Dave needs to do a roadkill episode on this car.. Not really roadkill quality, but a day at the strip to show what this thing can do! Sick build once again NRE
Good lord. At idle this car makes like 16 times the horsepower that mine does at the top of its powerband (1600cc singleport Type 1 VW). I love how you guys can't stop grinning or cackling when you wrap it way up. I can totally see why you love your job!
Yahoo!Thats freaking quick, ultra powerful daily driver!Maybe think about one of those over/under drive units so it can get half way decent fuel economy for trips to and from the strip?I'd consider it if it were mine!Keep up the good work guys,I love it!
Yes, this car is still around. The "F-Bomb" was built for Chief Editor of HotRod Magazine: David Freiburger. Since 2007, he has been using it as his daily driver and one is able to see it cruising around El Segundo, CA every once in a while.
I love listening to grown men giggle at something ridiculously awesome they have put together. You know they're up to no good, and something awesome has happened.
@AmericanThunder my small block n/a camaro does just fine with its 3:23 rear gears (was advalible with 2:73 from the factory). however it has a little less then half the horsepower this thing is making on this test run.
This car is incredibly awesome. However, one point: at 4:36 he mentions how 3.08 gears with a small block would be slow until 100 mph. Some small blocks do make plenty of power without turbos while running very high gears, I can assure you.
1. Have $100k+ to blow on a fully built vehicle. 2. Have a car ready to accept a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge small large-block engine. 3. Give Tom Nelson a call by contacting Nelson Racing Engines, and tell him what you'd like.
because 2seconds and you'd be doin atleast double the speed limit.. they are cruisin the city streets. not a race track. but true, i would love to see them put it on 20+ pounds and just floor it till it wont go any faster
I don't quite get why NRE would want to take credit for the fleet of fake, crate-motor-powered F-Bombs used in that movie, but the real one is a true work of art.... And also *isn't* in the movie. As you know.
It isn't the real car. It is a fake. The reason people do that is because they're stupid people who watch those horrible films and they think it's entirely possible for a car to wheelstand on dirt
Ended up being replicated for an appearance in Fast and Furious. Still belongs to David who uses the car a lot. Competes at drag strips, appears in merchandise and magazines
Yes technically it does ruining the classic cars because to fit in a lot of that shit it has on it it has to be cut and welded and basically fabricated again at least certain parts of the car. I got a 72 I'm building right now hope I'm going to be able to pull it off by the 4th of july
I want in car video of it hooking up,not spinning the tires, eyeballs pushed out the back of your head, more teeth added to a much larger smile from excessive G's
is it posible to get these older sheet metal box style injection manafilds for pontiac engines????????????????????????? or does on such manafold even exist ?????????????????????? please help

Missed that the first time I watched the video. I watched it again and heard him say it. Thanks for the reply.

All under the stock hood. Motor is a work of art under the hood. AMAZING!
Tom said in this video that the car runs "in its weakest setup, 8 lbs of boost on pump gas" 9.90 at 140mph...

You're welcome bro!

hgghgguk Always was and still is Freiburger's car.
Guys they asked him if they chould make replicas
@Firebert79TA True, and they start light then get darker...that is the true mark of power.
The guy in the passenger seat sounds like he has Burt Reynolds laugh
When is nelson gonna build something that hooks up and go's. Let's see some wheel stands, and some quarter mile et' s. Something better than low 10's.

They used a replica of this car, but big red was the real deal in the movie
What engine?
i wanna ride it someday... in the far future :(

The fart?
how much does this cost?
Does it have a radio?? Just sayin........
850 horse at 8 psi. How much power does it make a 20 or 30 psi?
It’s top horsepower is 1500 as far as I know I don’t know if they’ve done any new mods to it or not
how do you order this?
2000...
when you buy a nelson racing engine it should come with a life time supply of tires...it would probably go through them in a month

King Kristo well that's going to be a surprise to Frieburger. The car in the film is a clone. It's fake. It is not the real F-Bomb.

Nope...but I know more about his car than *you* it seems. Tell you what....go ask him how how many replicas of his car they built for the movie.
Fast and Furios ( like this car) 4 !!!

So help me GOD, if I ever hit the lotto, I will have NRE build me a car like this!!!
Sexiest engine bay!

if your cars are so streetable, take one to drag week and actually do well.
308 and a powerglide? Not what I would have guessed but it works.

See kids, real burnouts don't involve using the brakes.
