    i am not sure if someone is gonna believe me, i dont care either but found surprising the amount of videos of terminator cpu ryu level 8...but here we goes. there is a tactic for the ryu cpu level 8. it has read input. not AI per se in some stuff. The jumps, the cancelling of yours drive impacts with a counter drive impact and with supers and some other stuff....just like sf2 classic in arcades, where the machine had plus frames, impossible times, and such. you need to smash it a little bit ( i guess there must be some code in there that makes the cpu eat stuff when you do some mashing) and then with pokes without negative you can have it always at bay. just let the machine try something. it is ready to react. but not to strategize. and with plus frames pokes, most of all you avoid being beaten by those super flashy combos

    At 1:04:40 Sajam says "Most of the time the execution is not incredibly difficult, but making the right decisions is so hard." I think that is part of why they can make Modern controls work in this game, by making strategy a bigger part of the skill differential the game can offer players an execution aid and it doesn't make them good players. It's so easy to burn yourself out with assisted combos on modern controls.

  • @Mene0
    @Mene0 Год назад +22

    • @ShermTank7272
      @ShermTank7272 Год назад

      I think that it is _sort of_ a valid argument that a player might be used to at least waiting through a loading screen, during which they could shake out their hands or otherwise calm their nerves or something. If I'm on a losing streak or something, I've used the brief loading screens to gather my thoughts and shake off my nerves a bit.
      Ultimately though, this will be a net positive. The option to instantly get back in the action outweighs that minor issue. Once the playerbase learns to take a moment _before_ hitting Rematch instead of after, I don't think we'll hear any complaints about this feature.

    • @joedatius

    about instant rematch (or faster animation in general) This might be a bit of a controversial take, but I think that they do have some influence on the pacing of the game.
    For example, in guilty gear, when you get wall broken, you get this opportunity to reset mentally and prepare to get put back in neutral. If the moment doesn't last as long, you don't really get a chance to "take a breath". And I'm sure you'll agree that it feels very weird when playing on Castle of the Silver Feet (Ky's stage) that the wall break is almost instant.
    Anyway, although I sometime also wish end screens would pass faster, I definitely apreciate the "mental reset" moment they provide (:

    Can't they just go the easy route and make it so each player has to hit ready to start up the rematch? That way if you're ready to hop in you're good and if you need to take a second blanka flip in celebration you can do that too. Maybe they already have that. I dunno...

    About the fast rematch thing, yeah it's definitely pretty nice to be able to rematch instantly without having to go through intros and such.
    However, I do think that maybe a reason why there are people against such a change is because it presents a kind of slippery slope. Yes, we don't really need to watch fight intros/outros for the millionth time years into a game... but then again, we don't need a lot of stuff in a fighting game, do we? Do we need to see cool super cutscenes? Why not just cut to the damage dealt? Do we need to even have cool looking effects or graphics? None of that is "needed" in a fighting game.
    Remember MVC:I? Remember how the devs were like "Lmao you don't need X-Men characters because we have other characters that do the same thing gameplay-wise" and the FGC community hated that? What exactly was the cause of outrage of that?
    Now, I do have to reiterate, I do like the fast rematch thing, as I am a FG player myself. But I just do want to add some food for thought.

    one thing that bothers me a bit about slippi, the melee online client, is the fact that the win screen was completely removed from the game. I don't know if there was a technical reason for it but it bothers me because you practically can't take a moment to catch your breath, when the match ends you get sent back to character select instantly, where if you don't immediately ready up your opponent will just think you're stalling or AFK, and there's no time limit on character select so people just leave if they get tired of waiting. Finding a moment to breathe in between games is crucial in a game as fast as melee, and I would gladly take a 3 second long winscreen in between games even if it means rematches are no longer instant.

    Honestly in tourney settings rematch should not be instant. There should be a small break between matches to reset mental

      That's for the players to decide. If they both want to get straight back in they can. If they want to take a moment then they can.

    now that you mention i noticed this when they first show it and now i remember. it makes complete sense. you need the commentator (the main, which is the one who explains what happens in the moment) and the secondary which adds more emotion and tactical and strategy analysis. we need 2 commentators. i EXPECT from the mod community (i hope im sparking the beggining ...) to make use of chatgpt for strategy analisys and if this already doesnt exist, a model which can modify voice tone and based on some samples can make all the "emotional" comments needed. imagine 2 years from now , we could have not this input reading bot ryu level 8., we could have alpha go Ryu and that wouldnt be the best thing, we could have an AI comentator which as much passion , first, and seconds, as much or more and better strategy analysis of the match than a human. Even AI coachs for the pro gamers. but i am just.... just..??? dreaming? ;) WHAT I NEED AND WANT I JUST REALIZE. AI coach with voice in real time. it would be legit and you could improve your game and have more fun in ranked let's say.

      @@tzera_rhuontzera i know im walking a really far line or extreme would be more specific. but wouldnt be a better AI a best rival and a more fun one to play against instead of a input reading cpu? or you know, we normal players dont get to have a commentator of our own unless with this kind of tech, which capcom started experiencing with. or what about instead of playing with the mentoring of a youtuber that was once a pro player for coaching, get it for free on your own hourse customized for you?
      in anyways i think that if you refered that perhaps what i told imply too much AI, yes it does, but always to enhance the experience. never to make it fully autonomous or without humans. and now that you made the joke... what about the company the programs the best Ryu? alpha go or open ai , where is your bet? cheers mate!

    the problem with skipable win quotes and poses is that if you dont skip your automatically an asshole.
    so dont skiping if you need time kinda doesnt work since you feel forced to do so, specially considering all those players who block others because whatever reason except lag

      It's not that deep TBH. I'm out here chilling in Strive online and if someone wants to take the 30 seconds before running it back, go for it dude. Nobody cares.

      @@oddyw3422 Agreed. I don't know where people get the idea that the person on the other side of the screen is raging over taking 10 seconds. But honestly, if someone gets that mad because you take the time to sip some water and crack your knuckles...then fuck 'em. Maybe they should remember how to play nice with others.

      @@oddyw3422 yeah people should have to option to skip or not skip. If someone wants to wait till the clock runs out then I'll just decline the rematch myself. But for people who both wanna get back into the match. Why make them wait?
