      Hi Nancy! Cakes made from scratch tend to be denser than box mix cakes. Try sifting the dry ingredients to prevent grittiness. Happy baking! -Stephanie

      Yes, I made this recipe and it seems perfect a perfect fit for fruits. I'm thinking peach for my incoming one. Sorry to pitch in your funfetti cake without being asked but I think if you make a strawberry mousse or strawberry whipped cream in both cases with little chunks of strawberry would be AMAZING. And adding some simple syrup in between layers would be great.

      I made it 3 weeks ago... :) and everything else would be to much work ( and to many money ) i only had 2 hours the day before, and 1 hour and 30 mins on the day, i made it for my class.

    PLEASE HELP!!!
    Almost every layered cake recipe online is for 8 inch pans. I only have 9inch and cannot purchase any 8inch at the current moment.
    *Whats the best way to change a recipe from a 3 layer cake made in 8inch pans to a 3 layer cake in 9inch pans??*
    And please don't only suggest investing in 8inch pans.. I like wider cakes.

      What happened with me is that the recipe called for three 8 inch cake pans and I only had two 10 inch cake pans so I just divided to batter so each cake pan had 1.5 cake batter inside. So maybe you should try to divide the batter into your cake pan. It might work.

      I bake similar cakes which are gluten free Peggy so I think this recipe would work if you substitute for a gluten free flour mix. But make sure you get one which comes recommended (some are better than others!) Also, check the baking powder as some have gluten in!

      Replace the eggs with condensed milk 1 egg = 5 tablespoons of condensed milk
      Is you use sweetened condensed milk than reduce the amount of sugar

      Hi uhm. I have a question, why is my butter and sugar not creaming? Its been over 10 minutes now.. My butter is also very much at room temperature so I don't know why its not working..
