You can run SDI cabling further than HDMI and it's provides a locking connector so it's less likely to fall out. However most consumer level cameras are HDMI, so it depends on what cameras you have and how long your cable runs are.

Hello I have your Vmix software and want to start streaming my church service with One Camera - Panasonic Full HD AVCCAM. How and what do I need to set my camera to stream through Vmix.
We only use USB for the mouse and a Midi/X-Keys with the laptop usually. We will sometimes have a USB3 input such as the Magewell dongle or the AJA Utap. Typically all of our video sources are brought in over the Thunderbolt port with an AJA iO4K.
Do you mean how to send the output from vMix to a secondary display? If so, this is called Fullscreen Output in vMix. All you need is to connect your second monitor to an available port on your graphics card (such as HDMI or Display Port etc). More in our documentation - www.vmix.com/help21/Fullscreen.html
We have a full list of Supported Devices on our website here- www.vmix.com/software/supported-hardware.aspx. What device you need will depend on your situation. There are plently of factors to consider such as -How many cameras you have -What type of connection they are -Whether it's a mobile production.
We like to call a card that you install via PCIe to your computer's motherboard, a capture card. External devices that connect via a USB3 cable or Thunderbolt, we call a capture device. ruclips.net/video/CYhkhUu7fN4/видео.html
I have a question about using a PTZ camera, is it possible to control it through Vmix? Also, cameras like PTZoptics have Ethernet output and control, is it possible to receive that thorugh vmix, or i need to setup a line of SDi next to the control cable?
You can use PTZ cameras over the network in vMix. You can also control a number of web enabled PTZ cameras over the network also, including PTZ Optics. Here's a quick demo about that- ruclips.net/video/exVeWBPgy3M/видео.htmlm9s
Wow! My Samson Graphite MD13 has been featured. It works so well. I love it. My only sadness for now is Vmix Activator feature is not working on this controller. :( Please Martin, have a support for this affordable functional controller. :)
Hi, with the external devices you're limited to the amount of USB bandwidth that you have. You could possibly look at bringing in 2x 720p devices. It really depends on your computer setup.
You can, however it quickly uses your USB bandwidth and CPU. Give it a try with your current set up and see if it works for you. If you want to trial vMix, just download our free 60-day trial and test it out- www.vmix.com/software/download.aspx
Hi. You will need to connect the output on the camera into a capture card or capture device in the vMix computer. See more in the following knowledge base article about how to connect cameras to vMix - www.vmix.com/knowledgebase/article.aspx/30/how-to-connect-cameras-to-vmix
Thanks for pointing that out. For some reason RUclips thinks that .com! is a domain extension? I've removed the exclamation mark so it should work now.
Is SDI more stabe/reliable than HDMI?

Due to USB bandwidth constraints you'd probably be only able to use 2 USB devices.

Hello there... I don't know why it doesn't work, but there a way to get VMix stream to both facebook and RUclips at the same time?
You can't use the automated FB live settings if you want to go to multiple locations, you'll need to set up the FB settings manually.
