If money is no object, www.customcages.com can make you probably anything you want. It does not seem that these cages would be hard to make though. Got this set for $75 at petco. Not the greatest setup but for the price it's a good starting platform. Adding a misting system bigger vines a 3 foot fake leafy vine wall, along with a cricket feeding rock. Also gonna change up the lights
I think that as long as you clean the repticarpet properly (like rinsing it with boiled water) every two weeks or so, it should be fine. I've never heard or seen anyone that's had issues using it before.

My take on the kits is if the products in the kit work fine, and you're willing to buy all the extra fixings to go along with it to make the best habitat you can for your chameleon, I think it's okay. But here's the thing: if your cham is younger, therefore smaller, you might wanna start with a kit and then just upgrade the cage in the future to suit the size of your chameleon. Overall, I think the kits are okay as long as the price is worth it instead of buying each item separately, you dress up the cage to make it a good living space for your chameleon, and if your chameleon grows, you upgrade the cage into a bigger one.

Hey Emma love your review. I’m actually in need of a mesh enclosure for a devils giant flower mantis. Full grown they get to be maybe five inches. They also require 85-95 degrees and also humidity I’m not sure about. I think I’ve read 50 -60. I’m also concerned about the mesh. I would want to use a mesh that wouldn’t be harmful to the hooked feet that mantises have and metal/steel I think would damage there feet. The enclosure would need to be three times it length and two times the width. The reason being it needs this room when the growing process called molting takes place.
Hi I’m my girlfriends brothers really wants a chameleon I’m looking into getting him a good set up I watch your video on the reptireeze deluxe kit but saw it was not so good I’m gunna get him a panther chameleon I’m looking to spend about $800 including the chameleon i could really use your advice on what to get

is this ok for crested geckos of course i will change some stuff like substraight but the tank its self is it ok for crested geckos im a turtle owner so i dont know im trying to do resreach so please tell me
I bought this kit at a reptile expo for $100 and I wasn’t even planning on getting a chameleon so before I buy my chameleon I bought jungle vines with many plants. At the moment it looks great but you definitely need to buy extra plants and vines(If you use this for baby chameleons it would be okay to just use the starting things it puts in there for you) the vines that come in the package do make me nervous for adult chameleons because of the weight of the chameleon and the chance of the chameleon falling. I have not yet bought my chameleon so if you have bought this package and have an adult chameleon I would love to hear how they like it! (Also don’t worry about how chameleons are not beginner pets I am aware I have many reptile that are at top health and I have done my research about owning a chameleon)
Been looking at this kit for months now, can’t decide or really figure out if I want/need to get an open air like the repibreeze or if I should get a glass terrarium to keep humidity in but with open air cage I would think humidity would escape easily. Please let me know what you suggest. I’m looking at the same kit but the XXL 24’’x24’’x48’’, I love in South Carolina too on the coast and the Humidity outside here is at 30-80% but that’s obviously outside. Also been researching which I species I should get and I’ve narrowed down to a male or female veiled (which is most convenient to get bc they have them at local pet Store), a female panther chameleon, or a Jackson male...if you have any suggestions please help lol I want a good size cage like the size u suggested, a non aggressive species, and more of a pet to look at and make an awesome enclosure for with plants and vines, etc. let me know what you think please! 🤔 💭
As for which species, veiled chameleons will most likely be the most aggressive, especially males. Male panthers can also be quite aggressive though. A chameleon is never going to be a “friendly” animal, but Jackson’s, or female panthers will likely be the most docile out of these options. Keep in mind that females will lay eggs, so they will need a lay bin and such to ensure that they won’t become egg bound
Glass isn't recommended, veiled chameleons need air flow to help prevent respiratory disease. Some people will use glass because of their environment but they are very experienced with chameleons. Recommended humidity for a veiled is 50% which you probably won't have an issue with in your area, but always monitor it. If you really want a chameleon of any sort please join Facebook groups for its species & research. Don't rely on internet searches, there's a lot of misleading & contradicting info there.
I’m planning on purchasing a veiled piebald chameleon Sunday and I have done so much research but I’m still trying to find everything I need before purchasing it. Is there anyway you could help me out by creating a list on everything I need? Please snd thankyou
I’ll probably be missing a few things, but the basics that I can think of include - 2x2x4 reptibreeze enclosure - 24” T5 HO UVB fixture - 22” 10.0 reptisun UVB bulb - heat lamp fixture + heat bulb - plenty of plants, branches and vines for your chameleon - mister/misting system - calcium and vitamin supplement
Did you watch the whole video? I gave all my thought an opinions in the video, but ultimately yes this kit is terrible for chameleons, and much too small
I’m planning on buying fertile panther chameleon eggs , and i it’s my first time I’ve been watching vids all day. Could you give me any recommendations on the things I need such as food and cages and the uvb bulb you said it wasn’t good enough . Thanks
Kendall I’ve contacted them ab stuff cause I didn’t search up about the company before. So if anything happens like the animal is sick or dead I get my money back I think they’ve gotten better.
@Emma Lynne Sampson Hi, i actually bought a veiled chameleon last night (27/01/19) hes 10 weeks old so hes only just bigger than my thumb with the same Vivarium. so far he seems happy. but ive not seen him eat just yet. i have a question about the bulbs which one do i use during the day and which ones at night? when i asked this at the pet store i was told to look on the internet lol so here i am! thanks for the great video. i have just removed the green carpet stuff :)
Linear uvb t5ho and a basking light around 75w during the day. Nothing during night. They are good as long as temps are over 50. No misting during the day. Aloooot if humidity at night.
I would highly suggest joining chameleon Facebook groups! They have loads of information. I also have a few other chameleons videos such as one on the correct UVB lighting, and one on if they make good pets!
If you are going to get a chameleon do not and we all can't stress enough do not get a glass tank for them they need airflow ventilation. It maybe harder sometimes to keep humidity but you want the fluctuation of humidity just like in the wild.
I bought thus yesterday for a jackson and My biggest complaint about this is the plant why send something with a starter kit that you can't even probably put in it with what comes with it that's the point I'm going today after work to buy more plants and vines to put in it
Need help! What was that app called that she has mentioned in a past video where you can go and look at pics of reptiles and post your on pics and take quizzes?
And I agree I just got a baby veiled chameleon and purchased this kit to find out it’s a waist of money! The light isn’t enough at all and for people who don’t know that and keep trying to raise their chameleon without the proper habit sucks. The petco I went to also had bark chips in the cage and I guess that’s not okay because they can eat them when trying to get prey. :/

Hi I’m my girlfriends brothers really wants a chameleon I’m looking into getting him a good set up I watch your video on the reptireeze deluxe kit but saw it was not so good I’m gunna get him a panther chameleon I’m looking to spend about $800 including the chameleon i could really use your advice on what to get
smittyfs4 hey there! I would check out ththe yt channel Neptune the Chameleon, they have lots of great vids on there about panthers! This channel is more focused on veiled chameleon’s
is this ok for crested geckos of course i will change some stuff like substraight but the tank its self is it ok for crested geckos im a turtle owner so i dont know im trying to do resreach so please tell me
Could you just put two compact 10.0 uvb lights on top?!
No, you need a T5 bulb. The compact ones don’t reach far enough down into the enclosure
@@EmmaLynneSampson okay I found a linear one, but it is T8... is that just the size of the bulb
Oh awkward I’ve just been cutting holes in the mesh cage... I have random holes everywhere for the tree branches and stuff..
What about a baby veiled chameleon??? Pls answer
Just bought a 16 by 16 by 30 and it had the exact same wobbling issue
You’re probably better off with a screen cage. It’s really hard to find a glass cage large enough for the species you’re interested in
As for which species, veiled chameleons will most likely be the most aggressive, especially males.
I’ll probably be missing a few things, but the basics that I can think of include
- 2x2x4 reptibreeze enclosure
- 24” T5 HO UVB fixture
- 22” 10.0 reptisun UVB bulb
- heat lamp fixture + heat bulb
- plenty of plants, branches and vines for your chameleon
- mister/misting system
- calcium and vitamin supplement
@@EmmaLynneSampson Thankyou so much!
if i get a new uvb light fixture can i use the heat lighting from the kit still?
i have a veiled chameleon and that cage setup is that bad?
Did you watch the whole video? I gave all my thought an opinions in the video, but ultimately yes this kit is terrible for chameleons, and much too small
Does this cage and the things that come along work for a phelsuma grandis?
I have a question. Is it still ok to put a veiled chameleon I’m gonna get into that cage? Just wondering.
No, they’re still too small for an adult veiled unfortunately
Emma Sampson awww :(
If I got a large version of this would it be big enough for a veiled chameleon
The 24”x24”x48” reptibreeze is suitable for veileds
I’m planning on buying fertile panther chameleon eggs , and i it’s my first time I’ve been watching vids all day. Could you give me any recommendations on the things I need such as food and cages and the uvb bulb you said it wasn’t good enough . Thanks
AandP Productions I would check out Neptune the Chameleon on RUclips

Kendall I’m actual buying a turtle from backwaterreptiles.com
@@alexp7824 backwater reptiles is a mill breeder and often has sick and dying reptiles sent out
Kendall I’ve contacted them ab stuff cause I didn’t search up about the company before. So if anything happens like the animal is sick or dead I get my money back I think they’ve gotten better.
Early Squad Where You At?
Can I still do the duadome light but add a tube light ? Or will that be too much ?
Too much.
Emily Petty thank you ! I used my duo dome for one heat lamp one night light , then got a tube UVB
That's good to hear 😊
And you're welcome
What about a dome bulb? Sorry I wasn't paying much attention to the video bc I was doing stuff so I'm not sure if u said it already
Elaine o'Dea they need linear UVB
@@kendall4060 thank u
Smallest Arcadia T5 Forest dweller UVB fixture is 22 inch. My Reptibreeze kit is 16 inches wide. I want UVB T5 fixture. Thanks. I have Jackson's
You said you use real leafs for them how do you keep them from dying
@Emma Lynne Sampson
Hi, i actually bought a veiled chameleon last night (27/01/19) hes 10 weeks old so hes only just bigger than my thumb with the same Vivarium. so far he seems happy. but ive not seen him eat just yet. i have a question about the bulbs which one do i use during the day and which ones at night? when i asked this at the pet store i was told to look on the internet lol so here i am! thanks for the great video. i have just removed the green carpet stuff :)
Linear uvb t5ho and a basking light around 75w during the day. Nothing during night. They are good as long as temps are over 50. No misting during the day. Aloooot if humidity at night.
Does anyone have an idea of what can successfully be kept in this cage?
The screws that came with it sucked I had to go buy thicker screws because the ones that came with it kept stripping out from over tightening
Oh no this was the first thing I got for my 2 veiled chameleons
I am getting a chameleon soon do you have any advice for me this video really helped me so that I can get my veiled chameleon?!
I would highly suggest joining chameleon Facebook groups! They have loads of information. I also have a few other chameleons videos such as one on the correct UVB lighting, and one on if they make good pets!
@@EmmaLynneSampson Thank you so much I will do that would you recommend chameleon forums.
My aunt bought me this kit and I wasn't so sure about a screen tank. In my opinion I would use a glass tank
If you are going to get a chameleon do not and we all can't stress enough do not get a glass tank for them they need airflow ventilation. It maybe harder sometimes to keep humidity but you want the fluctuation of humidity just like in the wild.
Glass tanks will cause res purity infections and they’ll die. Some experienced breeders use them but they know what they’re doing and it’s not ez.
I bought thus yesterday for a jackson and My biggest complaint about this is the plant why send something with a starter kit that you can't even probably put in it with what comes with it that's the point I'm going today after work to buy more plants and vines to put in it
Is 18 x 18 x 36 big enough because I already got the enclosure going
For a panther
It’s big enough for a juvenile but an adult needs at least a 24”x24”x48”
@@EmmaLynneSampson I will do that after 6 months 👍👍
Where can I find that wire stuff you used
What would you say is the best chameleon for a beginner
Need help! What was that app called that she has mentioned in a past video where you can go and look at pics of reptiles and post your on pics and take quizzes?
Amino
Could you keep pygmy chameleons in this type of cage or Anoles ?
And I agree I just got a baby veiled chameleon and purchased this kit to find out it’s a waist of money! The light isn’t enough at all and for people who don’t know that and keep trying to raise their chameleon without the proper habit sucks. The petco I went to also had bark chips in the cage and I guess that’s not okay because they can eat them when trying to get prey. :/
ok so where else should i buy one as well as the fake plants in it ?
