StaticX did it right.
They didn't replace Wayne, they turned him into an immortal character.
He sounds just like Wayne truly amazing.
Well fuckin said
I agree. I just hate it that an artist has to die before anyone really appreciates what they create.
@@hughcaires7434 this was a platinum selling band from the get go in 1999, hmmm....
Ya gahd dayyyyyyyyyyyyyum rights they did 🤟😆🤘
Love that you guys are trying so hard to preserve Wayne’s memory and his legacy in music. Instead of reinventing the band and embracing a new sound, you made something familiar. I think fans wanted something familiar all along, because Wayne’s sound and style were incredibly unique. This feels like it’s paying homage to him in a way, and I love it.
Totally agree with you my friend
Spot on sir. When I first listen to T.O I could’ve swore I was listening to Wayne for a split second..shit was amazing to hear. Old skool static vibes with a new sound
@@Trump.2024. I was so surprised when I found out it's not wayne singing the chorus
Wayne would be very happy to know that they’re honoring his legacy like this. The way it should be!!!
@@revivedfears That's because the main guy is dead.... He's not available!
I’m so glad Xero took the reins. This is how you honor a fallen brother by keep the music alive and making Wayne proud
Isn't calling Edsel "Xero" getting kinda cringe at this point? I get if it's at a concert or whatever but when just referring to him here out of respect, it seems like we could use his name.
@@dogg92 Man even have him look like W digital is fucked up..There is only one Wayne..And he is gone. I don't care much for this new "lead singer" stuff.. However that is prob simply bc I liked the original so much and just I don't know man...
@@billdancejrjr1070 It's ok but nowhere near as good as old Static X. It's just good shit to bop your head to or workout with. I don't really consider them to be the same band without Wayne. I'm not sure how anyone could tbh. It was the same way with AiC when Layne Staley died. Still a good band, but not the same band and nowhere near the same level. I like how they are honoring Wayne though instead of trying to replace him. I don't think the digital image of him was meant to be anything other than respectful, kind of like him singing from the afterlife.
Like most, I was extremely hesitant about the idea of anyone attempting to fill Wayne's shoes. But holy shit. This is beautiful. This isn't replacing him. This is his legacy carried forward honorably. Rest in peace, Wayne, and know we love and miss you and that your vision survives.
Love this band and project Regeneration felt like a love letter to us fans and this song is probably the freshness of the Static-X sound
They're using a dead man's work to profit. It's scummy at best.
@@Mad_Maniac one of the first ones they did was a record that Wayne even said he didn't like before. My gf is a super fan and she's been digging up rather questionable things.
@@KIDhazama Deceased musicians get their music released pretty often. It is not uncommon. It is up to the rest of the band to move on and live up to the expectations of the fans and I believe they have done that with this release.
@@Mad_Maniac friend?!?! LMAOOO do you understand the relationship of Wayne and the rest of the band when he died?
“Yeah. Ya know, we’re starting slow, and I don’t have the Static-X name anymore. I made a deal with Tonys the only legal Static-X member besides me.
I paid him a bunch of money last year to use the name, and he’s just a greedy motherfucker, man. He just hates me to death. He’s trying to gouge the shit out of me. I made him an offer to give him 25 percent of my net profits and he refused it.
He wants this outrageous number. [Laughs] He wants more money than I make in a year, and he’s just doing it on purpose because he hates me for whatever reason.
But he doesn’t want to play in Static-X, though. I gave him the opportunity, like, “Do you want to tour with us?” He’s like, “No.” Okay, well, “Will you let me use the name?” “No.” [Laughs]
He’s basically just telling me, like, “Fuck you.” Ya know? [Laughs] I’m like well, at least my name is Wayne Static and people know who I am. I’m not just some jack-off bass player that used to play in a band called Static-X. I’m like, “Fuck you,” ya know?
I’m still playing in a band called Wayne Static. It’s a little bit smaller because not everyone knows the name Wayne Static, and everyone knows the name Static-X, but we’re gonna build it up.
I basically made the choice that Static-X is done, unless Tony changes his mind at some point, which I doubt he will. We’re just going to build on Static-X. It’s beautiful and genius to put a guy who kinda sounds like Wayne in a cool mask. It lets the band live on with different singers but still be static x. Sorta like “Frankenstein” from death race.

It's great that I can listen to the new stuff and go "yep. That's Static-X"
I literally cannot discern between Wayne and Xer0. Seriously.
When they produced this, all I could hear was Wisconsin Death Trip vibes and thought all of these songs were B-Sides that Wayne already pre-recorded but hadn’t produced.
Makes me tear up.. Wayne would absolutely be proud. Couldn’t have picked a better person to fill-in.
On Monday it had been 7 years since Wayne was resting in peace, and today is his birthday, congratulations Wayne, thank you so much for your music, you are in a better place, greetings from a big fan of Brazil 🙏🙏🇧🇷
that's right didn't he die a day before his birthday......all those pills n drink don't mix so sorry wayne we all miss u
Ahh yes good point! That will be why my boyfriend is sad. He shares the same Birth date as Wayne 🌠 We're both huge fans too!!! My heart hurts, for all of the amazing artists lost in the past couple of decades. But especially Wayne Static 😢
Damn it’s been 7 years already?
I'm from Brazil too!!! Nice to see some static asses around here! hehehe XDD I can't even believe it's been 7 years, time goes so fast!
He is actually alive and it's been a ruse so he can join Fear Factory.
I love the expressions on everyone’s faces, it’s like a fun horror movie. Koichi went out the best with a selfie and a smile, lol

This is evil disco!!!
Where adrenaline?😄🗿
This track immediately became my favorite upon first listen of the album. Looking forward to vol 2.
Edsel man, you're fucking amazing for doing all this for Static-X. Fucking love you man..
Edsel was my idol growing up....
@@joshdekalb4564 mine to, I'm kinda bummed we probably won't get any new dope songs but it's cool seeing what he can do when he's not having to carry the whole band.
Love Edsel and static X but fuck really wish he didn’t just completely forget about dope been waiting for blood money vol 2 for coming up on 6 years next year
I just realized that Edsel is going to put it into overdrive and overtime touring with...Static-X, Fear Factory, Dope, and Twizitid so that means Edsel is going to not only do his set for Dope but then another round for Static-X. Much props and mad respect but I wonder how much that can take out of a person singing that long a night for 2 sets for the whole tour. Hope he eats his Corn Flakes and Wheaties everyday. Wish all of them the best and hope they stay healthy.
I agree!
As others have commented, Edsel isn't trying to replace Wayne, but rather continue the legacy of Static X. Saw them live recently and it was epic AF. He's doing a hell of a job at that! Thank you guys for continuing to make awesome music!
I can hear and feel Wayne's presence . You couldn't of done any better honoring and keeping Wayne Static's legacy alive. From a long time fan from 99 I thank you and appreciate it more than you will ever know.
And get this, all the vocals? All Xer0, even the screaming in the chorus. It proves what an accomplished musician the guy truly is, and it allows the legacy of Evil Disco to continue on. The torch has been passed and its in very capable hands.
Oh man, they've really found their second wind with Xer0! Perfect fit! Wayne would be proud!
@@DesertRainReads Pretty sure the line "terminator oscillator" is wayne. Also pretty sure that "i am the senseless the vicious the wicked" is Tony Campos.
it helps that its actually Wayne on this album and not Edsel. Its all old recordings that never got finished when they were together and before his death
@@rottenpancakes nope, the chorus is all Xer0, I believe Wayne did have a hand in writing the lyrics though. You are correct that Tony is saying "I am the senseless, the vicious, the wicked" though, as evidenced by the concert footage I saw of these guys performing this song live. They sound incredible BTW.
Love that Tony has so many screams and growls on this song! He's always been underrated imo. He's the OG 🤘
RUN! RUN! RUN!
I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first, but this has been handled with class and feels like honoring Wayne's spirit. If nothing of his was there, this would feel weird. You can tell how much they loved him so it doesn't come of as a rip off, it seems more like a tribute to the heart of the band's soul. Very well done, it sounds like Static X!
It is static-X. Edsel is not on this track
. I heard there is a bunch of recorded but unreleased songs that were done before Wayne passed.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
For me this album was something more. It was...something that we needed. Nobody liked how Static-X ended. They didn't get to go out on a Great album or a Farewell tour. The band just ended...cuz Wayne died. Things were left unsettled and I think even we as fans knew. So fast forward to this albums release and the reunion tour. People are loving it because...We got to say Goodbye, and Wayne got to go out on something Good.
exactly, this was made with extreme respect and professionalism
Brian Charles Ebejer (born March 21, 1974), known professionally as Edsel Dope, is an American rock singer, songwriter and musician. He is best known as the lead singer and main songwriter for nu metal/industrial metal band Dope. Dope was founded in 1997 by Edsel and his brother, Simon Dope (keyboards), in New York City. Edsel co-produced all of Dope's albums. On Felons and Revolutionaries, Dope's first album (released in 1999), Edsel played and programmed most of the musical instruments. In 2019 he became the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for Static-X under the moniker Xer0. He performs wearing a mask resembling former vocalist Wayne Static.
What’s even better is that videos, music, etc credit vocals et al to Xer0, and they “produced by Edsel Dope”. Fucking epic how they played this.
This whole album so far sounds like if the Machine & Shadow Zone albums fused into one... it's sooo good... it hurts us all that this is the end of an era.
Well hopefully there's a part 2
@@Tysandifer there is one, the band confirmed its coming soon.

Tony drinking a 40 while a kaiju rampages around the city is an absolute MOOD and I'm here for it!
Bumped into Wayne at a show in the 90's in San Francisco. Playing with Stabbing Westward, Fear Factory, and Skinlab. I was thinking "who's this dude with the crazy tall hair?". Then I saw him on stage lol
I keep hearing this story from a lot of people. I guess Static-X was something completely new in 1999 haha
I saw them in 2002.and was one of the most brutal concerts I have ever been. It really was something, well still is, thanks to this project.
RIP Wayne, you're one of the greats, at least for me.
Life long Static-X fan here and I’ve had the honor of meeting Wayne several times at the House of Blues in Orlando and I was devastated when he passed because Static fueled my teenage angst years and is a part of me! Dope opened for Static-X back in 1999. Great show!
Having been a Static X fan longer than Dope I have so much respect for Edsel keeping on the legacy of the band for Wayne as well as his own. Without replacing him outright.
It's all so poetic - "Gentlemen, we can rebuild him." Now I can find lyrics in old songs that connect so well to the whole story of Wayne's death and rebirth as a machine. It's like it was his plan all along.
