AMEN!! U are right!! I've seen little kids play eruption, Not the same. EVH was a gift from GOD!! It's funny how originally Eddie was given drums, and Alex a guitar. Ed was pissed. Alex kept sneaking into the room while Ed was gone and would beat ob his drums. So Ed said ok, let's switch!! Can you even picture eddie on drums!!?? NOT!! It worked out just like it was suppossed to!! RIP EVH!!

Jimi Hendrix was fantastic, and what he has in common with Eddie Van Halen is the ability to write great songs, but in His time Jimi did not think he was the greatest guitar player, and I doubt he would now, unless he continued to progress from where he was.

Thank u soo much dude 4 uploading this!!!! He is in the top 5 of all time!!! Ok, he's #1 as far as his unique style and speed. He stood out in soooo many ways!!! I can't believe he's gone!! I'm 57, so when I was 12 in 77 I think Eddie was 22. We moved from Pittsburgh to Monrovia CA in 1977, my mum worked at the Ironworkers union hall in Pasadena. She told me she met Eddie's dad 1 day. She met him at work at the union hall where she worked. I was stunned thinking I might meet Eddie through my mum sum day. Eddie's dad was high up in some building firm. Building buildings I think. I can't remember cause that was 1977, and i was 12. When I 1st heard eruption, I was in shock!!! I said oh my God!! This dude is a gifted genius with the genetics to play like that!!!! I love u Eddie as a fellow human being for putting the effort into that guitar, and changing many lives. I just listen to great guitarist solo's in particular, and my depression is gone within seconds. U and a bunch of other guitarists pull me out of my depression every time I'm down and depressed. U great guitarist may not relize how that guitar soothes the soul. The energy I get from your guitar 🎸 parts in VH songs. Eruption on you tube channel HAZZARDTEAM is probably the greatest guitar 🎸 solo ever done live or not. Eddie was soooo positive and smiling 😃 contantantly. I will b lookin 4 Eddie, Stevie, Randy, Jimi, Alvin, and many more probably by the time I move up to heaven. Lead guitar and music in general made me love life especially when I was down. It really is THE GREAT ESCAPE!!!!

As a guitar player who can think of nothing cornier than a flashy guitar solo, I still think this is a pretty big deal. The dude contributed more significantly than anyone to the sound of 80s rock music. And the Dimebag story about being buried with the yellow guitar deserves big respect.

Here's the deal. You can talk about Slash and every single great out there.....nobody will compare to Eddie in my mind. IN MY MIND (if you disagree that's fine don't @ me) this dude was fuckin immortal in my book and changed the way guitar was played, he changed the way guitar was understood in the history of music. He was and always will be a legend that is a benchmark for any and all shredders that aspire to the sheer magnitude of his talent.
