Hi , I know it is about levelling this video, but what to do when subbase is like Sponge's last days was supper wet some part of patio are good some like sponge , level slope done , subbase 15cm and still done this I'm little bit down because of this and don't know what to do now I'm doing all my self working before on construction but never laying patio. The house is newly built. probably you hear about wet garden problems , but our was no so bad only on other side garden. There was not enough top soil, only that rubbish hard grey soil, which was hard to dig bay hand developer put only 20cm top of that grey soil. The garden has slope and still is wet . What to do now ? Wait for warmer days. Keeps drying out, and you whackers palte again or take out around 7cm mix with cement and whackers plate again. Or leanmix top of that, but what height leanmix should be ? Trying find something about on RUclips but there is nothing. Sorry for the long comments. But now you have an operation ahead of you, maybe you can make a video about this how to avoid this problem and help others. Wish you a fast recovery. Thank you.
Sounds pretty crappy situation from buying a new house build !! As for the spongy ground unfortunately the only fix is to dig it all back out and remove the wet layer. Also you could use geo tec it’s a strong fabric to help keep the strength but mostly the crappy bit needs removing 👍🏴
@tidybrickslandscaping do you mean throwing away and putting a new subbase because it's only half patio and the other bit is on the side of the house . For me, it was strange last winter when the wet ground in that area wasn't soggy like now, but in summer, it was a big crack in soil when it was hot dry. Unfortunately, in the whole U.K., people have the same problem with the garden . I reckon it's a subbase problem. I have two different from the same supplier where I put 9 bulk bags is good but from second delivery other 5 bulk bag was looking like old cement or waste no dry concrete I was think will be good and keeps tight but instead of that one moments looks dry and after like small tiny stream start going from ground.
My tile supplier is recommending I use tile adhesive rather than sand and cement. What is your view on this, I’m laying 37 square meters of porcelain. All the best with your ankle and thank you for the videos. 🕺

@@craigwalters1261 about 2 ton of sharp sand and a dozen cement bags would be close to the amount 👍🏴
