Every one of these videos has some cool pro tips! Believe it or not, some instructors still say heat tools or hair dryers are "cheating" in watercolor. Show us the law that says watercolor has to be subject to random ambient temperature and humidity! Love the toothbrush spatter technique too- it works with just about any wet medium!
What a nice comment, thank you! It’s funny how so many people try to impose “rules” on a medium. The best part about being an artist is that there are no rules, only best practices. :-)
Beautiful!! Two of my grandchildren spent a week in Alaska…however, it was summer there, which meant it never got totally dark at night. That was a great perk, however, it also meant they didn’t get to see the northern lights. I’m thinking this would be a great surprise if I painted this for them. I’ve seen several paintings of the northern lights, but this seems to be the most natural looking. Thank you so much for posting this ….I know my grandchildren will love it!! I’m partial to your landscapes…but anything you post will be so appreciated. I look forward to all of your postings on RUclips❤️
Thanks for another great tutorial! I find I spend so much time setting up my palette (i just started using a ceramic deviled eggs plate that I LOVE! Not very portable though). I keep looking for resources that have what 12 or so basic colors I should use for a wide variety of paintings, but everyone has a different opinion! Im an art teacher who has never really gotten into watercolor, but I want to teach my students this year so I’ve been practicing all summer!
This is beautiful. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Also, I just started watercolor, and even if i tape my paper down all edges, it still rises up. Does that happen because of it being the wrong paper, or because I paint too wet?. ...
Gorgeous painting! Whenever I see a night sky painting they almost never come alive until the stars are added - and then...WOW!

The spatter effect? So that's the proper name for it! I just call it "starry night"!
Also, loved the tape-peel at the end! So satisfying!

I absolutely loved this 🤩. I’m going to try it tonight. What tape do you use ? . Mine always bleed
Have fun! I use washi tape or Blick artists tape.
Please make landscape or waterscape paintings:)
What kind of dryer is that?
Can you paint on stretched canvas with water color?
Not as is. You would need to prepare it for watercolor with a few coats of watercolor ground.
so please do beginner level

Thank you. Your painting is beautiful
I think I'd prefer a Kusawa lake.......
