A: I use Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro & After Effects. Photoshop for image editing and thumbnails. Premiere Pro for compositing and After Effects for motion graphics (the fancy animations).

It's sort of complicated. Eruption was the first idea of the map that Billo worked on, but it ended up coming to the Steam Workshop later than Corruption did. Billo wanted to make a haunted asylum map so we kinda went with that. Eruption got onto the Workshop this April- after Corruption did.@@RolandTheJabberwocky

@@Fatsaver you give workshoppers too much credit, they're in their own little echochamber, all banded together, with a little community that follows them, so they upvote eachother alot. plus the fact that valve refuses pretty much to accept new workshoppers into the payroll so its the same 20~ or so creators who get all the items in the game and they've gotten complacent in the quality of their craft.
I see some potential to hide using crypt creeper on some Halloween maps. Like the box taunt for spy.

Cp_Sandcastle is such a cozy looking map, I’m glad it got in. Having TWO holiday variations of gravel pit is a little crazy. Love the new zi maps, I’m happy with this update.

cp_sandcastle has to be my favorite, turning dagrootkeep into a lil sandcastle and having the fight be in a tiny sandbox at night is cool.
i haven't experienced it yet, but i'm hoping they enabled medieval mode for this.

@@yeeoof1995 If they have to find places to hide, they could just find a dispenser or full ammo pack. Infinite hiding isn't that big of an issue for Spy, I'm just thankful the sniper one didn't get added (Without at least some minor visual changes to make it more noticeable)
I gotta say, some of these really feel like they don't quite fit. The clown's cover-up for instanxe has a... strange level of detail.
Moreover, it feels like quite a lot of these should be halloween restricted, but are not.

Nah but really though, I just like TF2's artstyle a lot. A lot of cosmetics muddy it a bit, but some are way worse than others. Just doesn't fit in with the aesthetics, ya know?
And the Halloween restrictions are all so strange to me. Like, heavy can't wear a regular tiara unless its Halloween, but he _can_ become an actual orc? _The damn corpse carrier_ wasn't Halloween restricted until people made a fuss about it, but a pumpkin beanie was too much.
It's just so inconsistent. Might as well remove Halloween restrictions entirely if you're not gonna use them.
That whole system needs reworking, I say.

The maps look great this year! Shame they're only around for Halloween
It's possible that they could add some to the base game (like ZI, because it's a custom gamemode), they did that with saxton hale.
I really wish we had a year-round "eterna-ween" section with all the best/most unique maps so they wouldn't be locked to one month out of the year.

@@captainfa-it-lcon915 We lose all Halloween mechanics like bosses and bumper cars and spells as well as entire gamemodes such as Crasher, Perks, and Zombie Infection. The only 2 Arena mode maps in the casual map pool are Halloween-exclusive. There are 2 Player Destruction maps available year-round. There's 8 in the game total. We lose out on so much variety and interesting content most of the year, and for the one month we actually have it available, we're all too busy playing whatever maps our contracts demand to actually play the exclusive content at our own leisure.
Zombie Infection definitely needs to be added permanently

There were so many good cosmetics on the workshop that I'm disappointed didn't get in. And the maps, I feel like last halloween had so many creative additions. Zombie infection is nice but idk, I need to try out most of them still. No new warpaints in unfortunate since I'm much more likely to get a new weapon over a hat but whatever.

I think the map is more so supposed to be playing around with the idea of the merc's being shrunk, rather than a sand castle being inherently Halloweeny

Na. We need Valve to add it into the game. So much SO MUC crap can get out of my sight. I mean without doing the math I'm sure I stick with 80% of the cosmetics. But some stuff really deserves to be put on the no thank you list. Even put taunts and effects on that list. I do not want awful Halloween stuff to stick around all year ruining the mood. Even if it cost some asshole $10 for a awful taunt effect.
I mean just sell the idea to be for the competitive players sake. Or better yet to please the snowflake crowd. I mean it might backfire when the furries complain about being censored or some shit. But then agen there is much worse stuff in the game then that stuff. Like there is so much garbage allowed into the game that is to the point of griefing. Lime scout etc etc. White paint. Name it. But no we need to mod and risk being banned right? Right Valve?
Anyways I say half of the hats here are ok. But the taunt effects and hat effects? Awful. All year around ruining the game. Like darn.

@@Labyrinth6000 one of the main conditions of being added is likely to be balanced in a "vacuum" of player skill. With class wars, scenarios like spy vs. pyro are as far away from giving both teams a fighting chance as possible. It'd be like if Hale could randomly get another 5k hp.

I'm not going to lie, it feels like they really fumbled the ball on this one in terms of quality for cosmetics.
A good chunk of the Merc grades should be halloween restricted, another chunk of the case doest feel like its TF2, and the others are either tacky or fine.

Can't believe the Zombie Infection mode got added. Although I guess it's now believable since they added the VS Saxton Hale gamemode.
the crypt creeper is definitely gonna be an alternative to the cloak & dagger, a pseudo cloak and dagger you can use with other invis watches. it's a similar situation to the box trot, giving a realistically achievable gameplay advantage with proper use; meaning it's pay to win in a sense

There are a handful of good cosmetics here (I like the convict Spy coat, Scout jester mask and Soldier gas mask) but the rest are either retreads of stuff we've already got or just look bad and unwearable. Putting aside how much of it should be Halloween restricted (honestly this has been going on for so long I don't see the point in the restriction existing at all) the case feels like it was rushed out the door at the last minute. People will gobble it up anyway unfortunately

I was REALLY hoping to see a better selection of cosmetics after the last two cases. I mean ANOTHER jester set for scout?? Come on. We were getting better and better items, but now we’re going back to Smissmas 2021 standards again
This is a lot better than Smissmas 21, and that is a REALLLLLY low bar that I think will need effort to beat.
They aren't all winners, but I think the Adrian Shephard mask for Soldier is pretty cool for what it's worth. The Medic's new Goku hair also looks sick, even if it's a bit over-the-top.

I almost wish I didn't have a sick themed unusual for my Soldier loadout because the Adrian Shephard-inspired cosmetic is so damn cool.
Make a separate one? doesn't need to be unusual to enjoy a loadout.
@@QuackZack It's just annoying because you only get 4 loadout slots. If weapons, cosmetics, and taunts were separated into their own sections and you weren't limited to just 4 slots, there'd be no issue.

Based on prior hats I have seen added before, I didn't think effects like this were feasible given the old engine

Most of these are total duds. No thought out into them. Some of these are pretty good.
