The last case of the old man living in isolation, peacefully in the woods, and being killed by a somebody, made me sad. The capacity of doing evil by humans is infinity

If he's living so far from civilization that he can go years without another human even knowing if he's alive or not, he's not living peacefully. That's hard work, and a lot of expensive equipment. You don't just live in isolation in Alaska without being able to harvest and process resources yourself. He was probably raided by some guys. Not even necessarily for the bigger equipment, like tractors, but just for his guns, maybe stores of food, a safe filled with cash or metals (that an older guy especially would be likely to have as opposed to a younger guy who might keep all his finances digital) etc. Or maybe just an assumption that he had that stuff. Bad people go to Alaska because it's easy to hide. It's big and empty.

I was homeless for almost a year and lived a tent life in the woods for atleast 6 months. Atleast 1 night a week, maybe more, I would get this overwhelming feeling of dread and someone watching me in the dark. Those entire nights, I would be highly alert and unable to sleep. Bascially patrolling my campsite with my Machete in hand, eyeing the darkness. Waiting for anything to pop out of the darkness. Primal stuff. You gotta have balls of steel to handle the woods at night, all by yourself and alone

The Robison murders took place near Good Hart, Michigan in 1968, in the heart of northern Michigan's tourist area. It was big news. A book came out about the case, and the author remembered riding "up north" with her family listening to the Tigers on WJR, when a newscaster broke in to say a Detroit-area family of six was found murdered near Good Hart.
The murders are still unsolved. The prime suspect discussed here, Joseph Scolaro, was never charged with a crime. He killed himself in 1973.

There are so many unsolved cases of people finding bodies in suitcases along roadsides, in forests and in water. The most recent one I've heard about was a couple that won a storage unit locker at an auction and found two suitcases inside. They brought them home and opened them on their lawn. Each suitcase contained the body of a child, one around 7yrs old and the other apx. 12yrs old. If you ever come across a suitcase that is out of place don't open it. Call the police and have them investigate if anything is inside.

I was running through the woods at night once because my dog got lose..and decided to run into the woods. It was pitch black out, i had only a tiny pen light to see and as i was running after the dog.. i felt what i can only describe as a person sort of closelining me, then grabbing onto my arm. I was in shock and my adrenaline was pumping..i pulled my collapsible baton out(always carry one) and started going to town on what i thought was a person. I was going nuts..throwing knees and elbows and just swinging that baton like a madman!!!! After beating this object for about a minute i managed to grab my little pen light..and it turns out it was a small stree with a really wicked arm shaped branch, i am not even exaggerating the tree was about 6 foot tall and had this branch sticking out that looked exactly like a rough outline of a arm with a hand.
I Unfortently destroyed part of it. Thankfully the rest of it survived..man the woods can play tricks on you sometimes.
EDIT/Update: I forgot to mention this. It is important that i do. This happened back in 2014 or so. My family and I moved last year in october. Last year around September, before we had to move, i actually tried to look for the tree. It was gone..I mean gone...vanished! There was no longer a root where it was. There were no tracks or cut marks or any signs that a person chopped it down. To this day I honestly think it was something else, and one day it pulled itself out of the ground and walked away. The land we used to live on actually used to belong to native americans.

One that I have witnessed (I live in England) is that there was a tent and me and my friends went to investigate. The tent, which looked all ruined and destroyed, was set up in a clearing hard to get to. But, what was most weird was the items around the tent: a knife, cans, a box which was locked, a small cage and something that we thought was drugs. That was when we left as we did not want to get near the drugs, which smelt so bad. Also, this was really near to my house...

About the Christopher Knight story. Living in Maine I can tell you that fairly often winter temps go well below 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Sometimes the temps will be below 0 F for days at a time. The fact that he even survived so long in the woods in those conditions, not to mention not even getting frostbite, is actually very impressive. Just saying.

His story is something ive used as an example for the disappearance and death of my Grandfather. Everyone EXCEPT the head of the police department ( The one person with the power AND a mutual frenemy of my family in that area ) believes he was murdered.
He was on his way to pick up his kids for a visitation and was never seen again. His jaw bone was found in the mountains after almost 2ish years and they IMMEDIATELY called it death by elements/animals and closed his case. There is so much wrong with this case that is going on 30+ years cold ( ' closed ' ) My grandfather grew up and LIVED in those woods, chopped down those trees and hunted his own meat. He knew it better than his own kids probably, anywho. Around the time theyd halted searching the mountains was once the 6 + months of below freezing winter started. Our family took helicopters over the mountains searching for him. All we found was his jaw that had looked like it was shot off, not chewed off .

8:45 - My family had a cottage on North Pond in Maine where Christopher Knight was active. It was a local legend of a hermit living in the woods, I never believed it - I always thought it was someone locally, probably of limited means who just stole what they needed and blended in with the local populace. NO WAY someone would live outside continuously in the woods like that during winter - for years - I thought. I was wrong and amazed the day my mom called me when they caught the hermit. He did hit our place once, very clever the State Police did not know how he did it. Admittedly, I spent more than one night out there staking it out to catch him, not to intentionally hurt or kill the man but just to get him arrested. I'm glad he was arrested because it wasn't so much what he took (things of limited value, really) but the fact that you never know what someone is capable of doing to get away with being caught when facing arrest and prison.

I wandered into a local forest preserve one time, far off the path where anyone would go. I was pretty deep into the forest, it would take around 20 minutes to get where I was. I found a weird, old, thing of barbed wire. It was wrapped around in circles, I can’t explain exactly what it was like. I do have a picture of it, but I still don’t know what it was about. I have the location on the picture, and one day when the forest isn’t all overgrown like it is in the summer, and is less infested with bugs, I may visit it again.
Edit: Me and some buddies went in a couple more times. We found car parts, a decent distance away from the road and heavy enough to the point where just heavy winds would never blow them all that far. We found even more barbed wire in a couple other spots, and rediscovered the one I found last year. We also found what looked to be a trail cam strapped to a tree and some buckets that I have no idea what purpose they had. We’re planning on going back again. Who knows what we’ll find.

It had obviously been abandoned years ago, as this was in the 1970's and the magazines laying around were from the 1930's. He was fascinated by it, but was more interested in chucker hunting. When no trespassing signs and fencing don’t work get creative and creepy and people will scare themselves out of coming there. @@coltonwilkie241 you completly ignore outside threats. All it takes is an asteroid and we are doomed. We did not destroy ourselves beyond repai yet amd this is not the reason we run. We run becouse a single space rock can kill us all

If I walk into the forest and see an abandoned suitcase, I'm 100% assuming there's a dead body inside, no way in gell I'd open it. Nah. I'd call someone right away 😭

Totally agree with you mate !! It's almost guaranteed to be a dead body in the suitcase AND NOT MONEY !! ( Which is probably why so many silly people open a suitcase...greed !! )

Sometimes I forget that people can put whatever they want outside in a public space as long if no one notices. Thats scary dude, makes me a little more paranoid when hiking and camping 💀
