I really feel honored that you have chosen to share this tutorial with us. and I'm happy to hear that even though you live in North America, you have kept and shared your traditions. I too was raised that things could be mended in one way or another and this technique is most beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing. I am definately going to try this.
I found this video on accident. I do not sew, but now I am obsessed with learning sashiko! Your tutorials are calm and thorough which is both relaxing and useful for beginners like me. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos! ❤️ I hope I can find similar thread at a store like Joann, as there aren’t many sewing stores in Atlanta.
I’ve been interested in sashiko for about 15 yrs now, and even took a class at a now-defunct fabric store in a quaint town about an hour away. In these particularly stressful times, hopefully learning about and practicing sashiko will give you a sense of peace. I’m technically still at the “learning about” stage. Now that I’m retired, I’ll have more time, after watching these videos, to get into the “practicing” stage.
You are very delightful to listen to. Joy seems to exuberate through your videos. It is obvious you enjoy your craft. That makes it very fun to listen to! 😊❤😊
Thank you so very much for sharing!! I stumbled onto your video and found it so helpful. I am starting to learn and wondered about the tools. Your very helpful!!! Thank you
I ran across sashiko while reading and viewing about embroidery. I was taking a break today from building new fabrics from old clothing and scraps and I was delighted to learn from this video that sashiko had a history of being used to do what I'm doing now! This is such a beautiful form of needlework. I can't wait to add this in to my new fabric creations.
So happy to have found you. I’m a beginner and still at the stage of watching videos. Exactly what I needed to feel less intimidated by this art. Perfect
Thanks for answering many of the questions I had regarding the thread. I want to practice the technique, but it's difficult for me to find the thread. Your tips have helped me a lot😊
This is such a beautiful way to repair loved items. I saw another video with the technique and it sung to me. Thank you so much. Your videos are wonderful, informative and so relaxing. 🙌 🙏 ❤️

Thank you for that helpful summary. Could you please add what markers you use for darker denim or thicker dark/black cotton? I find it extremely hard to get good markers, especially for curvy patterns and circles on darker denim.
I'm a new sashiko learner and found your video. This was very helpful. Could you share where you bought your cutting mat please? Thank you in advance! Looking forward to more of your videos. Have subscribed 🙂
I have just received my order of Shaskio needles and threads. I received 3 different types of thimbles. Do you have video explaining the different thimbles and their uses? You are helpful and delightful. I will be following your videos. Thank you!
Thank you! I don't have a video dedicated on thimbles yet, but you can check out this one on how to use the palm thimble! ruclips.net/video/M-5RXN6Tk4M/видео.html Have fun with your future sashiko projects!
Hello Xiaoxiao, Thank you for creating your videos. I am learning a lot and will start creating. Do you have a brand of erasable pens that work best? So many choices and varied reviews on their quality. Thank you for your time. Sherry
I am from the Philippines I like this craft in addition to my craft of crossstitch and crochet. My problem is where I am from I can not find the materials if your can help me on a suitable equivalent especially on the cloth. I want try your towel project with just 3 horizontal stitches. Thank you.
Hi, you can usually find the links of supplies in the description under the video. :) If Amazon is not available, you can try any loosely woven cotton fabric, like muslin or recycle your old bed sheets. Happy stitching. :)
If you are making decorative pieces, sure. But if you want to put on your garments for reenforcement purposes, I recommend you to use proper sashiko threads. They are more durable and breathable, also fast to dry. :) hope this helps.
Hi, thank you for your message! Happy to heat that you want to start sashiko. :) The three basics of sashiko videos on my channel should be a good introduction, otherwise, more videos on sashiko for beginners are coming. Stay tuned!
