As a beginner I really love these videos! You have a lot of them, but they're sometimes kind of repetitive..
Special request: Could you do 'ecosystem' tank ideas? As in, North American Tank Ideas, South American Tank Ideas, South Asian Tank Ideas... Something that groups plant and fish ideas by their region of origin? :)

Question: Are the shrimps with this combination 1. Dying off 2. Barely Surviving 3. Growing slowly or 4. Breeding like crazy?

In my case, they are somewhere between 3 and 4. They are growing and shedding and eating and doing what they do but as for shrimplets, not so much. But hey, I also have a betta in that tank, sooo...

I did the Celestial pearl danio tank with 6 danios, 3 vampire shrimp, 4 cherry shrimp, 3 khuli loaches and 5 emerald eye rasbora. Filled it up with a ton of different plants. Its been a few months now and the tank is doing awesome! I do 20% water changes every week and fertilize/excel the tank every day. The whole tank gets fed super evenly with some repashy powder and microworms.

My favorite fish for a 20 tall is white clouds! They are so good looking, and they display beautifully in a 20. Keep them with some egg eaters to keep their numbers low, or keep them separate and you'll have tons.

How about some odessa barbs, your favorite corydoras, some non baby sized Amano shrimp (my odessa barbs ate teenage sized cherry shrimp, but leave my Amanos alone), some otocinclus, or a bristlenose pleco. Don't forget lots of cool plants! I've got a bunch of vallisneria, dwarf sagittarius, Java fern windelov, vesuvius, a small Amazon sword (might have to move if it becomes huge), some susswassertang, crypt parva, and Java moss. I'm probably forgetting some other plants, haha.

I find these ideas and your method of bringing them to us a little too motivating truth be told. I am not one to praise some would say, but I have always maintained that a person needs to earn praise. I must say that your entire series, and all that comes with it regarding your story of development and such is just a well done series where the viewer can watch you grow in your youtube channel, as we grow in our knowledge and in turn enjoyment of this wonderful hobby. My story in short is that I have had a fish tank for over 40 years. I always asked for two of this and that. I never asked about water parameters and no one ever asked me. I never understood the dillemma of the store owner regarding the purchase of fish. I never understood PH or KH or any water parameters beyond the basics of the Nitrogen cycle. That said I started watching your series when I found a pregnant swordfish and happened across the peru trip and was hooked. Your real Cory and your videos are not selling anything or at least not very aggressively and that sells the video IMO. I have learned so very much both through you yourself and those you affiliate with etc. So I have 5 tanks now and the neon tank I set up I could not get below 7PH so now I am introducing Fluval stratum in a media bag to buffer it down after letting it sit and exhaust ammonia for a couple weeks in a cycling shrimp tank. I am entering a new world and feel supported truth be told. Keep up the good work.

teh neons btw I spoke of were week and perhaps going through osmotic shock so for the first time today I fed them live brine shrimp I cooked up last night in the bubbler. too much fun is being had..... the neons seem to be more energetic and colorful if that is possible.

Hello everyone I’m new to the hobby I’ve been watching a lot on what makes a good tank. My plan is to have a planted 20 gallon community tank by the end with 1 Berta fish a small school of neon tetra (5or6) and for a cleanup crew (3or more) Nerite snails (3-4)blue shrimp and (3-4)orange Mexican dwarf crayfish. I also wanted to set up and small aquaponic system above the tank. I’m still not sure if a tall or long tank would be better or what kind of lights, filter or water heater to get. I also wanted it to be plant heavy for the fish the be able to hide. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated thanks so much I’ve learned a lot from your videos!!

Ahhh clown killifish! I want some so bad. They're often hard to find though or sell out fast. Same with kuhli loaches.
I have a 25 gallon with 2 redtail dalmatian platies, 1 Green Lantern Platy (had a female for him but she died suddenly a couple weeks ago... I think maybe bloat? I'm not sure, but she had a huge belly that was squishy), 1 golden spotted platy (not sure of the type, but she's the largest and the queen), a red Veiltail betta, and about 5 platy fry--the rest are in their own container/tub; these guys were born a few hours after I'd moved the first 11 or so.
My betta enjoys scaring the fry. She's well-fed and doesn't try to eat them, but she does enjoy hunting. They're fast and wary of her though. I tried adding my blue female betta, but she was very stressed by all the platies, so I put her in her own 5 gallon, where she's much happier.

I have my 15 new dwarf chain loaches in my 60g with wild-type swordtails. The loaches are about 1.25" at this point. They are not quite silly yet, but they are learning from the 12 yr old clowns in the 180g next to them. My seven new Zebra loaches are 1.5" right now, they've doubled in size in a month... they cleaned out my 15g of snails - 100s of snails! Their bellies looked like Murphy post-clams. I'm yanking extra snails from my shrimp tank to feed them. Oh, and the Zebra loaches act just like clowns... only smaller.
