Brilliant interview, really enjoyed that you guys just let him speak and the questions were just enough to give JG an opportunity to expand. Hopefully you can speak with more Villa legends in the months and years. Keep up the good work lads, UTV
Fantastic comment - means a lot mate. As Dan says, few bits in the pipeline, one of which we're hoping to reveal a little more about tomorrow so stay tuned to our social media across the day for little updates!
Also remember the home match against Athletico as still one of the best atmospheres I have ever been at! That Collymore top corner goal sent everyone wild!
Another fantastic video guys. Great memories from JG. My ship was at sea when we played Atletico Madrid at VP and we managed to pick up the tv signal somehow. What a game and so, so close! Looking forward to more of this series. UTV!
Dan Bardell thanks for this you have just made my day👍. The very fact that JG loves one of my memories of him and the Villa is is fantastic! Thanks again to you and everyone at TVV for helping cheer up us expats😎😀!
Thank you for watching mate! Without people watching our stuff there would be no TVV - the more support we get the more we can bring 'bigger' projects like this to our fantastic subscribers.
The Villa View You're the first channel I look for to see if there are new videos. Wouldn't miss them! Keep up the great work we all depend on you 👍. Looking forward to more great content already.
Great interview and can't wait for part 3. Making me re-live the good ole days down at the Villa. Have to agree with the gaffer, Stanley Victor could have (should have) been the best English footballer of his generation, he had everything. Englands Ronaldo (the original one) Keep up the great work lads.. #UTV #VTID
Brilliant Interview! More of a discussion allowing JG to speak freely and hence great insights into that time. JG a true cockney villain who loves the clubs to bits. Some great records we achieved with him - look them up. JG TRUE Legend up there with Sir GT, Big Ron, Sir Brian and Ron Saunders.
sniff rat he genuinely couldn't have been any nicer, first time I've ever interviewed anyone famous and he put me at ease immediately. Great when your heroes turn out to be great.
John is what we need in the club proper villans who no villa and what it takes to play for villa a conveyor belt like what liverpool did for there managers, great vid topman John vtwd!!!! think ian taylor laursen mellberg etc wat a conveyor belt ay 👍👍
Great days. If he would have had a bit more backing when we were top who knows? He made some great signings and got us playing with so much belief and passion. So many brilliant memories of that time, with the best probably the comeback vs Arsenal in November 98.
Dan Bardell I'm sure you and Matt have your own ideas, but would love a few of these to appear in their own interviews in the future (I was born in 84): Ian Taylor, Lee Hendrie, Dion Dublin, Paul Merson, Ugo Ehiogu, Alan Wright, George Boateng, Shaun Teale, Kevin Richardson, Dean Saunders, Brian Little, God. Absolutely loved the Little and Gregory eras. Love this channel guys.
thumper151284 you may get some of your wishes 👀 We'd interview anyone, it's just making it happen that's the hard part!! I was born in 85 so imagine we share same heroes!
Was a brilliant watch.. loved the JG era! Btw.. why not recap some vault memories uploading extensive highlights of both Liverpool and Atletico Madrid games he spoke about. UTV!

Legend John Gregory
Could sit here all day and listen to John Gregory talk about old football story's, legend!!! 👍👍👍
Us too!
Great video and great memories. Villa were looking like relegation certainties. John G comes in and we start playing like champions. Unbelievable.
Unbelievable is the word. Must have been a crazy time for JG thinking about it, to go from Wycombe to Atletico Madrid within a week is mind blowing.
The sporting argus is the pink paper, used to get excited every Saturday afternoon for that paper. Showing my age now.
Also remember the home match against Athletico as still one of the best atmospheres I have ever been at! That Collymore top corner goal sent everyone wild!
Pink Evening Mail was our beloved Sports Argus. Saturday nights were never the same without it! Great vid lads
David Bardell I never saw you with a sports argus ever considering it was "beloved"
You weren't even born, son. Not even a twinkle in my eye...

Great to hear you enjoyed it! We enjoyed being able to just give him a free reign to tell his majestic stories.
Absolutely brilliant again lads. 12 out of 10. What a lovely humble man John Gregory is. UTV VTID
He is a brilliant man. The stories match his personality. In total awe. Great to hear you enjoyed it! UTV

never knew JG was such a nice guy. I always had him down for being quite cocky and self-confident. Great interview lads
