Great road, much wider than when I first went up in a Seat 600 in March 1961! Ssingle track much of the way, tight hairpin bends, coaches had to reverse back and take 2 or 3 goes to get round! Thanks for the journey again.
It's amazing to be in summer kit again after a long wet winter and not a much better summer before that. Looks like we'll have to go back as Julie still hasn't finished the lighthouse ride to her satisfaction 😁
The pro's train there too, it looks like great cycling there, the weather is heavenly.... hahaha edit: Both your freehubs singing at full speed :) Makes descending even better
It's a fantastic place to ride. The climbs are manageable and mostly consistent in fantastic surroundings. There's always a cafe Less than 15 km away.😁 An amazing place 👍
That's a great ride. My wife has been as far as the first viewpoint in the past, but is planning to ride to the lighthouse next Thursday. Fingers crossed for you Julie.🤞
Great video and seeing the sun and blue skies. The air force must have known you were there to give you a fly past. That was a fast decent, I hope you don't have hookless rims (I would be scared the tyres would roll off the rims).
No hookless here... More luck than judgement on that one 😁 Yes a fast descent but a touch windy to take real advantage of it. We'll have to go back and try again 😂👍 Cheers Martin
Those skies... that sea... those mountains... those roads 🤩 Fabulous stuff. Shame about not being able to reach the lighthouse - you'll just have to go back and try again sometime this or next year 😉😁 Great stuff!
Well, done Julie. You inspire me to do better with my riding. And I'm with you regarding the descending. 35mph or so and I start to pucker a bit. What a beautiful ride. I think that I'm adding Mallorca to my cycling wishlist. We actually had springtime weather last weekend here in Boise. I got out both days for 87+ miles. 52 on Sat. with 2247ft of climbing. Trying to get the climb muscles built up for my other wish ride in June. I'm driving to northern Idaho to ride the Route of the Hiawatha trail, plus some extra rail trail for 52 miles total. There are 9 tunnels that I'll see twice, so I'm thinking there may be a yee-haw or two along the way.
Wow! Now that was spectacular - easy to see why you and all the other cyclists love Mallorca. As for knowing your limits, in terms of speed - maybe we slowly push them, get comfortable, then push them a bit more. For me, right now, 40kph is the edge of my comfort zone.
Back to Mallorca, nice! I'm planning on going again in a few weeks and this time staying in the south at Palma Nova. I know you both went last year and rode from Palma(?) when was that as I'll check out your routes again. Also if you have any thoughts/tips for riding in the south please let me know. Thanks Steve.
Hi Steve, we stayed in Santa Ponsa and had some great rides but the ride we took to Llucmajor could have been better, especially coming back in through Palma definitely needs changing. Have a good trip 👍
Lovely place to ride! 😎🌞🌞🌞We were so lucky with the weather, it had poured with rain on the sun before we got there....... and it rained on our journey back to the airport but not while we were riding! 😊🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️
@@WheelersAtLarge My favourite downhill in 1960 IRL was always the B3069 from Kingston pub all the way down to Swanage. That was followed by the downhill through Studland and whizz non-stop through the toll gate. Branksome Chine passing the beach was good. On FulGaz I have countless 70-90 km/h Alps and Cols to race down in perfect safety.
Great video just a shame you couldn’t get right to the lighthouse. I’m aiming to ride it for the first ever time in August. Any tips would be appreciated 👍🏼
Oooh exciting Andrew! 🌞👍🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️My tip would be to go early on in the day, it'll be pretty warm in August. Take plenty of water and refuel at the lighthouse! 😊
Definitely start early to avoid the heat and traffic. It should be car free for the 2nd half with just the occasional bus to watch out for. Have a good trip and thanks for commenting 👍
Hi, how long have you had the Merida Scultura and would you recommend the bike, I’ve seen a couple on offer and unsure whether to buy one as I wanted a giant tcr advanced but the Merida offers a bit more value like carbon wheelset, great videos and channel btw 👍🏻
Hi, coming up to a year now. As I'm not really built for a full on aggressive race bike mine is the Endurance version (like the Giant Defy) so slightly relaxed and room for 32mm tyres. That said, it has been excellent with great power transfer, responsive handling and comfort on long rides. Which ever you decide on I'm sure you'll love it. Cheers for watching
Love you two 🚴🏼👍🏻
Cheers Mick... One day we might complete this ride without incident..?
Killing the descents there, love it
We do enjoy a nice bit of downhill, and there are plenty on Mallorca 😁 Thanks for watching
That looked great guys lovely blue skies and sea🌞👍🏻 keep peddling 🚲
It was great having a few days of lovely weather to ride in. Cheers Paul 👍
What an amazing ride, thanks for sharing. Julie, you need to learn Spanish for yehaw 😊
Maybe Julie should finish it with an Ole! Thanks for watching 😁

Haha. if it was like that we could take the gravel bikes. Some of the corners are quite narrow but okay at this time of year 👍 Thanks for commenting
Well done Mike and Julie excellent ride in a beautiful location on Well maintained roads, it was worth the climb just for the decent.

@@WheelersAtLarge great thank
Missing it already and I was only there a couple of months ago 😄

Lovely downhill, you should try it... 😁
I’m an uphill grandad.

Downhill to swanage is a great descent David! 🚴🏿♂️ 👌👍 Love that one,
Great video, hoping that car is moved by the time I get out there :)
Oooh when are you going out there,? can I sneak in your suitcase? 😂😅
1st April and can not wait to get these rides in! @@julie-wheelersatlarge

What a shame about the lighthouse Julie, you would have smashed it if the road was open anyway.
Thanks, it's given us an excuse to go back again! ( if I ever needed one) Mallorca is so nice to ride in! 🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️🚴🏿♂️🌞😎🌞😊
News flash, in case anyone didn't know: Spain is a beautiful country! 😂
Yep, I agree! ... In triplicate!
It certainly is John, especially in the Mediterranean area. 👍
Mike, you sound depressed.
Very perceptive David...
@@WheelersAtLarge Keep taking the pills, or the hills. My recommendation is the hills.
