The Second Galactic War has escalated. Super Earth High Command was forced to destroy an entire planet to contain the Terminid Swarm.

Did you buffer swap or any other kind of tuning when putting the suppressor on?
@@Buth838 factory LMT setup, so A5 length tube and AR15 H3 buffer. I do have a BRT 50/50 gas tube which seems to be perfect balance - it still runs unsupressed, and it's not overgassed while suppressed. I shoot both with and without the can, although I do make sure I have 2 sets of ears on because 13.5 308 unsupressed is loud as hell. I have a Surefire 3 prong.
You're dinging up your other rifle and scope. Maybe take it off the bench.
I assure you both of those guns have been beat up far worse than a few errant brass casings.
If your gun and optic cant handle brass falling on it go turn em in to your local buyback pleb lmao
Nothing hits quite like x4 foundations be it vanilla or modded to kingdom come. It's just fun.

Thanks man. I actually just snagged the LMT 13.5 chrome lined barrel with a pin and welded surefire 3 prong - I'm gonna get a surefire mini 762 suppressor for it at some point. Shorty suppressed 308s are so fukin hot.

It's worth it but keep in mind SWI also requires all the X4 DLCs and that the learning curve is fairly immense. Same with time, it's probably 100 hours in game before you can get to capital ships like this. Also, X4 has a new update pending soon, 7.0 and it will take the SWI modders some time to update for that so be sure to turn off auto updates for X4.
@@SPIRIT-117thank u for your tips! I'll do that, stay at 6.20 and try the mod woth a looot of patient but with hype. Just installed right now, so we will see how its going :P
@@ThisJac If you do the Kuat start it makes it much easier to get into bigger ships, make a few energy stations and miners for passive income/reputstion build and do missions or SETA till you get enough, youre already at +20 with kuat and just need to buy the capital license for 40 mil and you can build an ISD 1 at the Kuat Heavy Shipyard. Theres an ISD 2 but im pretty sure its locked to Ascendancy or Imperial Remnants.

A masterpiece. Democracy has been spread this day. Converts to the spread of liberty are flocking in masses after seeing this.
A lot of the cool factor is diminished by the horribly sluggish AI, damn. Order ships to flee, ships loiter. Order fighters to launch, they sit in the bays.
You aren't wrong. Combination of the way the game works, poor AI, and also some user error on my part. For example, big ships can't charge the travel drive while under fire, so ordering them to flee means they won't be going anywhere, and the game decides where they flee too, usually stupidly. Best to give them a manual move order where you want them to flee to, I didn't really know this. I think I also had issues with the fighters because some of those wings had orders that wouldn't have them launch even when i set them to launch, believe they were set to attack and an attack wing only attacks the target the ship is attacking. Because the ship was set to move, it's not "attacking". I should have changed all the fighter wings to intercept and then I think they would have launched.
@@SPIRIT-117 I see, so a lot of the issue is unintuitive and conflicting commands. And the travel drive thing is really stupid, at the very least it should remain charging and instead be hit with a time penalty when under fire. Not just stop entirely, what the hell.
@@Agora2021X4 isn't known for its amazing UI. It's functional but not intuitive. That mechanic I believe is hard coded into the game from vanilla X4.
I have found that doing the drive by boarding maneuver to be solid, especially when you nudge them as you fly on by. You pause, then let loose the boarding party just as you nudge them. Don't take too many boarding party casualties doing this. Also, helps to have the enemy marines abandon ship after you've knocked their HP down a little bit, too.
I tried a lot of fits, and realized that beam lasers in all slots are the best solution for pve on a corvette. two 1E beam long-range with thermal vent, others effective super-size. Everything is on Gimble, I press the button and the NPC dies. power distributor for weapons, and 4 pips for weapons.

Forgive me, I have never played this mod, or even ANY X series game but... You lost an ISD 1, as well as other cruisers, to 4 Clone Wars era separatist battleships? And you didnt destroy them all? Does this meam the mod devs have made the older ships viable in terms of capability againts more modern ships?
So yea a few things No ISD1s in my task force here, this was a Victory2 and some Vindicator cruisers. The Victory2 is quite a bit smaller than the ISD1 with a subsequent reduction in firepower and durability. Vindicator cruisers are... well... cruisers, and not really designed to go toe to toe with enemy heavy combatants. The Victory2 and the Vindicator are both "L" class ships in this mod. You'll notice one of my cruisers got ahead of the main group and got pulverized before everything else even got there (thx AI) And yes, ships in the mod are balanced around size/class, and somewhat historical capabilities, no just age of ship. For example the providence has excellent broadside firepower and a shit ton of fighters, the munifenct has most of its firepower underneath (to fire down at things) and the Venator has the weakest shields and hull armor of any XL class ship, I believe. . So the Commerce Guild has access to CIS ships, and the Providence class is the main battleship they have. Since it's an XL class ship, it's designed to have XL combat capabilities although it is weaker than an ISD in a straight gunfight. It does carry an insane amount of star fighters but the AI struggles to properly outfit carriers with fighter groups in this game. So in short, yeah, a Victory2 and some vindicators vs 4 XL class ships, even if they are older clone wars era CIS ships, is pretty mismatched fight even tho my fleet had a humber of torpedo bombers and strike fighters to help out.

Yes it's a mod and yes it's free, it's not on steam workshop tho due to copyright issues, nexus mods I believe. The mod does require most of X4s dlcs tho, and they are releasing an update soon to update to latest version which will require all the X4 dlcs.

I watch a ton of x4 star wars mod videos and no one knows how to maneuver an ISD.
They really don't manuever at all, it takes 3 years to turn and they go about 100m/s in a straight line. You park nose in to maximum gun angles, 15km away and let your guns pulverize anything that comes in range. If you find yourself seriously outgunned, you better hope you have backup close by or you are done for, bc it takes forever to charge travel drive and any damage interrupts that.
@@SPIRIT-117 Max speed should be higher considering the lore. Just acceleration/deceleration should be slow.

So quick question, do you have to go Empire in this mod to get an ISD or can you, say, grab an ISD and go pirate/join the Rebellion?
It's based on faction rep, it's complicated but no you aren't locked into any one faction. There are also smaller sub factions and some of them offer certain ships (like Kuat Drive Yards is a sub faction and they sell ISDs) but not all ships are available from all factions. I belive ISD2s are Imps only Also, as you get bigger (and you need to be big to be able to afford to buy or build ISDs) other factions take more notes of your activities, so probably if you are friendly with the Imps, by the time you can afford ISD2s from the Imps the new republic and rebel alliances will hate you. What start you choose affects standing tho, if you choose something like Imperial pilot start, the NRL and Rebels hate you right off the get go.
I just don't seem to be able to get promoted with the imperials , have to get Kuat to build all my ISD's, but can't use most of the imperial line up sadly.
You need to read/follow the citizenship rank requirements they send you in a letter at the beginning of a new game (accessible later). It is not just rep points based like with vanilla X4. Different factions have dif requirements to level up, the biggest one with the imps is a frontier defense station.

This is an ISD1, the octuple mounts are only available on the ISD2.
in straight ship on ship engaging the ISD is the superior ship while the Venator works best when utilizing its starfighter complement. The captain of the Venator paid the price of being and idiot.

What's the settings to make the laser particles that bright and bloomy?
None, theyve changed the particle effects in later versions of the mod, this video is from a much older version, before they even released the star wars based map. I like the bloomy lasers better :(

@@coolcolt5769 yeah, it's been changed. You'd have to hunt down a really old version, pre star wars map for them. The new versions add enough that I'm willing to sacrifice the glowy lasers. I complain about it every now and then on the mod discord tho, they do change stuff like that if enough people ask for it. Rn they are hard at work updating the mod for X4 6.0, so I'm excited to see what that brings.

What shields are you running and what’s your absolute and resists?
Honestly I don't remember the specifics as I have not played elite in years But I can tell you these are biweave shields with a large number of shield boosters and the shield charge banks Everything engineered G5 max, mostly for resistance.

R7 5800X non 3d, 2x16 3600mhz ram, evga 3080 ftw3 @1440p. I have noticed that performance seems worse in the newer version of SWI than this, which is an older version. I'm waiting for X4 6.0 and for SWI to update to 6.0 as I hear 6.0 is supposed to have major perf improvements. Also considering getting an R7 7800X3D.
What graphic settings are you using? The lasers look so much more vibrant here than they do when I play
Basically maximum except msaa. However, this is a much older version of the mod, and I do have to say turbo lasers do not look quite as good as in newer version (you can check my channel for some newer uploads if you want to see if it's mod version or settings related)
