A: I use Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro & After Effects. Photoshop for image editing and thumbnails. Premiere Pro for compositing and After Effects for motion graphics (the fancy animations).

I love how the mourning mercs is just the opposite version of the laughing taunt, including the taunt icon itself

The Mourning Mercs did an amazing job at recycling/reusing sound files that already exist in the game. Really well done.
Cosmetic quality is quite nice compared to some of the holiday updates in previous years. Good stuff

i thought koth_slime was going to be a great map but after playing on it i was dissapointed. It's just not fun and somehow it ended up being one of the worst halloween maps IMO and that's saying something. Not sure what went wrong. Valve making the salmons have 5fps probably didn't help

A surprisingly small amount of people seem to be talking about the maps. This is like the same level of high-quality map selection that we got from the summer update.
i can't decide between krampus and galleria. krampus played out like a winter themed halloween map while everyone in galleria was just roleplaying

I really wouldn't want to see it added into the game because of the odd quality of the animations on it and the creator of the item. The dude who made it has spammed the workshop with low to mediocre quality submissions in hopes of getting something in every update, while also blocking and deleting comments from anyone who calls him out on the workshop.
The hiding part of the taunt probably wouldn't be too huge of a problem considering how a snowman would stick out on a lot of maps and how the spy can already go completely invisible for an infinite amount of time using the cloak and dagger. Still happy that it didn't make it into the game regardless.
Cosmetic quality highly improved compared to previous Smissmas crates. Quite cool to see some nice looking cosmetics in blue quality tbh.
Some of the taunt unusual effects are looking really good, like Winning Spirit or the Galactic Connection ones.
Not 100% sure on how Unusual Taunt pulls are made, but if it will only be available during this Smissmas event, that would be a crime. I think it's probably the best all-round taunt unusual effect in the game.

Alright, gotta admit, THIS is the type of stuff Valve should be adding. No more of the wacky and weird when it's not warranted.

There's nothing inherently wrong with being goofy, but there's only so many elf hats, santa hats, christmas tree hats, and ugly sweaters you can add before they're all redundant.
@@Awesomeness-iz3dh Exactly. Wacky stuff is fine the problem it's that they feel obligated to add something overtly festive every year when in reality they can just add anything they like.
@@user-lh7mt7zo7l I think they've just been adding whatever people make, and people were churning out over-the-top festive stuff because they want to get their items added to the game officially and that was a lot of what was already accepted, so it sort of creates a feedback loop of people making festive stuff to get their items accepted and Valve adding the festive stuff because it's what a lot of people are making. It seems to have burnt itself out by this point, though, since everyone's gotten more than enough of it by now.
@@Awesomeness-iz3dh I remember someone saying they put effort into a non-festive bait item and it didn't get in but then they created festive bait and it was added immediately. I assume the quality change is them not feeling like they need to add shitty elf hats or whatnot.
Valve not adding Prophunt and actually creating a good cosmetic case (ignoring the Medic Hat...) Gives me hope that they will keep doing this great job, if we are going to have holiday updates, at least we need good stuff in the game.

i love that only 2 of the cosmetics are explicitly christmas themed and on top of that one of them can be used anytime without looking out of place due to alternate styles and the other could work with other cosmetics without looking too bad

I know everyone's talking about the cosmetics and unusuals and whatnot, but I'm most excited for the new maps! CTF HAARP is finally official after 12 years, KOTH Krampus is official, CTF Turbine Winter (officially Turbine Center) transforms a classic map into a mall for the holidays, and KOTH Snowtower is a phenomal rehash of Hightower. Can't wait to see the new maps in action!

All the cosmetics look pretty good surprisingly. Even the unusual effects are good this time around. Impressive. Most importantly NO LOOPING TAUNTS. (But really the Mourning Mercs is very impressive).
I’m finally glad the community and creators are starting to realize TF2’s art style is important! No more stupid candy cane hats or random shit on head!! Please keep this up everyone!!!

A lot of the body cosmetics look weirdly big, even for winter clothing

that's just a problem with body cosmetics in general, since they need to be able to fit over the whole playermodel, unlike simple hats, where the models include options to turn off the hair or default headgear or etc

Mourning Mercs is probably the best all-class taunt in decades.
It’s good they’re still adding unusual effects, but my biggest gripe is how they just recolor it like 3-4 times and throw them all in. One effect really just needs 1 or 2 variants, adding more just feels excessive. At the end of the day though, these effects are still much better than the previous holiday crates we’ve gotten.
The unusuals look amazing. It's just a shame I have less than a 1% chance of unboxing one :')
I know right, so many effects have been added and barely any time for people to unbox enough of same effect for trading. I mean, I always look forward others unboxing what I like so I can trade for it in future.

I still think that the cheers taunt needs some of its drinking sound effects shifted. Heavy using engineer's doesn't sound at all like heavy, and It doesn't make sense that demo isn't using his own drinking sound.

Actually, the missing textures are the TF2 team's fault. They forget to put the custom textures/models in before compiling the maps.

I feel like the Foul Play taunt was voted for out of spite from Valve still not fixing the bot problem.
I’ll always take more taunts that let Scout be obnoxious. Though there were a few others I liked a little more.
I voted for it's taunting and emote potential. Like you get destroyed and seeing red card like it is violation of rules to play *that* bad. But also it can be use to prevent people from killing freindlies or something. It nice and versatile taunt.

A lot of good stuff, especially taunts & cosmetics, the mourning one is especially funny, I can imagine some funny freeze frames with it.
i like having my 9 mercs be uniform cosmetically, and the cozy cover up is such a perfect fit with my other 2 all class cosmetics. so glad they added it, my search for the perfect third piece of my set is over!
That Sleuth Suit is awesome. I wonder if there's a hat that matches? I bet it would look good with the Gunslinger for a Cyber Detective kind of look.
