I had the 11 and now the hero 12 The 12 has a far more superior battery life, which, to be honest is definitely useful for my airsoft games which sometimes last 15 to 20+ min per round
no it does not actually. and I tested it compared to the hero 10 black. it overheats the same and battery last even less than on the 10 black, i mean the enduro battery.
Would be cool if you actually explained what that software update was instead of basically leaving us with zero useful information. Now I gotta look somewhere else to figure wtf you’re talking about.
Sorry about that! But every upgrade like the battery life HDR, and all the small updates they have done is entirely software based and I’ve confirmed this with gopro themselves. Would you like me to make a full video about this?
I tested the 12 myself after pre--ordering it and the lack of GPS is a deal braker. The marketed improvements in battery runtime and less overheating are just overblown. The real life tests showed otherwise. with that new bluetooth chip they could sell a GPS remote if they wanted.

5.3 K 60 and 4K 120 are on the Gopro hero 11 and the 9 x 16 aspect ratio is just cropping in on the sensor. Again, that’s all just software stuff. Yes, it’s a upgrade, but For those who already have to Gopro 11 or can get it for $100 cheaper. I think it’s worth it.

Get the 12, I just ordered it with accessories and extra batteries, etc. It's got the best battery life, plus new hardware features like image stabilization.

I would really say the hero 11 gets most of the Gopro experience. Again the Gopro 11 has GPS for the 12 does not. The only thing you really need to ask yourself is if you want the max lens mod 2.0 if you don’t want it then get the 11 if you do want it then I’ll get the 12.

The 12 also foes not have gps. So u cant add the speedometer, elevation or maps stickers
even so, that software improvement (and the absence of gps chip) reduce overheating and extend battery life. or so i've heard.

The GoPro Hero 12 has HDR while the 11 does not. That's going to make a huge difference in the quality of your videos.
In all the test footage I’ve seen I have not really noticed a big difference. But if you do then, definitely get the 12.
