Great video Chase, love the way the bike looks. Great retro vibe and definitely in the running for my second bike. Only would add a tune and change seat, otherwise phenomenal bike and much better looking than the mt09
I think the XSR900 is great for more open roads where you can use the power, but if you live in tight city with tight mountain back roads, the XSR700 is such a good light weight bike with enough power and imo and even better grunty sound over the 900
What a gorgeous bike! I love retro modern bikes so I wasn't very keen on her looks but in time it grew on me a lot. I think my gripe was more related to the 700. This one is just beautiful.
Owned one for two months, then sold it and bought and MT-09 SP instead. Much happier with the MT-09 SP (comfort, rideability, flickability, wheelies and fun overall, riding position, etc).

I’ve had my 2024 for about 3 weeks. I painted my heel guards and headlight bracket matte black. Much more cohesive look! I also machined out another cutout in the heel guards to give them a more balanced look. Installed a Brogue Motorcycles tail tidy. Excellent bit of kit! ASV shorty levers give more adjustment range and look great. Lastly, I painted the muffler in a black high-temp ceramic. Just had 3 hours in the saddle riding down to Pine Mountain. That’s about as far as I want to go on a naked bike, but I had a silly grin the whole time!
@@krisvenema I went with a tail tidy from brogue motorcycles. They are coming out with several other accessories for them as well. Up there in price but install was super simple
@@jminch318 Ah, that is what I was considering anyway. I have one for my only-two-weeks-old MT-07, but I had not yet installed as I've been too busy riding. Will see if I can exchange. @@krisvenema It went pretty quick, I got one that already had new turn signals installed on it so I didn't have to bother with taking the OEM tail apart to get the turn signals out. It was pretty much take off seat, remove OEM tail, bolt new one up and make sure the turn signals are plugged in correctly
The bike actually weighs in at 425 lbs but the bigger question is have you seen the XSR GP rumors yet? That bike looks even more amazing!!! I was dead set on getting the XSR 900 but think I might wait for the GP.
OC, if you feel that it's a better platform than the other than yes. Personally, I like that crossplane sound more than the triple, but that CP3 does sound pretty good too.
Chose the MT09 over the XSR only because of the more aggressive riding position for the xsr. I hope they have an even more upright one one day as I love the engine and the look!
Almost bough this until I tested a 2014 BMW K1300R. The K1300R is an absolute monster and handles high speeds much better. The K1300R is a torque monster (140Nm around 8500RPM) and 180 HP (9200 RPM). The K1300R is definitely heavier but handles very well.
Great review as always. My local dealership has a Blue one arriving this fall, money down and it would be mine. Yes, looks are subjective. The design is a tough one for me to go bonkers over. Headers stuffed into an over-sized pipe, massive black wrap-around, headlight sticks out too far and bracket looks cheap, front end looks out of proportion to the bare rear end, same old rear hanging abomination, and a hard thin seat. Great power and lots of tech no doubt, but for me rarely used to it's potential unless autographing speeding tickets. But still, very tempting to go with that 890cc CP3 engine. I opened up 2 of your reviews in side-by-side windows to compare profiles of the XSR 900 and the CLX 700 Sport. The Blue paint and Gold forks are mesmerizing, but my CLX Sport feels great riding near it's potential and even better with a comfy seat. Apparently I prefer the front-end look of a flat nosed bulldog, lol.
Great video Chase, love that bike just have to shift faster on pulls or get rid of quick shifter. But with a flash and tune it would be a dynomite bike.
