Korn helped me make it through my depression after my wife died of cancer 10 years ago. I was in a dark place and the emotion that Jonathan Davis has always put into their music saved me from doing something that I would’ve regretted. There are always better days, but they helped me make it through the dark times

I cannot say I have been there but pretty close there right now. Went through six weeks of Chemo and Radiation therapy, then surgery to cut out part of my esophagus and replace with my stomach...now my wife is in ICU in another country and I cannot travel to be with her...she had a kidney fail and had been touch and go the last day or two. Things are looking up but it is hitting me now-all the emotions messing with my mind. She is in her home country in the Philippines and I am here in California. And I miss my three year old daughter who is there in the Philippines. She is definetly a daddy’s girl. I do hope things worked out in life for you...thanks for opening up and sharing a part of yourself with us.
Sad how much negativity this band gets from old fans that say their music is terrible now and are angry that they don't sound like their first album..... They're are missing how extremely good and deep JDs lyrics are and how great the music sounds and is put together. Forever will and always will love korns music

As someone who's been a fan since the first album, I agree with you. The first 2 albums are my favorites but they have not made a bad album. One of the things that I fell in love with is the uniqueness of their music and how it constantly evolves. And that's what the bands that have longevity have in common; the music evolves. If I made a list of my top favorite songs there would be something from every album. Those who want to bitch are missing out. Fuck em!
They've definitely changed and I can see why people wouldnt like anything but older songs. I myself appreciate the new songs, been listening to them more than the older stuff now.

Serenity of Suffering is one of their best albums in a very long time. I can't believe after 22 years they can still create some bad ass music.
SOS is an amazing album
This song hits very close to home for me. It reminds me of my dad. Sadly, he was an alcoholic. Not long after I graduated high school, he ended up in the hospital for his drinking, and he was diagnosed with acute liver failure. After that, he quit drinking. He was sober for a year, then unfortunately, he fell off the wagon not long after. It was actually a week before my 19th birthday. He never got clean after that. He drank almost every day for a full year, until he ended up in the hospital again on Halloween of 2016. He was in the hospital for over two weeks, and he wasn't getting any better. His liver was a lot worse than what it was the first time he went into the hospital. So, he decided to go into hospice. He went into hospice, and he died two days later. It's been a little over a year since he died.
Words can't even describe how much I miss him. I don't know what's so special about that damn bottle. But this song reminds me of what he must've felt in his head. That he needed alcohol in order to function. But I'll never get it. I love this song, because it's a great song, but at the same time, it makes me a little sad whenever I hear it. Lol. I guess you can say I have a love/hate relationship with it. Lol. :P

Its the mental and the body affect, it just consumes you. An addiction that shouldn't be considered an addiction. More so a life consumption. It controls you. The thaught of it will never leave . Father died of cancer when I was 11 I completely understand. However I cannot say i do having to watch my father poison himself to death must have been awful. That was 7 years ago and I still remember asking any god there was to take me instead.
Unfortunately I can tell you what's so special about that damn bottle, but you can't understand unless you're there. I'm sorry that he chose that over his life and family, that's a very sad way to lose someone. I hope you're doing better now.

They really never went away. You can never please everyone. It is interesting however, that with each new release "old Korn" expands in to more recent albums such as issues and Untouchables. Two brilliant albums, but people made the same tired complaints about those.... but now they are also "Good old Korn" It's nonsense.

Korn has helped me through most of my miserable life and im happy to be a Korn fan. Biggest struggle i ever had is my grandfather's passing. Been extremely tough to find some light out in the world. Korn makes that light brighter, long live Korn.

Korn have been my favourite band since the first time I heard them 11 years ago and this is the best album they've made since then! Their first 4 albums are the iconic, legendary ones but taking them out of the picture The Serenity of Suffering blows all the previous albums out of the water!
Technically it's a yes but some of their new stuff lacks creativity. Overall a very good album😉.

Undead Ninja4200 Depression is a never ending struggle. Just don't succumb to it. Embrace it and do something positive with it. I have major depressive disorder, PTSD, anxiety. I sought relief in the form of doing volunteer work at an animal shelter. I now feel I have a purpose.

This song is one of Korns greatest in my opinion, the lyrics and how Jonathan sings it with passion resonates the early years of why we fell in love with them from day 1. Many more songs that associate with this notion of their methodology.

Don't agree at all. A Different World is one of the most disappointing ones I think. Take Me has the best melody and chorus
But this song is practically all chorus, that's the problem. Should have longer verses.
And Insane is the best track on the album hands down.
Edit: Changed my mind haha, Black is the Soul might be the best. Insane is definitely better than Take Me and Rotting though.
