Thanks God you exists , I was looking for a solution for ages . Thank you so much. I. Following from now on.
Greatly appreciate it. Glad I can help. Thanks for subscribing and share the channel to help it grow. Thanks again!
Thanks so much man i can finally put a full sized gpu in my pc, i have an optiplex 3010 dt and the adapters were a huge help im using the case that you got for your first optiplex 3010 transplant, had it for bout a week and so far its great. You got a new sub
Awesome great to hear and glad I can help. Thanks for the sub!
I have the SFF 3010. I hear these adapters don’t work for the SFF tho and I’m scared to install this adapter I now have lol. Plz help it looks the same
Thanks Bud, I plan on doing my 7010 SFF in 3 years after the extended warranty expires. I will be back to watch your videos again for reference. Hope all is well and your staying safe. Peace Out!
You might want to read the description to the adapters, they're meant for the DT and MT models. not for SFF and USFF ones. But if you want to try it in 3 years, I ain't gonna stop you.
@@MarioKaiba thanks, we'll just leave it alone. It's already outdated as it is. I passed the machine on to my wife but maintain it for integrity since she is illiterate when it comes to computers. She was still running mu old OptiPlex GX240 with 1GB of Maximum RAM and Windows XP. She just got a Chromebook so I just may put FSX back on it and use it for that along with the new OptiPlex 1070 MT that I just had made.
@@vincentfuria7301 in truth, you could have transferred the motherboard to a MT case of the same model. But having a new rig built was a better idea.
That case is pretty slick! First time I've ever seen the entire motherboard panel detach for easy access like that. I dig it! Looks old. My CyberPowerPC X Sniper case has those little chrome rivets around the side panel window.
I hate they don't make cases like they use to anymore!!
You should lay the game to show us how it runs even if you are not good it's good to demonstrate.
yea your right. I just got some equipment and gonna try to set it up and figure it out. thanks for the input.
I just bought an Optiplex 790 MT to convert into a gaming PC after my old rig died... I wish I knew about these adapters sooner. I could have my old case back... but I already decided to just buy a HP Pro 3405 motherboard and throw that in there as those motherboards are cheap and my old rig ran an AMD processor anyway. Hey, it's good to have a spare PC and I wanted at least one Linux PC around that's not over 10 years old. But yeah, these things are cool. If I ever get tired of the MT case, I'll get me some.
nothing wrong with a spare pc. I wish I knew about them sooner. Def would of save me some headache time and money, but glad I found them. Thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe to help the channel grown.
@@DLMtechgarage I meant to reply earlier, but I've been busy. Turns out the issue with my old PC wasn't the mobo, it was the ram stick. I tested it with some of the Optiplex's ram... after an import ram stick fried that one's motherboard. I already replaced it as mobos for a 790 MT and DT can be found for reasonable prices. But you're right, nothing wrong with a spare. And yeah, subbed. I hope your channel grows.
@@MarioKaiba Thanks greatly appreciate it.
I like the OEM Case from my Optiplex 7010
honestly i do too. especially modding them and giving them a little more air flow bling and a custom paint job.
Thanks so much dude, my Rx 570 sapphire pulse itx is getting really loud in the Dell case, cause its like 0 airflow in there.
yea those stock dell cases are limited in air flow, but what I have been doing is upgrading the rear fan to a noctua which help alot, also I cut out the drive cage and put a nice 120mm noctua fan since the front of the case has good ventilation. Those two trick alone have dropped the temp significantly and are cheaper then going with a new case. The drive cage is hold on by rivets but drill out very easily. I have a video on a Optiplex I did called return of the optiplex in which I show the build without the case. The system ran nice and cool by doing that. Thanks for watching and hope you can check out that video!
@@DLMtechgarage Ok nice thanks!
Hi, I'm in the middle of doing an Optiplex swap with a 790 motherboard, got the adapter kit for it, pretty much got the exact same adapter as shown in the top right of your build, Hooked up the power switch pin and power led pins where they need to go and on build it does nothing, the only way I get my build to boot it turning the psu power switch on and off, any advice would be appreciated
Make sure they are in the exact position shown as in the instructions or video by harbin freight. That typically is the culprit. If I remember correctly certain models had different positioning. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe.
hey i had that problem but for me the motherboard diagnostic adapter was upside down, not sure if this is your case but check out the position.
Hey how did you secure the cpu fan? The optiplex has standoff mounts in the case. Did you put new ones in the replacement case?
the back plate is attatched to the board and screws to the cooler.
Awesome, fucking awesome, I heard about the adaptors and you just prove to me that they do work. Thank you! Can I get an Amen, Yes Amen! Do you have a video of small electric power blowers to clean pcs?
Thanks and I most def do. Will put a link below. Great tool and def a most have, saves time and money! Thanks for watching!

Where did you get the $40 Optiplex from? I was hoping to do something like this for my son
the Facebook market place and its hit or miss. most times you can haggle people and they go for it. Sometimes you can catch people selling it dirt cheap and make a quick offer before someone else does. You can try ebay but your probably looking at $70-80. Another system to look into is the lenovo m9 series, m8 series, or m7 series. They are easy to case swap and mode then this.
@@DLMtechgarage Thank you so much, Ill be sure to let you know how it goes
Where did you find those motherboard addons for the vase intrusion switch and power button etc? Can I get a link?
below is their main site, but they have a ebay store I get them from.

Hi, adapter is no longer listed on harbin repairs eBay page. What is the name of these adapters? Will it work on a Dell Optiplex 9020 MT? Many thanks!
Check out the link to his page and contact them. I checked ebay and saw it so im not sure.

@@DLMtechgarage many thanks! I think, I can't see if as it can't ship to my country. But I will check the website definitely!
Will this work with a dell optiplex 790 mid-tower and im planning in upgrading with a 500w psu and 240gb ssd
yea you can. same principle.
Upgrade to a bigger motherboard like the one in the Mini Tower. Or don't 🤷🏻♀️
Hey bro, I have here Dell Optiplex 9020. What GPU that fit on it? Because the built in case is small. And I want to have a GPU. Any recommendations?
depends, if you have the sff, then the 1650 low profile is the best way to go, if you have the m/t version which is a matx version then you can with a any card up to a 2060 go with the smaller variant, now keep in mind you go that route with the m/t version you would have to upgrade the power supply.
Great video, however the seller of the adapter will not ship outside of the U.S. sadly.
dang that sucks, guess you have to do it the old hack way
Can you do this with the dell optiplex 3020 sff?
you can but I believe the adaptors may not work with it so you would have to check out the site for more. Ive done it with splicing and modding which I have a video on so def subscribe and check it out!
were did you get the case from
an old one i found on newegg. you can use any case.
Hey can i swap a optiplex 790 into a atx case? Or no also if not is there anyplace i can get a more poerful psu
yea the 790 is an an easy swap very similar to this one. As far as the power supply you can buy anyone you want as it does not use a proprietary power supply. Def check out some of the other videos I have on the dell and stay tuned for a optiplex build where I go xeon in it!
I would love to be able to use an old Dell case with a new motherboard that is not made by Dell.
it's doable, I have done it on a 9020. requires a bit of modding but not too bad. biggest trick is depinning the front i/o but its not too bad. havent done a video on it though.
Hi, I have a 3010 mt, looking to get a new case, will a run into any problems do u think?
not really, if def straight forward with this kit and is the same as a normal case swap and upgrade. As long as you have this kit you should be able to rock it out. Thanks for watching! hope you can subscribe to help the channel!
Do you think this will work for a Dell OptiPlex 3020?
it does. This board and cpu came from a 3020. I actually have an older video on the channel of the swap so def check it out. Thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe to help the channel!
well iam not judging, i am waiting for a new case for transplant my MB to my orderd new case.
I am looking at building a budget pc and it looks like it will be alot easier with those connectors. But what did you do for the power going to the motherboard? I looked it up and people bought a $15 adapter for that, but that money could be spent on like a bigger ssd. So what did you do in this build for that motherboard connector?
I used the adaptor for this one. I have a video on that. I have also done the wire splicing where I took the original front power switch, and tapped into it with the case one, then just plug in the front usb stuff and hide it in the case. That's the cheapest route. I have a video on how to do the wire splicing on the channel and make your own wire and not even tuck away the original cables. That video might be what your looking for.
Could a dell Optilex 990 transfer into a Aerocool Ceylon RGB MidTower with Acrylic Side window Blace pc Case could that fit??
yup most def, you would just need different adapters, link below. you can do the swap to any matx or atx you like.

Does this work with the dell optiplex 990 sff?
You can def swap the case but I have not seen any adaptors to make the swap easier. You'd prbly have to do some splicing for the power button and tuck away the front I/O. The key to the swap is to keep the front I/o usb's and power button from the old case and splice and adapt to the new case. Thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe to help the channel.
DLM tech garage do you have a video on the splicing of a sff PC
@@ogxsuave3033 the original video I did of this almost a year ago was a SFF and it was the same board and model. This was before I figured out the easier way to do it. Def check on the channel for the video and subscribe. Will leave a link for that video. Hope it helps and thanks for watching!

Hey, do we need an adapter for the Dell Optiplex 3010 fan headers?
only if its the proprietary 5 pin. these use the typical fan headers.

@@zolzolzolzolzol Awesome glad I can help! stay tuned and let me know if you ever need any help!
What case should I buy? The ATX? Should I replace the PSU too? Thanks for replying. I will sub too!
you can buy any case you want. does not matter, I couldn't hurt to replace the psu if you have too. By replacing it you can put a better graphics card in.
I see that the adapters won't work with a 7010 SFF, however would definitely be interested in purchasing some if the get made!
I am wondering if a 7010 SFF could fit in a ATX case, or if the mother board is proprietary. Any idea?
The board does fit in any case, I have done the swap, minus the adaptor and it fit find, the key holes lined up fine allowing me to secure the board and in some areas i used rubber stand off to give support when plugin in the power cables. Thanks for watching and hope you can subscribe to help the channel!

Hello, I have 3010 MT, can I change my case without adding anything to any ATX case?
you can but for the front i/o you are either gonna need some adaptors or do some wire splicing. will put a link to two videos that talk about it that I made that might help. the power buttons and i/o is the only thing to worry about, you can reuse your old power supply and everything.

Do you think this would work on a 9010?
yup, you can get the adaptor which i have a specific video on that along with doing the wire splice trick. it's really easy and is exactly the same. Def go for it if you have it, or mod the optiplex case. I have been doing that, cut out the drive cage, add some fans, cut a window in the front panel and some spray paint. Hey thanks for watching, I did some looking at the Mobo of those 980's and it appears they are not your traditional layout so I doubt you would be able to use a traditional case.
