Thanks so much for watching! Please hang in there with me for these first couple of reactions; I was still getting used to being recorded & got so involved watching the episodes that sometimes I forgot to say what was on my mind - LOL (that changes pretty quickly!) Enjoy! :-)
Please hang in there with us. There are some very hokey episodes and the first 2 seasons have more than their fair share and a low budget butt he show is well worth the journey in the end and will have you laughing and crying. Looking forward tot eh journey as a new sub.
Hi Dan, thanks for subscribing! Some of my favorite series have those same beginnings you mention - low budget, finding their tone - so I'm totally cool with ups and downs. I'm loving the show so far! :)
@@FourthWallReactions Hi, While every season has such episodes the show generally just gets better so you (and we) are in for a treat. Always great to see a new perspective on Doctor Who and your genuine nature makes you a great reactor.
I've seen Christopher Eccleston in a number of different movies and TV shows, but I think the Doctor is one of his all time best performances. When he's angry, when he's sad, when he's filled with childlike glee, it's always powerful.
With hindsight. it's interesting how the overall structure of this season works, with the individual stories doing the adventure of the week, but also demonstrating the range of the series as a whole.
1) "This is me. Right here, Right now." Has a much more deeper meaning than I orginally thought (future reference)... 2) Ok... when it comes to Doctor Who, there are so much references. But not just the past reference(like quotes/terms from past selves), but also future reference as well (not that many... but still...). 3) That confession in the ending, the Time War, will more be explained in the future :D 4) Haha, that Next Time during the end. Love that :D 5) After watching this so many times... I just realised... why does bringing Rose to the end of her own world will impress her? :v
Ooo, I'll note those references for the future! The Doctor was very emotional in that moment (This is me!) and his mention of his people's destruction got me very curious to hear the whole story. Yes, it's an interesting/odd choice for him to take Rose to witness Earth's ending - maybe he thought the distance would impress her, I'm not sure. Ha - those "next times" were killing me (LOL) I had to share them with you all! :-)
You have such an automatic charisma! I'm excited to watch your future reactions. You seem to be having a lot of fun watching and your laugh is so infectious, I love it haha.
Thank you, that is very kind! I'm having a great time with the show, and I'm so glad I decided to record the reactions - it's really fun to share them with you all. Thanks! :-)
Great to see you starting uour DW journey. Yes, the format offers almost unlimited scope for storytelling - all of time and space to sxplore, past and future, alien worlds and peoples, historical drama and present day thrills. One of the reasons for its longevity is the variety it brings to the screen week after week, as well as a willingness to evolve and change. And at its core it has real heart, compassion and humour.
Hi, thanks for joining in! That's such a beautiful description - I'm so excited to really get into the heart of the show. I think it's great so far. :-)
I just subscribed as I really want to see your journey through this universe, really enjoy it so far :) I have only started watching reaction videos recently and I so enjoy seeing people watch Doctor Who for the first time. Growing up in the UK watching the show (these episodes started airing when I was 11 so I was just about the right age to watch it) and having parents who watched the show, it is interesting to see someone go in blind. I knew a lot about the doctor from my parents before I watched. It would probably be good to note, not a spoiler just general knowledge, that the time war happened between the end of the old series and the start of the new one so this is the first version of the doctor to be the last of the time lords and so he is still dealing with the war and so things he does and how he acts are impacted by this fairly recent trauma. Thought you might find this an interesting aspect when you think about him :)
Hi there, thanks for subscribing! I appreciate knowing that background for the Doctor; something like that would definitely impact his emotional state, so that is very helpful to know, thanks. I started watching reaction videos about two years ago and never thought I'd be doing one, but here I am enjoying Doctor Who with you all, and I'm having a great time! Hope you enjoy the future reactions! :-)
I just found your channel and began watching these doctor who reactions. The rebooted series started when I was 5 and it still has a special place in my heart so I’m really excited to see you watch and hopefully enjoy the show!
I didn't realize this was uploaded only 4 days ago lmao. I got excited and wanted to see more episode reactions. I'm like..."man there's got to be like 80 videos" You have got A LOT of catching up to do. I mean we haven't even touched on classic who.
Hi! Yes, I'm just starting out, and I think it'll be a long journey (2 episodes a week!) but worth it. I've had some people suggest certain episodes of Classic Who, so maybe in the future I can check some of those out as well. Thanks for watching! :-)
Cool reaction. I see what you mean about Farscape, I hadn't thought of that before. For a family show, this has an impressively high body count. And, not imminently but at some point, you'll want to keep a box of tissues handy off camera; there are some sad episodes down the road.
welcome to the doctor who world. ive watched since it first came out in 2005. it takes awhile to used to and many tears will be shed. also dont forget the small details they be needed for future episodes
Thank you for the welcome! I'm definitely trying to keep an eye out for details, though I'm sure some will get by me...some already have! (lol) Thanks for watching!
Another fun reaction (why oh why didn't someone turn Galaxy Quest into a series lol). After my own issues with episode 1, the tone of episode 2 was definitely a step closer to what I was expecting ... I still had a couple of gripes at the time (eg walking through that high speed fan/blade) but nowadays I quite like this episode. Next up is episode 3, one of my favourites from season 1.
@@FourthWallReactions Yeah, as someone who really got into Star Trek in the 80s (though I was aware of it back in the 70s), I really picked up on the parallels of what had happened with the ageing Star Trek cast ... but it also had it's own sparkle and charm too :-)
The walking through the rotating fan blades didn't bother me as Time Lords can, if they concentrate, actually slow down time around them, as seen in one Classic Who story.
You've now seen the first (revived) series;so you'll have seen how it ultimately tells a complete story overall, while also consisting of standalone episodes. It's sometimes better to look at a particular series in retrospect, than just individual episodes. The Classic series followed a serial format, where one story would last six episodes;but then there would be a clean break before the next serial. They did a few series arcs;but not that many.
Oh, that's really interesting about the different approaches between the two big eras of the show. Television has changed so much over the decades. I feel like the mix of standalone episodes + a season/series arc is what a lot of shows do these days, but you'll always find exceptions to the rule. Fascinating!
@@FourthWallReactions I can do no better than refer you to FortyFive for ALL advice on this show :) Any Classic episode recommendations, etc. FortyFive has also compiled an excellent 'Whoniverse' viewing list (currently being followed by another Reactor - but I'm sure it's not meant to be exclusive!) which can be referenced for Reaction ideas. @FortyFive: Good point about the continuity. Can I also point out that a couple of plot points from 1989's Survival are also carried on,into the 1996 TVMovie?
In Classic Who they said, The Doctor was part Human in few episodes or maybe one and it hasn't come up again. In the 1996 TV Movie when they tried to start the series up again but in America he said, he was Half Human... That went away when they came back in 2005. I've read the chances of an Alien that looks like us existing is almost impossible and if they existed the chances of us running into them in the Universe is equally if not more impossible... I've said, they should take the Stargate approach and say, all the Humanoid like aliens are Human Hybrids that look human.. In Classic Who we run into Humans all over the Galaxy that have left Earth after an End World Event, Ark in Space, Sevateem... But then they make a current day Humanoid Alien and throw that off. To me they need to come up with something so it works with real science... Time Lords would be Human Hybrids exposed to the Time Vortex.
That's really interesting! (Maybe they'll revisit that issue in future episodes.) It's good to hear all of this because I would have spent a lot of time wondering if the Doctor truly looked human or if it was a disguise of some kind. It was definitely on my mind. :-) Thanks!

The Doctor doesn't look human. We look like Time Lords. They were here first.
Aha! I will keep that in mind. :-)
@David Roberts You're welcome! And have a pleasant evening!
@David Roberts How is that a spoiler? It is kinda obvious from the get go that Time Lords are/was way ahead of Humans.

Listen closely when The doctor and Rose enter the main hall. You can hear The Mox telling The Face of Boe... "This is the 'Bad Wolf' scenario."
Thanks so much for pointing that out! I was so focused on the Face of Boe...(lol)
