@@ChrisJohnson1988 Absolutely. Head is the mastermind in the studio and just has a knack for writing some of the best riffs. @@ItsNotaTuhmah I know what he was talking about. I was saying, if he is too dumb to understand the music then why bother commenting. It's not gibberish.
I mean, if you really wanna get into it they'd have a different genre for each album, but yeah, Nu Metal is definitely a broad enough term to cover their general sound.
When i first heard this song it was august of 16. I was kinda depressed because my oldest daughter was starting to show the signs of autism. One thing she couldnt do at that time was show emotion. This song helped me push through that state of mind some how. Today she, my daughter, has so much emotion that at times she cant control them. Thank you KORN!
I am autistic (Aspergers). I don't wanna know how my mother felt about raising a sociopathic kid that got bullied constantly and wasn't able to build friendships. I think autism isn't that bad if you learn how to deal with it. Many scientists are actually autistic. I wish you all the best luck for you and your daughter. PS.: I am German, please keep in mind that there could be spelling or grammar mistakes.
I shouldn't even be alive. The doctors said I would die shortly after birth and even if I did live I would be extremely handicapped. Well, I'm 14 with Autism and I can walk, talk, and live just like other people
hahaha, those scats i've pined for since day one. Davies could make a whole song with that. My wife and Father don't get it when I put Korn way at the top of my favorite music. Hey more for me.
Liked the song when I first heard it.Watched the video and fell in love with it.This is my jam right now and the timing in my life is nothing short or perfect.
Well I think from SYOTOS on was them kind of distancing themselves from that sound, it's interesting to see such a strong return to it. I almost wonder if them doing their entire first album live again didn't have a big impact on how this one turned out. I think this may be the biggest shift in sound Korn has ever had between two albums, TPS is so technical and clean sounding, while this is basically the complete opposite as far as Korn goes. I'm very interested in finding out where this album goes, I hope they have a good variety this time around and it's not all songs that sound like they were made for radio - like their previous three albums were. I feel like SYOTOS and Untitled having mixed reactions really scared them into playing it safe artistically and this song is a big departure from that, I just hope the rest of the album is too.
SYOTOS was OK. A little too drastic a depature. But admirable experimenting. Untitled sucked. Their worst album by far besides that dub step shit, i aint even counting that one. Korn III was decent but they missed Heads song writing and guitar still. Paradigm Shift was too clean, too safe in moments, and too electronic at times still. But like half the record was good. Korn: 10/10 classic Life is Peachy: 8.5/10 Really good Follow the Leader: 9.5/10 classic Issues: 9/10 great Untouchables: 9/10 great TALITM: 7.5/10 Solid/decent SYOTOS: 6/10 okay Untitled: 4/10 not good Korn III: 7/10 decent Paradigm Shift: 6.5/10 okay I hope they can eclipse Korn III and TALITM on this one. This song sounds like 2001. Closer to Untouchables but not quite there, some left over creepy sounds in the verses that are reminiscent of Issues. But the guitars and chorus sound close to Untouchables.
Uwielbiam tę piosenkę! To jak gitary ryją mózg, duszę i umysł. Słuchałam tego w kółko niezliczoną ilość razy i nadal nie mam dość! Nie wspominając o fenomenalnej grze aktorskiej.
I'm going to second Michael Boyd, it's a tough groove to sound new in, I'll be looking to see if they can pull it off. It does sound like they've laid off the keyboards a bit for this one so that's a huge plus.

Love this song! Thank you Korn, your music has and still helps me try and deal with my anxiety. My anxiety can be extremely debilitating at times, but your music helps me, so thank you so much to you all 🖤🖤 I've recently been suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, and I find listening to Korn really helps to distract me and stop the attacks. I've never had anxiety or panic attacks until around July last year and they are so horrible and scary, I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. I'm 44 and my divorce is nearly finalised and he turned out to be an asshole, hence why I'm divorcing him! I feel like I'm all alone and once my parents are gone, what's left for me. Thing's are really bad some days, but I do have good days too. Music has saved me, which probably sounds really stupid but it has helped a lot. Sorry for my really long comment.

I saw the Freak on a Leash video when I was 7 years old. It was the first song I ever loved. Thanks to KoRn for being badass non-stop (minus Skrillex era)
It is indeed, the song called Tension that's all I need to say... Bands have to change and evolve together Korn simply can't make 20 years of albums like follow the leader or their first album. If people don't like TPOT it doesn't really bother me, it's their loss but the thing that gets me is when people talk about that album and say oh, Korn just did that dubstep shit to stay relevant... LMFAO, Yeah I'm sure Korn just sit's around and thinks of ways to be popular again.......
Am I trippin or is "good" music coming back? I've been a korn fan since I was old enough to put a tape in the boom box, remember those...; and to be honest I wrote them off, after like the untouchables. But this sounds like the korn I fell in love with again. Hyfr
+Jacob P Korn js actually really well composed, NuMetal may not be everyones cup of tea but saying it is not good music because it isn't Bach is just not fair or honest.
+Jacob P then go comment on some shitty pop music bro. This shit is metal head culture. I came up on bands like Korn. The fact that you even try to hate on the our kind of music only speaks miles about how pathetic you are to even be on this commenting when you don't even like it. Face it Jacob. You're a loser and you know it.
This song should have a billion views …. That john davis vocal skat or whatever you call is sooooooo hype.. its mixed and blended perfect … when im training i gooo hard when this is on!!!
Love 'Rotting In Vain'! It's been a long time since a listened to this, it will never get old. 'The Serenety of Suffering' album was dope! and heavier than the others. Very great stuff from KoRn and always thankful to be a listener from this band.
CrispyCakes Korn was not the same for many years. That's why I said that they are back. They have a little bit of the old sound and they kinda went back to their roots. I have been following korn since 1996 and yes they were lost for a time trying to experiment with new sounds that I personally never liked.
KoRn is literally resurrecting NU METAL with this song. Didn't hear such a good one from a NU METAL band in years. So glad Head is back.. KoRn wen't to shit when he left. Good to see so many NU METAL fans around. I was starting to feel old and lonely.
You might want to tell that to 40 Below Summer, Soil, Adema, Project 86, Linkin Park, hed P.E., Alien Ant Farm, Trapt, KoRn, Slipknot, Deftones Etc etc all of which have new albums do out or are already dropped already this year, it's not dead, was just taking a little break, OH and nonpoint, Dry Kill Logic, Cold, man I could keep going.
Judging from the state of your grammar and thus your evident hypocrisy, you are either twelve years old or just an idiot. If you are twelve, kid, just know not everything works out the way you imagine it would be. If you are an idiot, well then, you are just an idiot.
Ray was the best thing the band could have done in the 2000s! KoRn had really left his mark on performance, but now the band explodes again to the top of my personal charts! You are absolutely great! Go on! Ray Luzier is my absolute model at the drumms! You are great!!!! The Worlds Best !!!
To get technical, all sounds that are called music by the producer of the sound is “real” music because music is art and art is any creation deemed art by the creator . . . That being said, this is the good real music
When Korn make these heavy but ultra melodic and laid back songs the results are freaking amazing. Almost all the Korn elements are in one song. truly amazing.
+Seth Powell They just experimented with different stuff they had wanted to try but the fact that you can still their signature sound throughout all of their work is the key because yellow you they haven't forgotten who they are and why they started making music in the first place! Korn is basically the godfathers of nu metal, I mean if they made a big four representing nu metal genre they would be in it for sure!?
Franco FDM Funny you should say that it won best album of the year in Revolver magazine. Korn will always experiment I don't know why people expect the self titled album over again they've done it and are different people. when they tried to recreate it it was forced and well shit.
Fuck man Jonathan Davis is like a bottle of whiskey the older it gets it gets better his screams are so nasty nowadays when they did live a cbgbs that was the nastiest vocals
@@eyehatejaxx i mean you cant really compare chi's scream with this one, because in chi jon was literally screaming, here he's just growling/false cording. Its like comparing iowa corey taylor with wanyk taylor.
@@joshuaromero8993 I'm not trying to compare at all. I'm just saying they aren't necessarily screams and more guttural vocals on this album. I have nothing but respect for Jon and I live him, I just went to my second korn concert this weekend and I'm 14

I mean, if you really wanna get into it they'd have a different genre for each album, but yeah, Nu Metal is definitely a broad enough term to cover their general sound.
One of the main characteristics of nu-metal is to deny being nu-metal.
This sounds similar to old late 90s early 2000 Korn... I love it so much. What a song.
Best song since 20 years!!
riff like a falling away from me but harder

Absolute masterpiece. Korn DNA 100%.
Masterpiece. That's what I love this band for. I need an hour version. My favourite song.
Yeah my parents had no idea I was even on the spectrum. They still don’t. I got myself diagnosed and they still won’t believe it. But what can you do.
I shouldn't even be alive. The doctors said I would die shortly after birth and even if I did live I would be extremely handicapped. Well, I'm 14 with Autism and I can walk, talk, and live just like other people
Autism....... An excuse to recieve a check from the goverment.

BallBreaker Reviews oh yeah I forgot about him my bad
hahaha, those scats i've pined for since day one. Davies could make a whole song with that. My wife and Father don't get it when I put Korn way at the top of my favorite music. Hey more for me.
Deann Nagel go listen to twist. it is a whole song.
Любимая песня Korn, Джонатан здесь очень вайбовый! Надеюсь, ребята ещё порадуют нас новыми песнями ♥️
Liked the song when I first heard it.Watched the video and fell in love with it.This is my jam right now and the timing in my life is nothing short or perfect.
Paul G Same happend to me 17 years ago with freak on a leash since then this is my band.
This is probably the best song IMO they've put out in a long time that captures more of Korn's original sound. I like it.
Best song since Take A Look In The Mirror
SYOTOS was OK. A little too drastic a depature. But admirable experimenting. Untitled sucked. Their worst album by far besides that dub step shit, i aint even counting that one. Korn III was decent but they missed Heads song writing and guitar still. Paradigm Shift was too clean, too safe in moments, and too electronic at times still. But like half the record was good.
Korn: 10/10 classic
Life is Peachy: 8.5/10 Really good
Follow the Leader: 9.5/10 classic
Issues: 9/10 great
Untouchables: 9/10 great
TALITM: 7.5/10 Solid/decent
SYOTOS: 6/10 okay
Untitled: 4/10 not good
Korn III: 7/10 decent
Paradigm Shift: 6.5/10 okay
I hope they can eclipse Korn III and TALITM on this one. This song sounds like 2001. Closer to Untouchables but not quite there, some left over creepy sounds in the verses that are reminiscent of Issues. But the guitars and chorus sound close to Untouchables.
+Grant Inskeep damn, I agree with that list/ranking you got there, well put
+Grant Inskeep they got a new album comming out october 21 supposed to be like old korn kinda like this song
This is like if Untouchables and Issues had a baby. Fucking amazing, exactly what i want Korn to sound like in 2016.
was thinking exactly this
Is the "Mask" representing JD's "Oxygen" mask when he needs it on his Live tours??!! Just a thought. Going to go down as a Classic..
Kevin KOhler
And the Paradigm shift already sounds a hell of a lot like Untouchables. This is heavier than both of those albums.
The only song that sounds a little tiny bit like a untouchables one on the the paradigm shift is love and meth
Dude was thinking the same thing!
Uwielbiam tę piosenkę! To jak gitary ryją mózg, duszę i umysł. Słuchałam tego w kółko niezliczoną ilość razy i nadal nie mam dość! Nie wspominając o fenomenalnej grze aktorskiej.
This song sounds like it could be a lost song/album between Issues and Untouchables
Between Life is Peachy and Follow the Leader, IMO.
I mean it kind of sounds like all of their albums mashed into a single song.
I'm going to second Michael Boyd, it's a tough groove to sound new in, I'll be looking to see if they can pull it off. It does sound like they've laid off the keyboards a bit for this one so that's a huge plus.
wtf

If you just fucking cried
Your tears would arouse me
Refreshing my supply
The suffering is fading

Digging deep inside of me
Getting past this agony
I can't seem to get away
Another day rotting in vain
I wouldn't be angry if things
Would stay the same

Love this song! Thank you Korn, your music has and still helps me try and deal with my anxiety. My anxiety can be extremely debilitating at times, but your music helps me, so thank you so much to you all 🖤🖤
I've recently been suffering with anxiety and panic attacks, and I find listening to Korn really helps to distract me and stop the attacks. Sorry for my really long comment.

what is WRONG with you people?! i prefer the skrillex collab over the clunky remember who you are album.
TPOT is such an incredible album though.
LMFAO, Yeah I'm sure Korn just sit's around and thinks of ways to be popular again.......
iraqilemonade same here
Masterpiece, Jonathan’s voice at peak. My biggest inspiration as a vocalist.
+Jacob P Numetal is the shit.... system, mudvayne, hed pe...What!? Nigga please. Dont be scared of a lil groove.
And I was talking about music of every genre making a comeback not just korn
+Jacob P then go comment on some shitty pop music bro. This shit is metal head culture. I came up on bands like Korn. The fact that you even try to hate on the our kind of music only speaks miles about how pathetic you are to even be on this commenting when you don't even like it. Face it Jacob.
