I'm really liking these. "A Fan and a Newbie" type reactions often go off the rails because the Fan. Just. Can't. Stop. Talking. But you two handle it brilliantly.
Love you guys. Such great reactions. Chris Ecclestone did such a great job - it's thanks to him that NuWho became such a success. Had it not worked with him, we would not have got more than one season. And he had great chemistry with Billie. I love how quick witted the Doctor is - finding he has literally nothing to give in return for the gifts that are being given out, he makes a gift out of the air from his lungs! Now that's style!
Series 2 had been commission after episode 1 aired due to the high viewers so I dunno how far Ecclestone effected s2 and he was only going to do one anyway
_"he makes a gift out of the air from his lungs!"_ It wouldn't really have worked if the first recipient wouldn't have been the trees. But for them, it was... I'd kind of compare it to the scene in Dune where Dr. Kynes spits on the ground in front of the Duke - on a world where every little drop of water is precious, and it comes 'directly' from him.
Katrina's expectant delight as the show approaches key scenes is great. And she clearly knows which bits are going to stick with Paula - whose reactions are a joy to watch. I'm loving this. It reminds me of the way my friends and I introduce each other to shows. I'm halfway through taking my oldest friend through the Walking Dead at the moment.
These two Doctor reviews have led me to subscribe. THIS is a format I can really enjoy! There's something special about a fan introducing a newb. One experiences it for the first time while all long time fans relive it through the newbie's reaction (while biting their tongue to not give too much of what will come away). To the newbie: just hang in there when things might seem to fizzle. There are a few duds each season, but the overall experience usually more than makes up for it. I would recommend lengthening the reviews a tad in order to discuss the episode and not cover just the reaction. I'd like to hear the thoughts that each had about the episode and guesses from the newbie about what will happen next (story or relationship wise). Not too much longer, though. Blind Wave has been doing a good job in their after show discussions, but they tend to get rather boring after 5-10 minutes or so. I'll watch for you next Monday.
You two are adorable! I loved where one was watching the other as the Doctor was excitedly watching the other aliens enter. When I introduce friends to Doctor Who, that is me in a nutshell. Keep up the great work and enjoy the ride!
The best thing about watching Dr. Who with a newb is that you always see things you missed the first 50 times you watched it! Plus, knowing what is to come I am so excited for Paula - you have so many tears to look forward to! Hehehe

I'm so into rewatching this with y'all! It only just occurred to me how fucked up it was for him to shock her so much with this as THE FIRST TRIP. He was the most careless of doctors, at this point.
As enjoyable to watch as last time, ladies! You're a nicely animated and balanced pairing. Nice to see Paula already picked up on how imaginative and sometimes surreal the show can be. Nice reaction. I like how invested in the show you both are in your own way. This episode gave me big 'Hitchhiker guide to the galaxy' vibes and I think I'm adjusting to the tone of the show. I really like the Doctor so far and Rose is already more relatable; her chips comment reminded me of some Buffy the Vampire Slayer finales. So this makes her real heroine in my mind!

He wasn't trying to impress Rose, he wanted to show her the end of Earth so that he could open up to her about the destruction of his own planet. Which he could only do with someone who had witnessed a similar event. The 10th Doctor is the show off. Not 9. Here, he is still in pain from the aftermath of the Time War.
We are not keeping this format forever. We have to work around schedules right now, but as soon as it is possible, you will be getting multiples per week. I promise, that is my number one goal! I'd like not to have to be at this for decades. ;-)

As a golden oldie fan of the original run of the show I was pretty disappointed with the tone of the show's revival but have mellowed to it with repeat viewings, even more so with reaction videos like yours. Love the chemistry you two share and the sense of fun and energy you take from the show and express in your reactions. We never intended for this channel to become such a "We Watch" or even a reaction based series. Even our show "Fan Theory" became more of a reaction series than a "FAN THEORY" series, because no one wanted to watch us make fan theories. Does that mean that we are done with them? Heck no, we just are building momentum right now. We just want to give people what they want. And right now, all they seem to want is more "We Watch" content and reaction-based content. I know... you start off with a vision, but you gotta grow somehow and give the people what they ask for. You guys have the potential to be really cool to watch, but I hope this is constructive - I find the girl who already has watched it really overpowers the new fan, and kind of doent let her really formulate her own opinion because shes leaning more forward and kind of taking over with talking about the scenes and already reacting to characters in positive or negative ways before the other knows if theyre good or bad etc. I know you guys have continued on and are way past this now so my opinions redundent, its just really distracting imo so Im hoping thats something that calms down because I do like youre guys set up and enthusiasm
In the beginning I was VERY excited and VERY nervous all at the same time of trying to figure out how to act. I will admit I came on a little strong in moments 😅 But I feel that I got much better as we both settled in and got more comfortable! You'll have to be the judge of that though. Hi there! My name is Katrina (Kat) and I'm sorry for not responding sooner! I saw this comment and then lost it by accident! From new who my favorite Doctor would have to be David Tennant (with serious props to Christopher Eccelston for setting the course straight of course!) From Classic who, I cant help but be a huge Tom Baker fan! Companions I am a HUGE fan of Rose Tyler (apparently some people dont like her and I didnt even know it!) And next up is absolutely DoctorDonna!!! Its so hard for me to pick a favorite season because they all resonate in my heart for some reason. But I will say the weeping Angel's story line is one of my favorites!!
Katrina, if you see this please when you gesture the number two turn your hand around because in the UK to show two fingers with the nails pointing towards the person is a bad insult. This is why the v for victory sign is done with the inside of the fingers towards the people. The two finger gesture with the outside surfsce towards the people is our way of flipping the finger.
I miss Rose in her early episodes, because she was a good character with a few annoyances (her treatment of Mickey and Jackie, as well as other things). In her later episodes though...*shudders*
One thing that always bothers me about the Newer DR who's is how the population of the planet earth keep forgetting about him. He saves the planet from aliens all the times, Large spaceships, marauding armies, Alien world domination.THEN some guy find a weird thing in a forest, reports it and the cops says "Aliens!? are you mad!?" OR "Let me Introduce myself IM the DOCTOR!" The Human Response... "Who?" (HA!) Writers are like New Season lets pretend all the stuff from last season never happened on earth??? It bugs me!

You guys have the potential to be really cool to watch, but I hope this is constructive - I find the girl who already has watched it really overpowers the new fan, and kind of doent let her really formulate her own opinion because shes leaning more forward and kind of taking over with talking about the scenes and already reacting to characters in positive or negative ways before the other knows if theyre good or bad etc. I know you guys have continued on and are way past this now so my opinions redundent, its just really distracting imo so Im hoping thats something that calms down because I do like youre guys set up and enthusiasm
In the beginning I was VERY excited and VERY nervous all at the same time of trying to figure out how to act. I will admit I came on a little strong in moments 😅 But I feel that I got much better as we both settled in and got more comfortable! You'll have to be the judge of that though. From new who my favorite Doctor would have to be David Tennant (with serious props to Christopher Eccelston for setting the course straight of course!) From Classic who, I cant help but be a huge Tom Baker fan!
Companions I am a HUGE fan of Rose Tyler (apparently some people dont like her and I didnt even know it!) And next up is absolutely DoctorDonna!!! Its so hard for me to pick a favorite season because they all resonate in my heart for some reason. But I will say the weeping Angel's story line is one of my favorites!!

Katrina, if you see this please when you gesture the number two turn your hand around because in the UK to show two fingers with the nails pointing towards the person is a bad insult. This is why the v for victory sign is done with the inside of the fingers towards the people. The two finger gesture with the outside surfsce towards the people is our way of flipping the finger.
I miss Rose in her early episodes, because she was a good character with a few annoyances (her treatment of Mickey and Jackie, as well as other things). In her later episodes though...*shudders*

One thing that always bothers me about the Newer DR who's is how the population of the planet earth keep forgetting about him. He saves the planet from aliens all the times, Large spaceships, marauding armies, Alien world domination.THEN some guy find a weird thing in a forest, reports it and the cops says "Aliens!? are you mad!?" OR "Let me Introduce myself IM the DOCTOR!" The Human Response... "Who?" (HA!) Writers are like New Season lets pretend all the stuff from last season never happened on earth??? It bugs me!
