For one, I still struggle to understand why some of these people refuse to lock their door; whether urban, suburban, or rural. The third story absolutely boggled my mind. It's like you knew, as a listener, exactly what was happening while the person in the middle of it still seemed to be so clueless.
My late husband used to be like that until I lost my mind & told him I'd move out if the door didn't remain locked since he refused to set boundaries with people. The incident that led to this final ultimatum was that my late husband's ex was coming to pick up their son so he & I were going on a date after his son left so I jumped in the shower (clear glass shower door in the master bathroom that you had to walk through the entry, dining room, kitchen, living room & our master bedroom to even get to. I hadn't locked the bathroom because he was in the bedroom when I got in the shower). Without telling me or locking any doors, he decided to bring the kids to the gas station to get them a treat before his son left. The gas station was 2 minutes away. His car was gone. Mine was home. While they were gone, his ex showed up, didn't knock, walked into & through my whole fudging house & into my bathroom where I was in the shower to "look for her son". I jumped & yelled at her to get the ef out of my house. That's when the locking of the door started. Ex had no boundaries. She even walked through MY parent's very large house into one of the back bedrooms because my late husband was changing their son's clothes when she got there instead of waiting in the entry like a normal person. I've always locked my doors. Some people are nuts.

my mom and grandparents were robbed extremely violently before i was born. my mom was around 15 at the time. a group of armed and masked robbers completely destroyed their front door, beat my grandpa unconscious, destroyed all telephones and then started asking about a safe. my grandma told them they didn't have a safe, and then they hit my grandma too, but my grandma insisted they didn't have one, and then the robbers just left with nothing. my mom ran to the window to see them speeding off in a nondescript van with no license plates. grandparents were physically ok afterwards, but the group of robbers were never caught. the thing is, my grandparents did have a safe. a safe very few people knew about... grandma was just too tough. they think they know who was behind the attack but nothing could be proven.
Whether your grandfather told someone he was thinking of buying or going to go buy, or seen looking at or buying a safe... or an unknown person, friend or relative of that person that over heard the conversation. I've sat in a small town diner by myself, overhearing what is being said by locals in the booth behind me...often times I 'know' who they are and where they live, but do not actually know them. If I was a bad person that overheard 'Joe was going to buy a safe today" that could be in my mind for a long time. Even years later...
Last year, I was working out of state for a few months so I left my wife at the house. She said a few times she looked out the windows and saw a man standing in the shadows under our tree along side the street quite far from the street lights. She asked me to order 2 solar pv motion lights for her which helped. A few mornings after I did come home we opened the guest room attached to the garage and clearly someone had slept on top of the bed and left in the early hours. True story.
As a woman whom lives alone... your story REALLY chilled me !! Thank goodness your wife was unharmed and survived the home intrusion !! Far out dude that's scary to even think of that !! 😱
@@juliecook6057 I was actually more scared for the weird guy. My wife was planning on building a stand in the tree with her bow and arrow along with her spear for a back up lethal finishing tool. Luckily it never came to that. We think the lights scared him off. It was pretty weird though. As for the guest bed...I am glad he left before she/we caught him.
It was a good ruse if he was just hiding but he should have locked his bedroom door and exited safely out the bedroom window rather than almost breaking his neck and then eventually getting caught.
Even locked doors, people can get in. Years ago when my parents were out, we had an Atari 2600 I was playing adventure on when power started going out in different sections of the house, not all at once like a black out. I was 13 and brother 8. Went and opened our basement door, which thank God was solid with sheet metal, something all homes in my area were built with. I took 3 steps down the basement stairs when I saw a set of shoes visibly sticking out near the boiler room, as if someone was trying to hide by the breaker box. I quickly walked back up, closed the basement door, and locked it, taking the key that we normally leave in the lock. Pulled my brother off my game he took over and told him to come with me now and not to say a word. Went next door and neighbor called the police. They got there in a few minutes and searched the house and found no one except for the storm bay window, was the the latch pulled through the wood, showing it was forced open. Whoever it was left the same way. I called my parents who rushed home and police took prints off the breaker box and breakers, but at that time, no one was caught. Few days later, a woman was found murdered in their home, they assumed was robbery gone bad. Weeks later it was found to be the husband and that his prints matched the ones on our breaker box. Turned out, the woman was divorcing the man after she caught him cheeting so he killed her and staged it to look like a robbery, and it was the police beliefs he broke into our home to kill my family, so he wouldn't be suspect, being multiple killings. Similar thing happened with a sharp shooter few years lator. Shot and killed a few people, to hide the fact he shot his own wife.
I have heard that the DC Sniper was doing the same thing. He was randomly shooting people and had planned to kill his wife. Because of the shootings, he thought that he wouldn't have been a suspect. They were in a custody dispute and it amazes me how far he was willing to take that. I'm glad you were ok and you handled that well.

Your dad clearly never been in danger ever in life. Living in a bubble that got him overly confident is how ppl end up in bad situations that could have been prevented. Keep your doors locked. He's sad to say not very bright.
what a stupid inexperience Father!! Though there is a possibility that intruders can get in even if the door is locked, locking the doors and windows will deter the criminals from coming in. Why people building a house, why there is a door that can be opened and close? Is it for protection from outside dangers?! so I dont see why many people, particularly in the west are dumb enough not to lock their entrances and exit?
@@pennyproud1621 It's pretty common practice in low-crime countries. No one I know locks their door during daytime when home (downstairs) where I live, none of them ever had an issue. I'd rather not live in paranoia and run the incredibly tiny risk of a daytime home invasion.
I've got a somewhat chilling family story to share.. My Grandparents had a beautiful Victorian home with a large oak tree in front on Main Street in Napa California. My grandfather's name was John. One particularly dark evening, with no moon out to light the night, my grandmother looked out her kitchen window to the front yard and saw the outlined shadow of a man standing under the large oak tree and facing the front porch and door. John was a pipe smoker and often stepped outside to sit on the porch to smoke his pipe, so my grandmother simply assumed it was him, coming home from a late night with coworkers and stopping out front for a smoke before coming inside. When he didn't come in after a few minutes, my grandmother threw the dish towel she'd been using to dry the dishes over her shoulder and went out onto the front porch, down the stairs and began crossing the dark yard, heading toward who she thought was her husband. The figure was facing her but remained silent, which is probably why her step began to slow as she got closer to him and became more hesitant. When she was about 6 feet away, she said, "John?"... to which the man replied, "Mm-hmm". She knew immediately it wasn't her husband's voice, wasn't her husband at all, and she turned and quickly made her way back inside. The figure stayed under the tree for another several moments before finally turning and walking away down the side alley next to their yard. 😬😳

HOME ALONE Something similar happened to me when I was a teenager. One night I was home alone and it had started getting dark outside. So I turned some interior lights on and proceeded to go around and close the blinds and drapes. When I got to my brother's room, which was on the side of the house by our backyard, I reached up to grab the blind wand to close the blinds. Just then someone pounded on the window. I froze. I couldn't move for what seemed like an eternity but in reality was probably only a few seconds. I obviously couldn't see outside so I closed the blinds and hurriedly ran to the other rooms and closed those blinds and drapes. I then turned on all of the exterior lights and floodlights. All of the windows and doors were locked so I didn't have to worry about that. Dad had trained us to at least do that. I should have called the police but I was so freaked out that it just didn't occur to me. Well I told him what happened and that weekend he put up a fence with locking gates on either side. Here's the thing. We lived in the very back of an upscale housing edition a block away from the lake. This was in the 80's and crime just didn't happen in our area back then. Nobody on our street would do anything like that and to this day I have no idea of who it could have been. 🤔 😇
The fact that most of these stories, and those clips of “weird things found on a dash cam” or, ring bell and that not everyone is found genuinely scares me.
I always lock after 10pm, I even lock during the day when I can. Even though crime rarely ever happens in my neighborhood, you never know. It's better to be safe than sorry.
And this is why im scared of being home alone. Every time I'm home alone i make sure the doors are locked, and curtains closed. I like to speak to a friend/family so I can let them know if I hear/see anything. I prefer to not have the TV on so I can hear. And I also have a dog that won't stop barking so that doesn't help haha

1st story guy was smart to fake being in their room. Outplayed them
This is exactly what I didn't know I wanted spending Friday night alone at home. Fantastic stuff!
Omg
Ok
That’s crazy I live in Napa
Lmao “Mm-hmm”
Damn.. Only thing missing is that they were living in Castle Rock

Thanks for sharing these three true horror stories of being home alone, upon watching them it is very important to always keep your doors locked and not to answer them as unfortunately somehow these three victims have just experienced this as simply an house break in whilst others have stated the feat the worst
Yes just on time to enjoy these stories.

@@MalakiDaniel i can understand 🤣🤣
I’ll never understand why ppl leave their doors and windows unlocked! And on top of that, they never close their blinds or curtains at night! You’re inside a lit room with blinds or curtains open, and any psycho or coo-coo bird can see EVERYTHING you’re doing! Idc where you live or how safe you THINK your neighborhood is, the days of keeping doors and windows unlocked are over!
Fr I always say that but people call me parionoid
@@Samcox2007 you DEFINITELY are NOT being paranoid! There’s not a snowballs chance in hell my blinds or curtains would be open after dark. AND my blinds are tilted up, not down cuz they can’t see in if the blinds are tilted up.
@@ILOVEmyLord2024 I never have my blinds open and I hate locking my doors, because whenever my parents leave they typically come back with something and get mad at me for locking the doors.
I live in an apartment complex. And it's crazy how many instances I've seen people as I'm walking back to my apartment just leave their blinds open at night with their lights on while they're doing whatever in their living room or inside their apartment. Of course, I always look away right away, but it's like some people don't even care about privacy anymore.
It's usually men that leave the door unlocked; I know myself I am paranoid and lock them immediately.

The 1st Person Was Smart, They Locked Their Bedroom Door From The Outside To Make It Seem Like They Were In Their Bedroom 🔥
why is every word capitalized
Might kinda seem made up his story bcz think about if somebody breaks into your house and there is a bedroom door unlocked why wouldn’t they jus kick it down if they were there to kill somebody or do things of such nature
Just what I wanted😀 yay!!!
Hell yeah
In story 3: I don’t understand that what’s the need to get out of the house, you know that your dog doesn’t growl often or even at times.... I would have rather been inside and locked the doors and windows, while calling the police. Such bravery of getting out of your way doesn’t always work.

@@ljnouata9088 Ouch Lj, cant ask that here 😂 well Mr.Nightmare is OG and as I have listened to him for longer that would probably be my choice however, Chilling Scares is doing an awesome job of bringing himself up to the same level within such a short space of time and its definitely refreshing to have something new which is equally as awesome.

HOME ALONE
Something similar happened to me when I was a teenager.
😇

And this is why im scared of being home alone. Every time I'm home alone i make sure the doors are locked, and curtains closed.
