    2. Move your body with positive affirmations
    3. Empathy ❤

  • @someonerandomhere

When a neuroscientist says more empathy is what society needs most today, you listen... Everyone is too self focused; and of course, when you only think about your problems, they become huge and anxiety inducing.
Just be kinder, truly listen, give your mom a hand. Just look a little beyond yourself. Breathing and exercise do wonders, but it's empathy that really reframes your mind.

I agree….That’s why I mostly stopped following the news about a year ago. I get daily email summaries of the news from the AP and the New York Times, but I almost always just glance at the headline of the emails and don’t open them. If I do open them, I only glance at the headlines inside. I also found a way to disable news stories showing up automatically on my Google search page.
It’s a huge change from when I used to be way too consumed and affected by all the suffering and negativity in the world. I’m very sensitive and empathetic, and it was causing me tremendous stress, anxiety and sadness to be aware of every horrible thing happening all over the world, in excruciating detail, the moment it happened. We’re not meant to live like that!! Not to mention, I could have been spending that time doing something more productive for my own life.
The media knows negative stories draw more attention, so that’s what they flood us with. It seems like the world is about to end every day for a million different reasons…but it’s been like that for as long as I can remember.
There is value in being aware enough of societal issues to be an educated voter and to contribute however you can to causes that are important to you. Beyond that, I think it’s important, especially for sensitive people like me, to realize there is absolutely NOTHING most of us can do about the things we read about in the news, and to trust that there are people out there who CAN do something and are doing it.

This was very briefly mentioned at the start of the video but feeling stressed is not clinical Anxiety. The distinction was then buried in some already fairly well known techniques for reducing stress levels.
I have professionally diagnosed Clinical Depression and Anxiety (GAD, Social). I also get stressed about every day things like running late for appointments, having to make an awkward phone call, etc.. These are two very different things. My Anxiety ( before treatment) was a persistent feeling of 'something' being wrong, I'd made a mistake, being judged, I'm not good enough..... . These thoughts were there from as far back as I can remember and I needed more than just breathing or moving to reduce the symptoms.
I don't work in the medical field, but there seems to have been an over-correction to the supposed over prescription of antidepressants. This could be putting some people at risk of not seeking professional help for clinical depression and/or anxiety.

    • @rocky_wang

How "genuine" is your fear? If that's because of something realistic like how to pay the bills for this month, it's better to solve the problem. If the fear is not a realistic one even though you feel it genuinely, like the ET will invade the earth, you may need therapy. I went through both types of fear and that was my opinion😊
