  • Welcome to my watercolor tutorial where I'll guide you through painting a breathtaking scene of Northern Lights dancing across the night sky over majestic mountains. Watch as I demonstrate step-by-step how to create vibrant and ethereal skies using Winsor Green (Blue Shade) for the auroras and Prussian Blue combined with Mauve for the deep, mystical night sky.
I'll show you the wet-on-wet technique, allowing colors to flow seamlessly and blend beautifully to capture the essence of the Northern Lights. Once the sky is set, I'll paint striking mountain silhouettes, adding depth and contrast to the luminescent backdrop. To enhance the scene, I'll sprinkle white accents to mimic stars and bring the night sky to life.

Namaste! Absolutely beautiful. I personally love painting Northern lights. This is not meant as a criticisim of your wonderful results, but I would have added a touch of opera rose, teal, and a very small touch of green gold to the Northern lights. Again, a wonderful tutorial. Thank you so very much for sharing it with us.

Namaste! Thank you so much for your kind words and valuable feedback. I truly appreciate your suggestion to add opera rose, teal, and green gold to the Northern lights. While I understand your point, I aim to keep my tutorials beginner-friendly by using simpler color palettes. However, I will definitely consider incorporating these shades in future tutorials for those looking to explore more advanced techniques. Your support means a lot, and I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!
