    During the pandemic I was camping at Georgetown lake Montana..a fellow drove in with a bike on his camper rig, didn't think much about it until he took it down. He road it around and it did not make a sound when he got back I spoke to him.. it was a Zero bike that looked alot like the one you are leaning against at the end of your video. During my stay there he would leave in the morning and ride back in the afternoon.. he planned out 100 mile loops and was back in time to charge it up with a generator like everyone uses with their campers.. he loved it! saw it live. Great video and Thanks for the memory

    For those who don’t ride to a trail I can see this being the ideal machine. Stick a couple of batteries in the car, do the next trail. They are quiet so don’t attract attention, very little maintenance, light weight so can be put on a decent bike rack.

    Now, something new, the XB looks good. thanks Saffy. Great questions.

    Hi Saffy, I think for a lot of people range anxiety puts them off ownership, but in saying that they are perfect for commuting , and maybe trials / motocross. Touring on the other hand with such small distance ranges would make it very difficult to live with. But you never know what the future may bring. Thank you.

    First, I'm most interested in the concept neutrino as the owner of an FX. A clean little bike I can easily put in a car or carry with me would be a boon. Second, 🥈 having a portable power supply capable of delivering a few kw or functioning as home storage/backup power would be a killer application. A little bike will be much friendlier for exploring unknown reaches.

      Swappable/replacement batteries sounds like a no-brainer to me.

    I would get a zero xe with a spare battery. 85 km/h is not bad when you're riding logging roads and gravel and dirt trails. I feel unsafe going faster than that, even when I had gas bikes that could go faster. And the fact that it would be quiet would be so nice, as it opens up trails that aren't really open to dirt bikes. No one will care too much if you are riding past their house to get to a trail, especially when they can't hear it. That's what pisses most people off.

    Attractive razors. If the smaller one can be riden as a bicycle, I can think about buying one for daily commute and occasional off-road fun.

    Finally, an OEM that states its goal to make additional batteries affordable accessories. Having to drop another 50% of the value of the bike for an additional battery has sucked!

    If they had a 100km range and came with a spare battery then it'd be something to consider as a commuter vehicle, but it's no replacement for petrol bike. maybe have another look when they start getting above the 1,000km range mark.

    • @mmistermusic
      @mmistermusic Месяц назад

      1000km in one go with an enduro off-road bike? That is more than 24h offroad riding without stopping. I am sure most people will have a break much sooner.

    i think Zero have quite the way to go before i would consider their new offerings, the right to repair is to me a fundamental aspect of being a biker.... if im not able to replace parts then its one big no from me.... other wise they are interesting new offerings...

    • @AdventureAryck
      @AdventureAryck Месяц назад +1

      I’ve seen Max Gerston do a hard enduro on the Stark a couple of times, the only addition he was looking for was a clutch which I think is in the works or out now. 2 Ktm shops I was in, the owners got them for their wives or kids to group ride. Different strokes for different folks. You need to have a few tools in your tool box.

    • @Apollo949
      @Apollo949 Месяц назад +1

      @@AdventureAryck I think you should even get yourself a tool box to put some tools in. Try going from Land's End to Scotland on an EV motorcycle. You'll get there by Christmas 2025 after stopping for hours on end to charge your ride.

    • @Jisei13
      @Jisei13 Месяц назад

      Looks like you can charge them in 3 hours from a home plug on their site. I doubt range anxiety would be an issue for people using these they aren't for cross country commutes with the speeds they are capable of it's aimed short journeys only

    They expect the “engine” to last the life of the bike... 10 years 😂 My car is 9 years old. If I needed to replace the engine within 10 years of owning it, I’d buy something else. And... my car has much longer than one year left in it. Automotive industry is going to be a sad place when we’re forced to ride around on AAA batteries. It’s a no from me.

    • @80slover85

  • @Rich-l7b
    @Rich-l7b Месяц назад +3

    Saffy, stay away from EV motorcycles. Unless you want to be stuck on some trail out in nowhere. Real motorcyclists want nothing to do with them. They are a dying breed already. Love your videos. They make me happy, except when you get very upset. Also your poetic monologues are beautiful and brilliant.

    • @SaffySprocket
