This a great interview ... best one from anyone during this lockdown period. Know he's made mistakes but his honesty is appreciated and I'll remember him for the good times at villa #AVFC #UTV
Awesome, great hearing Gabby speak so freely and honestly, rare that he does anything like this. A club legend for me always, his love for the Villa was and is undoubted!. Wish we had a striker like him these days.
Top man Gab. Can't fault his loyalty to the club. Rare thing these days. Interesting insights to what went on with various managers behind closed doors. Let's hope we stay up, our new owners turn their phones off this summer and we can build a side around Super Jack to rival Martin's O'Neill's of the 2000s. UTV.
Have a lot of time for this guy. He sounds humble and clearly put the effort in to reach the heights he did. Was so exciting to watch. Great to have a special player that fans of other teams (around the world) would mention and know as a dangerous player. Thanks Gabby!
Great and Honest Interview, shame really as all that partying and the depression he went through caught up with him, had had the mentality on a Harry Kane/James Milner and looked after himself like he did when he built up physically he could have played for another 3 years at a good level. Cant take it away from him though, Villa's leading premier league scorer and a good local lad.
1:00 I was one of the kids hanging round the shop. He lived dead opposite my mom's house!! And the park he played in was the reck lol can't believe how he has become a villa legend. Fair play to you gabbs.
His one brother went to grammar. People slag gabby for being thick but thats more so a bit of hype because he sounds thick cuz of his accent and delivery.
As a Sunderland fan, I have memories of him tearing us apart. He always seemed to play well against us. Very underrated player natural talent and incredible speed and strength. I’m aware Sunderland are shit🤣.
When he was good he was extremely fast and powerful and if he didn't find the finish he would cause big problems. He definitely was a useful player in his pomp.
Always liked Gabby and thought he got some warranted stick but a lot of unwarranted stick. He definitely became part of a group of players who were scapegoats for what were issues from a club that was rotten from the top down. Great interview, thanks as always for making lock down enjoyable!
@@erdingtonsfinest937 probably my first or second favourite ever away game (the other 1 being united away where gab scored the winner) but yeah we played unbelievable that day… will always remember it fondly
Oh gabby gabby. Gabby gabby gabby agbonlahor . 🔥🔥🔥.. How i wish this man was still playing my favourite Villa player of this era .. He Villa true and true hopefully jack follows him and stays 🦁🦁🦁
Good interview, but I would have really liked to have heard more about the relegation season and what happened when Remi Garde was in charge and when Lerner decided to turn his back on us. If you do get Gabby back, I think Villa fans deserve to know what really happened in the background of that season. As fans we went through hell, watching a squad who didn't give a crap about going down and leaving the club to ruin. Cheers for the memories Gabby.
I dont think the squad wanted to get relegated. But I think our toxic fans helped the cause by getting personal and crying when we lose a few. It's not helped us this season neither(whining about wesley and our defence). Our "fans" are really deluded at times
Gabby mentions all the pissing about the lads did during our most successful years of recent times. Is this the missing part of the formula at the moment? When they get back to training, I reckon Tyrone should walk up to JT and just custard pie him straight in the face! Then, we'll finish the season with another 10 game unbeaten run! 😆
I agree with gabby on the subject of Petrov and giving jobs to ex players. I think ex players should be given a job as a coach or u18s coach or something. They could teach players a thing or two. And I think Villa were a selling club buy I'm hoping the owners back up what they say and keep our key players and build rather than sell
Can understand them not giving out jobs all over the show but surly if he wants to come back that bad they can find something for him to do, even if its only assisting current coaches or something, the mentality and winning attitude from ex players that love the club can't be underestimated, could breed that hunger into the next generation.
Totally, it's a no brainer. Petrov personifies hard work and his quality as a player speaks for itself. That could only benefit if it rubs off on the next gen. Interesting to hear Gab's opinion on Di Matteo. We clearly had a clown at the helm.
I’m amazed that the best period of football we’ve had in recent yrs under o’neil never really had any structure in training. i’m amazed Villa had no set play tactics or anything
Played Gabby's brother in a sunday league match at Barr beacon school 😂 guy was an absolute tank 😂 still marked him out the game,he wasn't a scratch on Gabby
Gabby mentioning that Acocks Green being a Blues area. I moved there from Kings Norton 10 years ago with a Villa scarf in the back window of my car. Woke up the next day and someone had stuck chewing gum in all the locks and keyed BCFC in the side of my car. Lmao
Likeable bloke, Villa through and through. Lengthy career with us, decent goal return(nowhere near spectacular)- I thought his best era was under MON when he had Carew, Milner, Young around him.... His last coupla seasons with us were really bad though.
I dunno if anyone watches HITC, but the Irish guy seems to think Gabby was just plain awful and not deserving of being a Villa legend. His argument being "13 years sponging wages from a single club is not enough to make you a club legend." My argument: Agreed, but being the clubs all time record premier league goalscorer is the very criteria that does. Gabby is a true Villa legend. No doubt.
i reckon Grealish won't stay - just a hunch- i reckon he will have a great euros and then he will start saying how much pep is brilliant and all of a sudden play for Newcastle !!! TBC
ollydearden I thought I would never forgive Gabby for the unprofessionalism he showed us but it wasn’t just him the whole team let us down but at least he has the nuts to come out and apologise to the fans and admit his faults, time is a healer he give us more good than bad over his career as a whole I won’t go as far to say he’s a club legend but a very important player in a good era for us under O Neill I wish him all the best in his future ventures and who knows maybe there might be a role for him in the club in the future UTV
You shouldn't of been a footballer cos u were absolutely shite your scoring record was on par with macheda at United. U were like Steve Harper just stole a living
This kid was so overrated apart when he played the blues, massively overweight when we needed him the most (relegation season) Roy Keane got him spot on
I aint gonna lie, your a talented writer. I could see why you would opt to work with them. Your an absolute credit to their unworthy name. And since I’m being honest I’ll just be straight up with ya as some one that whole heartily supported Villa View it feels like we got shit on by the Birmingham Fail! As some one that’s not able to get to games, having that outlet was a massive massive thing. I don’t think you can underestimate how important that was to Villa fans, to hear the opinions of those that were there is invaluable! It feels like our channel got poached from underneath us. For a two bit click bait publication that can’t even be bothered to spell check itself. I mean this with all sincerity, its a genuinely legitimate question: Is most of what gets published typed up on the writer’s phones? Because that’s honestly how it feels. I expect it of Melbergs Beard, but not of a local publication BirminghamFail is genuinely bad for peoples mental health. That’s why I don’t read it any more. All I see is knife crime, killings and negativity. It might have stood for something respectful back in the day. But these days it’s a real discredit to the city it really is
@@poeticmic6219 obviously there's not a great deal I can say to reply to you, but I hope we can change your mind, honestly. Claret and Blue is just one way we want to do that. ♥️💜
Constructively, the website is atrocious in terms of layout, advertising and general content. It's an abomination in my opinion. That's not in the hands of those who genuinely care about Villa. I would also imagine given the nature of the paper and the sister papers around the country that revenue generation via advertising via clicks is unfortunately a big influencer. Recycling of content to bring in the clicks and spurious headlines to sensationalise information doesn't work for many readers. Half the time it puts me off clicking, most of the rest of the time I regret clicking. I see Claret and Blue as full of people who love the Villa but who have at least one hand tied behind their back in terms of what they can do. So, be fair to the journalists who work there because I believe they are capable and passionate of giving the fans the content that they deserve. Villa View was exceptional. In its absence we have more content and some strong player access from Claret and Blue (just needs to be heavily filtered by each user) and deeper great content the rather good 1984, The Athletic. That's pretty good.
How? O'Neil was the only manager that utilised him properly as a striker. O'Neil told him not to bulk up but he wanted to because he was scrawny and used to get pushed around. Agbonlahor ruined his own talent. Still rate him for what he did for the club though
This a great interview ... best one from anyone during this lockdown period. Know he's made mistakes but his honesty is appreciated and I'll remember him for the good times at villa #AVFC #UTV
Such a now historical player.
Some may say a legend.
No one will ever forget that acceleration and pace
Superb player
Thankyou gabby
Gabbys a legend, don’t care about the wavering performances towards the end, man sorted us out for years won’t hear a bad word said about him.
At his best when Martin o Neil was in charge what a team we had then great to watch
WHAT A GREAT INTERVIEW AND INSIGHT FROM GABBY!!

great interview one of my favourite ballers for villa
glad to hear stan the man petrov still going and doing well

good interview. Interesting thoughts from Gabby about having ex players in youth coaching roles. Up the Villa!
Great interview! The fish in the car story had me in stiches!! Cheers Gabby.
What's funny about that?
Go on Gabby, only one who stopped to sign my shirt at Norwich away ages ago. UTV
We could use someone like Gabby at the club around the players, coaching in the dressing room etc..
Great, honest interview. Thanks for your service Gabby and good luck in the future.
Love this guy.. Absolute villa legend

Gotta love him, granted at 1st he doesn't come across as the brightest, but he does speak a lot of sense. Top guy
His one brother went to grammar. People slag gabby for being thick but thats more so a bit of hype because he sounds thick cuz of his accent and delivery.
I ain't gonna lie...😂 that was a great interview Gabby. 💜💙
Just for his goals against Small Heath...Amen!
scored a fair few against united as well

Top Interview Gabby! What a Legend !
a loyal villan, and man he was fast, utv
Your one of us we want u down there every game

Great interview, thanks as always for making lock down enjoyable!
On his day he was a dangerous player. Fast as f**k. That away game when we beat arsenal he was lethal.
Yeh mate him and Young absolutely terrorised them. We missed a penalty aswell. Remember that game well!

As ViILLA as any VILLAN could be....respect.
Brilliant interview really enjoyed it I could listen to Gabby's tales from the dressing room forever.
One Man Wembley was massive in Stockland Green back in the day. Marsh Lane, Witton Lakes. Jumpers for goalposts. Good Times.
Nice one gabby. Derby king. Mellberg next please :)
One club man! 💪🏽
UTV!
Great interview . He seems cool
Love you Gabs ❤️❤️❤️
He is a legend for the villa
People forget just how many goals he scored!
Weird taste in wallpaper though
Great job
thanks for this!

Villa should hsve finished ahead of Arsenal in 2009
Fast as fuck
He has his haters but you can't question the man's passion for Villa!
Did anything emerge from the O'Neill era that wasn't disappointing?
top guy

Hilarious, got to love the bloke. Played hard partied hard ' do you know what I mean'.

Gabby "does that make sense" Agbonlahor
The Birmingham accent is the fucking thickest sounding accent ever I'd rather be a mute than talk like that
