Elite Dangerous Federal Corvette High Intensity Combat Zone-FA Off
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2019
- Taking my engineered Federal Corvette "Chimaera" out for a spin in the combat zones. Was hoping I'd run into a capital ship battle, but wasn't having any luck with it.
Sadly our faction was not able to win the CZ, there were just too many enemy ships, including spec ops wings. I did get a solid test of just how tough the Federal Corvette is even when under fire from multiple ships.
Well, you may have lost the battle
But it's safe to say
You're on a roll commander
"We just lost one"
"The battle is turning against us!"
"Look alive, team"
"YOUR ON A ROLL COMMANDER"
Hey dude, thanks for the vid! Ive been searching for smth like that for a long time. Theres almost no gameplay without commentary and also not in the actual time. Edit: lmao i knew ive seen your name before. Naval Action, of course. o7, captain haha
Haha o7 buddy. I'll see if I can do more of these sometime!
Love the dual 4 beams overhead. One piece of feedback - get better at PIP management. When coming head on with a ship, have 3 in sys and 3 in weapons. When boosting away and not being engaged, throw 3 in sys and 3 in engines. I use voiceattack with 0.01s pause between button pressed to flip between these during combat. It will prevent your ship's weapons draining. Also consider using efficient beams and weapons enhanced power distributor. Fly safe CMDR
Thanks for the words, I'm working on the pip management, I'm struggling between using voice attack or a hat switch on my joystick. VA is faster when it works, but every now and then it doesn't recognize it, and by the time I've realized it didn't work, it's usually too late.
As for engineering, the distributor is fully engineered for rapid recharge and the quad beams are engineered efficient, one is thermal vent, the other is oversized (I think)
@@SPIRIT-117 Well my tip for that is using the scroll button. It is spinning so fast, that you have instandly 3 points where you want them. But the disadvantage is that you can just use 2 rights. I am using mine in Engines / Weapons - so i have to do system by keyboard.
Looks like a fun game. Lot's of stuff happening!
I love elite. It's combat is fast paced and engaging.
It's a slow paced game for the most part, but team combat is a solid experience
You think this is a f*cking game? This IS our LIVES man! Hundreds of hours! Thousands of light years! 6 freakin years of my LIFE! ...
I'm gonna go play some more Elite: Dangerous.
@@overlordoakenheart6672 true
Did you destroy another federal corvette and only get 24k ?
Apparently so lol. This was a combat zone tho, so I'm getting bounties or anything like that, I was just farming kills for missions that granted engineering parts
As soon as the spec ops spawns in the CZ you have to take them out. If you are solo kill then in order; Delta, Gamma, Beta, Alpha so you don’t draw the whole wing on you. If you leave them they will kill a bunch of your ships, and you can see the effect in your video.
If anyone's interested in it I tried to recreate the hud from this I think its pretty close.

That was spectacular. The music sells it too.
Thank you! The music is actually just what plays in game, I haven't added or edited this video in any way
To be honest you made this look pretty easy, but these zones certainly arent easy!
Lol thanks man, but it is a fully engineered pve corvette which is basically easy mode engaged
@@SPIRIT-117 How long does it take to fully engineer the Corvette? Like, how many total hours aprox?
@@tangent123456 awhile. Can't put an exact hour figure on it but it was alot.
I think it took me longer to engineer this thing than it did to unlock it and afford the near billion credit balance to purchase/A rate it.
Because of how many weapons, optional internal, and aux modules it has, it takes a really long time.
The big things to engineer for PVE are your weapons, shields/scb/sb, power distributor, power plant, thrusters, and fsd. Probably do the fsd first cuz that will make it easier to cart this thing around the bubble to various engineers.
@@SPIRIT-117 Ah i see, thank you for the reply dude, i really appreciate it! I will save this info for later :)
yaaa i think im gonna stick to trading and small time bounty hunting
I tried a lot of fits, and realized that beam lasers in all slots are the best solution for pve on a corvette. two 1E beam long-range with thermal vent, others effective super-size. Everything is on Gimble, I press the button and the NPC dies. power distributor for weapons, and 4 pips for weapons.
Very nice flying!
Damn that white on your hud looks amazing
Thanks man! I ended up switching to white on blue because my hdd died and I had to reinstall elite and I couldn't find the color scheme I used again so I found a nice white and blue them to use instead.
I actually havent played elite or even DCS that much, I completely rebuilt my PC about a month ago with a fresh windows install and I haven't had the motivation to set up my VR, trackIR, voice attack, or keybind or anything for those games lol.
I'm very excited for that upcoming Star wars squadrons game, I'll definitely have to set up everything up for that again.
@@SPIRIT-117 you Hud looks amzing !
It's exacly the one i tried to create but i couldn't find the right scheme..
Could you share it (your hud) with us please ?

So I’m trying to engineer my FC to have strong shields and not max out my power plant. Any tips? Or do I just need to keep grinding through the higher grade mods?
It's been awhile since I've played elite so I don't remember exactly what I did, but I have a max side Biweave generator engineered for maximum recharge rate, and shield boosters mostly engineered for resistance but with some for MJ as well, I think.
Power Plant is armored/monstered, overcharged ruins your heat efficiency and integrity of the power plant so armored is best (it gives you more power and so does monstered). My beams are engineered efficient to help cut that power usage down, and some non essential systems get powered down when my hard points deploy such as the cargo scoop and limpet controllers.
I also have 2 s7 shield cell banks.
I also don't use plasma accelerators. With all these and module power management you should be able to fit in a beefy shield without having to use overcharged power plant.
Everything on this ship is G5.
I prefer having dual class 4 multicannons + dual class 2 multicannos the rest on beams
I have 2*Class 2 Multi-cannon and the rest all Beams, all Grade 5 overcharged. Works pretty well but I'm considering swapping to 2*Class 4 Beams, 1*Class 3 Beam and the rest Multi-cannon, again all Grade 5 overcharged. The maths says that should have more punch but heat and power draw may be an issue, which right now they are not. Anyone tried these builds on a 'vette?
о7 Cmdr! Tell me the color settings of the menu?
Hello good sir! I actually cannot, as it seems when I moved my install to my new hard drive it wiped my HUD. I'm using a different one now that's electric blue and white that has a nice Imperial theme.... I can send you that if you want

@@alramistar you too man! Be sure to stay tuned on the channel, I've got some friends who are close to their own Federal Corvettes so I'm hoping to do a wing combat video soon.
Nice video and ship CMDR, it can be posible to have a link on Coriolis of this ship? I'm very curious about different builds :)
Don't have a coriolis build but the standouts are
Double class 4 beams efficient engineering
Class 3 beam efficient. I tried a class 3 multi here but it's poor firing arc+long spool up time really annoyed me.
Rest multis with overcharged, various expirementals but one has corrosive rounds
Double class 7 SCB, not sure what engineering I applied to them, might have been boss cells
Class 7 (8 maybe? Whatever biggest class shield generator is) biweave shields rapid recharge engineered
Power plant is G5 armored+monstered, I have enough power here I don't need overcharged
Fsd is long range, obviously
Class6 fighter bay, I think
5 or 6 shield boosters, engineered for various arrays of efficiency and megajoules+ some heatsink and a chaff launcher.
Distributor is rapid recharge as well, not weapons focused
Whatever the most expensive hull option is+some engineered hull and module reinforcement package.
I think this ship had enough room in the internals for a guardian Fsd booster as well as an SRV bay.
Sorry I can't be of more specific help but plugging in the exact config is way to much work lol, but this should give you a rough idea of where to start.
I can tell you everything is engineered to the absolute max, including all the shields, weapons, hull reinforcements, even small stuff like the heatsink launchers. Literally everything is engineered to the max.

Whats your hardpoint engineered?
I don't remember the exact specs, but all my beams are G5 efficient (don't remember the expire mental effect) and the multis are all G5 overcharged, I think. One of them has corrosive rounds.
The G5 efficient beams is really the key here, as otherwise you need to run a weapons focused power distributor as opposed to rapid recharge all around, which is what I have now because I like having usable sys and eng capacity which you don't get with wep focused.
Traitor! flying a Federal Corvette but attacking the Federal Navy
This is awesome mate. I have 1.2 billion credits and have just hit rear admiral. Is that enough money to get this ship and fully kit it out? What setup are you running (weapons and modules) if you don’t mind me asking?
I have replied to other comments with build so check those out, but to answer your other questions,
Yes, 1.2 b is enough to buy and A rate a Vette, even without station discounts, but the kicker here is that every single one of my modules is fully engineered, an A rated but not engineered Vette is not going to perform like this
@@SPIRIT-117 Right then, I’ll get busy farming some materials so I can engineer the hell out of it. Thanks dude 👍
@@Mike649foxx you don't need to engineer absolutely everything, but your most important parts are
Efficient class 4 beams
Fast charge or weps focused distributor
Armored power plant
Rapid recharge biweave shields (or prismatic)
Shield boosters (combo resistance and MJ)
Dirty Drive thrusters
Also, expirmental effects are your friends. Look up engineering guides if you aren't sure what does what
@@SPIRIT-117 Thank you so much for your advice my friend, I’ll follow it to the letter!
What in gods name are those shields? They are so tanky!
Max class (7 I think) biweave engineered for rapid recharge with 6 (I think) shield boosters engineered for various effects. I have 50 percent resistances or better in all categories, a solid amount of MJ (don't remember off the top of my head, maybe 3000?), stupid fast recharge because biweave, and I also have double class 7 shield cell banks that I engineered for more MJ recharge. I have 2 heat sink launchers to deal with the heat.
The thing is an absolute joke in PVE honestly. I had half a high intensity CZ shooting me at the end and they weren't really doing all that much.
@@SPIRIT-117 That sounds absolutely delicious! I'm a long way out from this kind of equipment, but I shall try it out when I get the chance.
Neat of you to have answered so quickly a year after the upload! ~
@@skelle11o I spend entirely too much time on RUclips and this is the account I use for all my video watching and occasionally uploads.
I kinda got bored of elite but every now and then I'll hop in for some NPC clubbing. Kinda interested to see how Odyysey turns out.
Very interested in Star Wars Squadrons. Ill probs upload some footage of that game when it's out.
@@SPIRIT-117 Same here! I also spend way too much time on youtube. If you're interested in another a litle older star wars game, I'd recommend you X-Wing Alliance. It's a great flight/fight sim game where you can even create own (BIG) combat scenarios. One of my own childhood games!
@@skelle11o I played the shit out of XvT and XWA back in the day haha
What shields are you running and what’s your absolute and resists?
Honestly I don't remember the specifics as I have not played elite in years
But I can tell you these are biweave shields with a large number of shield boosters and the shield charge banks
Everything engineered G5 max, mostly for resistance.
Just got my first vette, how will it handle in pve A rated? I haven't started engineering but I want to give her a spin so badly lol
You can make it work in pve if you are smart and don't bite off more than you can chew but the difference between A rated and A rated fully engineered is (in some ways) more significant than A rated to stock.
Double class 4 beams would probably never work without efficiency and power distrib modding, you'll be way less nimble without dirty drives, and your shields will melt quickly unless you have a prismatic, but then once you do lose them it will take to long to recharge.
I was looking for a vid with your weapon config I was thinking of running my corvette with the 4 beams and 3 multi cannons. Beams engineered to grade 3 and grade 5 cannons
You'll need to engineer the beams to G5 efficient for sure, all mine are G5 efficient and the power distributor is only barely able to keep up.
Alternatively you can run g5 overcharged class 4 MCs with autoloader, 1 large and 2 medium efficient beams, and 2 small MCs with corrosive and emissive or incendiary. For pve that load out will absolutely rip through high intensity CZs. Just gotta get used to the large hardpoint placement
@@Lperry I like my death star superlasers too much to run C4 multis lol.
I wish C3s multis didn't have such an awful spool up time, otherwise I'd run a c3 on the bottom, but I feel like it's alot of wasted dps when you have such a hard time getting it lined up and then have to wait 2 seconds for it to spool.
Easier just to run 3 beams, rip shields off, and then let your multi cannon fighter do the trick.
@@SPIRIT-117 if you're active again I'd be down to wing up. I mostly run a full spec mamba with frags these days but I'd be down to pull the billion credit beast out
@@Lperry hmu after Odyssey comes out, I'll be picking up elite again after that

those fines where pretty expensive how much all together?
Combat zone, they were bounties given to me not fines.
Not that much honestly, probably not more than a few mil.
Considering I'm flying a ship that cost nearly a billion plus several days of grinding engineering mats, not that much.
Bruh, please tell me your build. I've been looking at all the builds for Fed Corvette and I think they all suck. No one shows their ship in action, except this vid from 2 years ago. Hook a rookie commander up, my dude.
So honestly I am not sure of the "exact" build as I'm on a break from Elite atm due to Odyssey being an absolute disappointment, but it's something along these lines
Double class 4 beams, engineered efficient.
Class 3 laser, efficient
Rest multis, all oversized, various expirementals including corrosive rounds (important)
Double class 7 shield cell banks, boss cell engineering I think
Biggest class bieweave shield generator, rapid recharge.
Thrusters, g5 dirty drive
Power plant, armored/monstered
I have 6 shield cell boosters resistance engineered of various sorts
And then I think 2 heatsinks, maybe a heatsink/chaff, can't remember
Fsd is range engineered and I have an Fsd booster
Hull is whatever the crazy expensive hull is, engineered
Have some module and hull reinforcements
That's basically it, key is everything is G5 Engineered
