I don't understand why honda doesn't make an electric grom themselves because to me that bike makes the most sense to provide an electric option at this point in time. Generally people who buy groms are new to motorcycles and don't care so much about how it sounds and providing an exciting driving experience like traditional motorcyclists. They're after an approachable fun nimble bike to get around town which electric bikes are perfect for. Many of these surron style bikes have equal or more power than the stock grom and come at a similar price. The only performance downgrade is range but not many people are doing long highway trips on groms anyway and honda even recommends not using it on a highway. Clearly theres a demand as Zero is basically making an egrom and there are aftermarket electric conversion kits for gas groms
I think the Chief engineer said the CEO of ZERO has commitee them to putting put 6 new models by 2030 or something. While keeping the price down. For example he said. The XB AND XE aren't aimed at people who already ride big bikes but aimed at people from maybe light electric bikes and light electric motorcycle. The XE in my opinion i do love it. But the seat looks uncomfortable for me, for longer riding. And im the 1% of peoplewho push these bikes to it's max.. It has the same seat design as the nui XQi3.
@@zane___k7333 The 2025 version is completely reengineered with increased range and regen braking system. Not fully tested (production model) yet, just like the bikes he's commenting on.
@switchfoothi read over it again. The KTM Free ride has about 37nm of torque. My emoto has more than that. Almost every emoto has more than that. The XE is like 634 peak torque. 66 miles of range at 31 mph. So the XE is the much better machine. Plus here in europe it's street legal. I like the XE But i think the seat will be uncomfortable for long ranges. Just from the design and seating position.
@@zane___k7333 Originally addressing his comment why traditional motorcycle companies not entering the emoto market. Zero is not a "legacy motorcycle company". As far as your opinion on a bike that hasn't been pre-production tested, it's interesting your mentioning torque specs considering the prior version of the KTM with only 42 Nm of torque @ 18kw out performed the Sur ron Storm Bee which has 520 lbs of torque @ 22.5kw except for top speed. Funny how torque in different units of measure translate to actual output. Range was an issue for the KTM, but we know that is somewhat subjective. The KTM was meant to ridden specifically for backcountry trails, and enduro, not mobbing the streets popping wheelies, if I wanted a bike in this size class for the track I would choose the Varg. I'm still very interested in all the new emotos coming out at the end of year including the xe & eb models and how they actually compare. This market is becoming very competitive which only benefits us the consumers. That's cool emotos are still street legal in the EU hope it stays that way. We're not so fortunate here, that's why I have a triumph 900 for the street and an mx4 for the trails, which I'm planning on upgrading with one of the new models due out. Cheers
@switchfoothi what i said was read again. Everything i told you i took directly from KTM . That wasn't my opinion this was what KTM themselves said. In fact, they didn't even give a range estimate. The torque output i said above was taken directly from KTM.
I love my FX, now I want the XB too. Easily light enough to put on my bike rack. be super fun to take on ATV trails.
I want the Zero electric Grom.
Just a concept at this point.. they just made the Zero equivalent LBX and Ultra Bee

Love The videos!
They are direct competition to the surron light bee and ultra bee
Hello, thank you for the informative video. Keep it up.
I liked the idea of the Grom-like Venom E-vader, but it seems a bit weak.

Surprised you left out the KTM freeride. Do you plan on actually testing any of these aforementioned bikes?
Ktm free ride has very poor range. Very poor. It's literally just for having fun on the tracks.

They need to lower the price on all these bikes by a good 25%
good content
