- The recent escalation of tensions between Canada and India is making matters worse for Indo-Canadians trying to travel to India.
Canada pulled 41 diplomats from India Friday.
"It was almost like a bombshell," Gill International Travel president Paul Gill said.
As Global's Christa Dao reports, the move came at a particularly bad time of the year.

For those who wish to study in Canada, there are some hard truths.
This country doesn’t have that many skilled jobs to offer. You must be ready to do labour jobs, possibly for a longer period. You may get frustrated, making you think that India was better.
The colleges over here are simply money making machines and the quality of people coming out of that is not great.
India is the happening place now. The job market is strong.
and even highly skilled white collar jobs don't pay well enough to afford buying a house, at least not in Toronto/Vancouver.

@@ChintzH-eo8gp capacity building will take time. There is no shortcut to it. I would say in 5 years we should have enough hospitals to service everyone. Private hospitals popping up was a good thing. It took a lot of load off from the government. With India's size we would need both.

Before granting OCI card, we need strong background checks about their intentions and activities. If they found in any shorts of anti national activities, OCI must be taken back. And before granting OCI card they must file affidavit sworning the integrity and sovereignty of india.

In this age of the internet / online stuff; it's surprising that brick & mortar travel agencies exist in Canada. I suggest always price your ticket online & then go to a travel store to enquire if they can beat the price that's available in expedia.

OCI is not required. If you are a foreign citizen, you are no longer given any special privilege in India because of your Indian origin. Simple.

I don't think it's Canada's job to make things easier for people with two passports. You already have access to CPP and Pension plans here but unless you live here full time you really shouldn't complain.
