the bronze fuel inlet, do you recommended the CV Performance model?

    • @aronsgarage834
      @aronsgarage834  6 месяцев назад

      Hi, yeah that’s normal. It’s just the little valve (steel ball) in there.
      Cv Performance inlet is very good.

    The float needle seat doesn’t have to be replaced?

    • @aronsgarage834
      @aronsgarage834  8 месяцев назад

      Only if it’s worn. It would be a very high milage bike.

    Are 3 turns out of the Mixure screw also for the stock setup? Some guys here on YT recommend 1 3/4. So did i After removing the Factory plug.

    • @aronsgarage834
      @aronsgarage834  3 года назад +1

      1 and 3/4 should be adequate for fully stock. You only need around 3 when you tune it to high flow air cleaner and pipes. What was the stock setting when your removed the welch plug? Should have been around 1 3/4

    What if the dampener on the float needle is stuck ?

    • @aronsgarage834

      Then your needle will wear out too soon. It needs replacing. They’re quite cheap..comes with the rebuild kit
