  • The Ego CS1600 chainsaw is available as a bare tool (without battery and charger), or in a kit with the battry and charger. The model number for the kit is CS1604. This kit comes with the saw, 5 amp hour battery, and the standard charger. As of the posting of this video the current retail price is $329.99 for the CS1604 kit. In this video we were cutting through pieces of wild cherry wood from a tree that was cut down about 2 months before we recorded this video. This saw did very well. It didn't slow down, or just stop when it was placed under a heavy load, or if you tried to force it through the wood rather than letting it just do its thing. This is something that we found to be an issue with a few other brands of battery powered saws (ESPECIALLY STIHL!). The CS1600 just keeps cutting and makes it seem effortless. The other great thing about the EGO CS1600 and all of the EGO products in general is that it is a true ONE BATTERY FITS ALL system.

outstanding detail! This isn't as "reviewy" as many videos I see but that made it more helpful. Thanks for the effort.

Steve Mann he has a giant EGO banner on his wall.... Biased?? EGO coat as well. Did well at showing the features. Every saw has a con to someone and an unbiased review usually will produce at least one con. But that’s fine but he should let viewers know it’s a sponsored video

@@raynman67 NONE of our videos to this day have ever been sponsored! We also have Husqvarna banners and light up signs, Echo banners and signs, and stuff like that from other brands as well. Not sure where you even saw an EGO coat in this video. Maybe you should watch the video we did about the EGO string trimmer and check out the shirt that is worn in that video. As far as producing at least one con, what might be a con to me might not be to others so why waste people's time complaining about things like that. If there were cons that would be consistent for everyone that used the product, then yeah it would be worth noting. There's enough of other channels out there that are sponsored that will list every possible con (real or not) so no need for us to focus on finding them unless it is something consistent and would happen no matter when, where, or how the product was being used.

@@raynman67 One con that is a _very_ common complaint I've seen, is the chain adjustment has to be frequently adjusted otherwise it loses tension and it's thrown off the bar.

Still the best unboxing and review I've seen of an EGO chainsaw. Thank you! 💯💯💯

i've been using this saw for weeks cutting down multiple trees on my property and haven't thrown the chain once. Try checking it every so often to make sure the tension is right.

Good video. Just cut down a bunch of stuff with my old gas chain saw. I hate the gas. Gotta take a shower afterward just to get the oil gas smell out of all my cloth. Been looking at EGO. The only problem I see is once something goes wrong, and I have seen videos where it does, then it's often electronic stuff, and I am not trained in troubleshooting electronics. Believe me. I already have the ego string trimmer, and may get a chain saw, so not dissing it.

Has anyone run a cold test on this. Batteries drain faster in the cold. You ever left a flashlight out in the cold and it goes dead didn't bring it in and the light comes back on.

This saw has a known problem of throwing the chain, unfortunately I didn't read those reviews. No amount of tension adjusting makes ANY FKING difference!!! My other saw maybe threw the chain once in the last 30 years, but that was my fault letting it get loose. Before that I cut down about 100 Elm trees more than 100 ft tall with a HomeLite gas saw. Never threw a chain. This EGO saw threw the chain about 20 times (actually lost count) the first day I was using it. I'm not sure what the problem is with the saw but I suspect the bar is too flexible, so any side forces, especially in cutting small branches in brush, will kick the chain off. Avoid this saw like the plague.

I have had my saw about 2 years now and I was experiencing similar issues but now I think I learned how to use it and the only time recently is when I neglected to check the chain tension before I started cutting. I just purchased an Oregon chain and I am amazed how much better it is than the original one that was installed. What was a hard wood to cut even with my japanese hand saw cut like a hot knife through butter with this advanced cut chain.
