- Today we head to the dyno to make as much power as we can in the Toyota Supra! The Supra currently makes 720 wheel horsepower and my target goal is to get close to the 1000 horsepower range! After the dyno session we wait for the rain to pass and go for a first drive impression. I have to be honest, I haven't always been a huge fan of straight line speed but after experiencing how fast the supra is now, I want more. Time for a bottom end build?

That power curve is insane, goes from like 200hp to 700+ within 2000 rpm
The turbo kick is insane

The power curve is horrible yes, good for doing burn outs, bad for any other form of driving.A 3.4 stroker with same turbo with vvti setup would make the best power curve and get at least near the 1k hp marA

You should do slicks to make sure it hooks first . If it doesn't hook at 840 whp, you'll be a rolling burn out machine at 1000

Car needs a new boost curve or motec. That thing is tuned to literally be a burnout car.

TJ, I too own a 93 JDM Supra, and share VERY similar setup. If your torque curve looks like that Hp curve, it would be in your best interest to have the tuner setup the boost so it comes on more gradually, otherwise you will bend those oem piston rods.

Well you said you were wanting to make 1000hp so you've got to do it man. Surely you could use the motor that's meant for Selena temporarily to get you through this race then build the motor currently in the Supra

@@Yoyogarage idk man, both 1000+hp both sequential gearbox. NSX might be a tad lighter but throtl’s supra has massive slicks to put the power down…
@@SwissTuned the NSX is a proven car though. I haven't seen any of the other cars make a pass like the NSX does.

You should do an episode learning about tires and suspension tuning that allows you to put that power down before turning it up any further.

I would go street drag radials on it. That would help with the traction issue some.

I think you should do a bigger turbo to make the power ramp in more gradual, and then you can always turn it up more with a built bottom end ;)

I have a 900 whp supercharged mustang and the thing is a party but because it's a blower car, the power band is very linear. I can't imagine the same power level on a turbo setup because of the way that boost hits you. Looks like it hits suddenly and with the aggression of a bullet train man your car must be a riot. So sick.
Honestly I completely understand the aspect of keeping it daily driver that’s reliable. Bro you don’t drive it often and you can send this fucking thing into the stratosphere. Even if you keep it as is , my god what a badass car. For content though go for the moon bro.

Build the bottom billet main caps a must. Put a precision 6875 or 7275 turbo on that and off you go. More injector also iD1600 cc your power level.

For sure build the bottom end and upgrade the turbo so full build for sure as it's worth it! A company here in the UK called whifbitz just made an adaptor plate for a zf8 box out of a mk5 for the mk4 "a white Mk4" and the thing is wild at only 700bhp but 8 speed keeps the 2j in boost all gears. Thing is wild. There's a video of it put up I'm sure by officially gassed. Worth a watch Teej...

Hey Teej, when showcasing the horsepower of your cars I think it would be cool if you could get like a shot from the outside just to see you take off I think it would help us understand just how fast it is a little more and also we’d see the car stepping out too! Much love!!

Just make sure you have enough fuel at the end of those runs to eliminate that as a cause of the drop off. You’re not running out of turbo, just maybe upgrade the back housing, or maybe enlarge the exhaust ports, or exhaust completely

Put it on the drag strip. When it hooks up all the way, youll enjoy it even more. Need some good radials or a softer compound to put it down and not tear up the track surface... what kind of knock detection is the supra using? E70 really might not be enough, stock internals may be past there limits without going to e90 for safety margin... Can't wait to see it really being used and curious how it'll stack up against the nsx, 4 rotor, and Trevor's supra. Good luck sir🤙
