    Thank you for a great video. Just did my 2021 Road King’s rear tire. Saved $400 on labor at the dealer. Especially grateful for the torque specs on the bolts.

    Kyle this is so helpful! My big question is how you are supporting the rear with the Jack Stands? I need to take the front and rear wheels off to have the tires replaced, but not sure how to safely secure the bike in the rear while working on the front.

    Good stuff, I'm over 2000 miles from home with a blown front wheel bearing on a '21 Road King and do NOT want to chance the ride to the nearest shop. Buddy nearby with a truck, Harbor Freight nearby with a lift, a few hand tools, your video, and off I go. Thanks!

      Are you sure you loosen the pinch clamp? Maybe too much weight still on the front wheel? Or screw the axel nut on a little bit and try to tap it out with a mallet

      @juliocordero1788 Год назад

      @MotoHeadKyle i complete removed the pinch clamp. And i tapped on it with the mallet. I had to keep hitting it with the mallet until it came off. Does it need to have grease for lube? Cus mine was pretty dry

      @@juliocordero1788I’d clean off whatever residue is on the axel and re-apply some silver anti-seize, that should help the next time you have to remove it

    Great video, thank you! Does it matter which way the grooves on the spacer face (left side if your looking at the bike). It looked like before disassembly, they were closer to the fork side but on reassembly they were closer to the tire side.

    • @MotoHeadKyle
      @MotoHeadKyle  Год назад +1

      Yes, sorry I’m just replying. The rings should be closest to the fork. I messed that up, I caught it a day or so later. A+ for noticing!

      @@MotoHeadKylewhat happens if t Jr e spaced is on with the grooves to the inside, versus facing the fork?

    • @MotoHeadKyle
      @MotoHeadKyle  Год назад

      i''m not sure if its grooved differently or not, but I would make sure the lines on the spacer is re-installed the same way it was beforehand. I wouldn't take a chance. Maybe someone can chime in, if they know a little bit more about that

    • @bthph88
      @bthph88 Год назад

      Mechanic at Harley told me it makes no difference, the grooves are for identification. BUT I read somewhere that the repair manual says to have the grooves on the fork side. I don’t have a manual so I can’t verify. Anyone have info?

    • @MotoHeadKyle
      @MotoHeadKyle  Год назад +1

      @@bthph88 @vincethrill457 From looking at it with a naked eye I couldn't see a noticeable difference. However just looked it up in the service manual it says "See Figure 3-3. Install outer spacers (2) with grooves on
      the outboard side." So according to that id install it as such

    He left out one very important thing....the front tire wouldn't clear the fender....so how did he stabilize the bike while loosing the wheel clamp & jacking up the scissor jack under the frame...I don't see any ratchet straps stabilizing the bike. That scissor jack would have to be positioned perfectly in the frame for good balance. That would be hard to do with the front wheel tightened in the clamp....be careful out there guys if you loosen that wheel clamp & it's not balanced perfectly & not secured down properly, it's going to fall!

  • @lqqkout4thedude
    @lqqkout4thedude 8 месяцев назад +1

    Strange. You mention in your video to take pictures of the spacers, but you've installed the front (brake lever side) spacer backwards. Grooves on external spacers should be on the outside according to the service manual.
